### "Best D8 In my Dice Bag"

October 2, 2018

4.0

I consult with schools, helping them "gamify" their curricula, and I bill each school by the hour. Instead of spending 1-2 additional hours a week creating, updating, and extracting each client school's time sheet, it takes me 15 minutes to double-check for extraneous/mis-attributed entries and pull together Excel sheets for my overall billable hours and for each client's weekly hours, down to the minute! I can accurately log my creative-brained-tendency to switch rapidly between tasks and am far more confident that I'm not accidentally over- or under-estimating any time spent on a project when I get distracted or In The Flow. I get so many questions and compliments on my "Work D8" as my spouse, clients, and I affectionately refer to it, and I tend to evangelize for my Timeular device and app without even realizing I've slipped into Timeular-PR mode! ;) Thank you SO MUCH for this invention, and I look forward to all the functionality tweaks and updates you geniuses come up with next.

Pros

Timeular has streamlined my time-sheet processes immensely and made visualizing my time-management (or, some weeks, lack thereof) a breeze.

Cons

Sometimes the app is a little slow and clunky, especially for editing/deleting entries (such as when my cube/D8 rolls around in my bag between client sites and logs a bunch of 1-2 minute nonsense entries I would like to be able to mass-delete, but I have to load and delete each one individually, and sometimes it misses a cube-switch and I end up with comically long time logs, my personal record being 43 hours when it missed being turned off before a weekend...). Also (not re:the software, but the physical cube itself), as someone with a fine-motor disability, the on-off switch mechanism is physically challenging to use, so it doesn't end up turning off reliably when I'm not using it even if I try to hit and squeeze the on-off button. But every app update does seem to make it a little smoother each time, so keep it up, hardworking coding team! <3

### "An intuitive and easy way to track a large variety of projects."

January 26, 2023

5.0

Timeluar has helped my workflow and given me great data for how much time I spend on each type of project. I love how simple it is to use, and the novel idea to include a physical item that sits in front of you, that you can design and name however you want. For example, I use the die to divide up all the different aspects of my work, as opposed to specific projects. Then I can see the data on how much time I spend on design vs. animation, prep and research, organization, and break time.

Pros

I love having the included 8-sided die that I can switch on the fly, depending on the project I'm working on. And if I forget to switch the die, it's easy to go into the program and adjust it to the correct amount of time I spent on the project.

Cons

It depends on the user staying on-top of the time. You have to be the one to flip the die, you have to be the one to edit it and put in a lot of front-end work. There's really no way around this, so the tracker is only as good as the person using it.

### "Much Less than you would expect for such High Prices"

January 25, 2023

2.0

Once you subscribe, don't be surprised if soon you receive an email saying that after a certain date or the renewal date, you will be charged more because it is supposedly a great app that requires a lot of money to develop. Who are they kidding, if it still needs so much improvement and is updated every 2-3 months, but what is really important still does not improve.

Pros

What I liked was that it had a physical gadget that just rotated to tell time and change activities.

Cons

Shortly after trying it, I have seen it useless, a can. Due to the aforementioned, a lot of time is wasted in the mobile app to access it, since it does not have a widget. Sometimes it gets stuck or simply doesn't detect the physical item. The permanent notification of the mobile does not really show the time tracked at the moment, but it is rounded and updated every so often as a fixed amount of time. On top of that, prices are rising more and more.

### "Timeular is all about time efficiency"

January 25, 2023

4.0

Positive overall experience with the hardware and software. I'd highly recommend this as a solution for people focused on productivity, and overall time efficiency.

Pros

Super easy interface and hardware logic. It so easy to get going and stay active with the software. I have multiple devices at the various locations and it allows me to work from home and the office efficiently with a cohesive report showing my overall productivity.

Cons

I struggle with the times that I'm away from the desk and handing off to my "mobile" device. If there was a function that would indicate OR remind me thru a notification when I leave my desk to adjust to mobile time keeping it would be a game changer for me personally. The only other issue I've run into is probably a bug; however I keep getting a "update available" notification on my windows pc app. When I run the update it is constantly there, will not clear despite an update being ran.

Reason for choosing EARLY

I really liked the idea of a simple hardware interface. The software design also attracted me.

### "Timeular is Essential to my workflow"

January 25, 2023

5.0

I am an independent contractor and charge hourly, so I need to carefully track hours on a per project basis in order to invoice. I also need to do some high level tracking to make sure I'm hitting my daily, weekly and monthly goals. I initially bought into timeular because I liked the physical tracker as a visual reminder to make sure I'm tracking time. It definitely helped me to create the time-tracking habit. Now, I don't use the physical tracker. I simply start my timer from my computers status bar at the beginning of each Pomodoro period and stop it at the end! The integration with Harvest makes invoicing painless.

Pros

My favorite timeular features: 1) The physical tracker 2) Integration with Harvest for Invoicing 3) Ability to start/stop timers from my mobile phone if I'm away from my computer. 4) Ability to customize the level of tracking I need (per task, per project, etc.)

Cons

It's easy to accidentally create a time entry when modifying my timesheet in the desktop app, so I have to watch for that.

Alternatives considered

[Harvest](https://www.capterra.com/p/75598/Harvest/)[Basecamp](https://www.capterra.com/p/56808/Basecamp/)

Reason for choosing EARLY

I wanted the physical tracker and the monthly/annual subscription is reasonable. I still use Harvest for invoicing but their time tracking is less robust.

### "I have included Timeular in all my tasks"

January 25, 2023

4.0

Since I have Timeular I track all the tasks I do because is super easy to use!!

Pros

I love that I can create as many projects as I can and link them with a side of my phisical tracker.I can see the summary, where I can filter all the time I have spent in each project with a beautiful graph so I can see how I have used my time easily.

Cons

As I have said before, I have problems when I try to add manually a task and it overlaps another one: that disappears, so I can't know when it started, and I can't go back.I'd like to have a "Undone" button or shorcut.Another thing is that I travel a lot and the tracker is not very "portable" because is quite big and sometimes, when I put it in my bag it starts to track.

### "Overpriced item. Love the idea."

May 15, 2020

2.0

I love the idea. Very disappointed with the execution. Expected to have a beautiful object on my desk. Devil is in the details.

Pros

A great idea is to have a physical object on you table. Love the idea of flipping. Toggl sync works great.

Cons

The device feels cheap. The button is not actually a button, but a piece of rubber stuck inside the plastic hole. Under it, one can see a charging port and a tiny button on a circuit board. It can be easily damaged. And you have to open it every time to charge the device. Also, it feels like one can break it, just putting a charging cable in. Rubber piece can be swollen by a kid. The rubber stand gathers all dust. It (and "button") looks dirty all the time. And yes - the packaging was cheap, too. Goggle calendar sync - not so great.

### "Hassle-free Time Tracking, most of the time"

March 5, 2019

4.0

I'm required to post all my time on various projects and admin work into Financial Force for time-tracking and invoicing of customers. The desktop app allows exporting if needed but more useful is how I can use the app to easily key in daily hours for given projects, even when the time is split into separate chunks throughout the day.

Pros

I really like the desktop app that times your work in segments that can be edited or comments added very easily. I'm required to post all my time on various projects and admin work into Financial Force for time-tracking and invoicing of customers. At the end of the day I can make minor corrections then know that on Friday I'll have summaries available for entry into the external billing software (Financial Force).

Cons

I like the concept of the plastic device that can be places with particular projects or customer names facing up. When it works, it works great. However I'm still having problems with it getting disconnected throughout the day with no warning. I think it is tracking time and it is not. So I'm pretty much using the desktop app exclusively until I have time to update my software and try the plastic device again. Similarly, I find that even the desktop app will stop tracking for no reason. I've gotten into the habit of minimizing it on my desktop (as opposed to letting it run in an open window that may be buried under other windows) and that seems more reliable. Maybe we need an optional "lock" function that will keep the app safe while it is running, with a 3-digit code to unlock it.

### "Knowledge is Power"

April 29, 2019

5.0

I love being able to see where my time goes and be able to make accurate reports to my supervisor on how long things actually take. That's helped me defend the value of my time and organize my work week personally so I'm not overpromising and under-delivering.

Pros

Finally! A time tracker that doesn't suck. Time tracking, on the whole, is a hassle anyways. But Timeular manages to make it fun and intuitive. It's a brilliant solution to use a real-world object connected digitally. As I flip the octahedron on my desk to a new time tracking side, the physical action mirrors my mental transition. The bluetooth connection works perfectly keeping record of how I spend my days. I can use hashtags to roll up work into larger categories, and even if I don't have the physical time tracker with me, I can use the desktop software or app to update on the go. I love everything about it!

Cons

A con for some would be the price point. My team was hesitant about the initial investment to purchase the time tracker, so I bought it on my own and it is well worth it. It's hard to estimate where your time is going, but now I have an indisputable digital record. It's a little depressing to add up how many hours I spend reading and responding to emails! The app was a con for a while, it was pretty slow and hard to use, but they've been working hard to improve it. Other beefs have been fixed in the recent software update, so now there's a nice weekly view and some additional pre-set options for running reports. It may take an initial working up period to remember to flip the tracker as you start each new project, but you'll quickly get used to it and it will become almost second nature.

### "Overall decent time-keeping tool for freelancers (and a good conversation-starter)!"

October 2, 2018

5.0

All in all, Timeular HAS greatly improved my consistency with keeping track of where my time is going. I used to be really bad about logging working time, and adding Timeular to the arsenal has greatly improved time/work documentation.

Pros

While the title of my review is specifically about Timeular's ZEI tool, I will make these comments about both that device and their time-tracking software in general. For starters, the ZEI is a very easy-to-use time-tracker. The fact that it's a physical object sitting there on the desk also makes for an easier time remembering to start and stop tracking the time I spend working. It's software is good, but not great. It's UI is fairly straightforward and easy enough to navigate. I also like that it's a desktop app, as opposed to something that has to be accessed via a web portal. Compared to other leading time-tracking company's desktop apps that I've tried, this one works better and provides more control options. I also appreciate the integrations with other software and would LOVE to see more added in the future.

Cons

My biggest problem with the Timeular software is that it still feels very tethered or limited by the ZEI device's 8-sided physicality. I get that the ZEI is the right hand and that the software was probably originally designed to be the left hand, however, it seems to me that Timeular's end game is to scale beyond that. A few thoughts/criticisms for how to improve: - The ZEI has 8 sides. Make it easier in the software to assign those sides to be more general "families" or "genres" of work, and then offer the ability for an unlimited # of projects to start, live, and be completed/archived within those families . This way, I'm not constantly having to reassign sides of the ZEI to correspond with a new client or project. - Give me the ability to log time by day without needing to assign a working session starting and ending times to the minute. In other words, I write down in my paper journal while on the road that I worked 2.5 hours last Thursday, 9/27. I want the ability to be able to go click on last Thursday and quickly type in that I worked 2.5 hours. Doesn't matter WHEN I worked those 2.5 hours in that 24-hour day to my client. They get billed all the same and don't ask when, throughout my days, I'm logging time. I've never really understood why the timestamps are so important. Maybe that information is more important in the corporate world where employees are only "supposed" to be working during certain hours. However, ask any freelancer if that matters. J

### "See where your valuable time is being spent"

January 25, 2023

5.0

I use Timeular personally, not through work. I started using it over 2 years ago when it first came out. I've always wanted to make sure I was making good use of my time, not spending time on projects that weren't important or in too many meetings. Over the years, the Timeular team has made some great improvements to the product, the reporting, and ease of use. I choose to pay for Timeular out of my own pocket because I think it provides me personally with insights I couldn't get elsewhere, and it is just so simple to set up and use.

Pros

The Timeular device that sits on your desk is by far the easiest way I have found to track my time. I'm terrible at remembering to go into an app and log information, so having this device right next to my mouse makes it easy and quick to change projects. I also love the reporting functionality in Timeular. You can very easily compare various periods or various tasks to see what is changing. You can also set goals, such as the one I have to not spend too much time on email each day.

Cons

I don't use the mobile version as often as I should. If the mobile app would remind me to use it when I havent turned on my tracker that would help. Perhaps if there was a button I could add right to my home screen of my phone that allowed me to change tasks in a flash that would be great.

### "Long-term user says "perfect for those easily distracted or who struggle with billing""

January 25, 2023

5.0

I've been using Timeular pretty regularly since 2020 to help me overcome my career-long struggle to remember to record my time. It's the best tool I've found, and I'm grateful to have found it.

Pros

The Timeular device makes multitasking and switching between tasks and activities a breeze! I don't have to dig up whatever time tracking software my firm uses and start a new time entry that has to be specifically assigned to a client matter with an activity category and description, etc. before I can get started. Remembering to pause between tasks to start a new time entry is a personal struggle and a workflow nuisance, often a distraction or disruption from the task I want to work on. It can easily throw me off my groove, but when I forget, I fail to accurately capture all the time I worked, and in this industry time is money. Timeular makes it easy to start a time entry with a matter or activity already assigned and accurately capture all my time. The menu that comes up when I click a time entry in the app makes it easy to quickly edit the entry and add a description with a few extra clicks.

Cons

The tracker does not reliably track time offline, and won't connect unless the app is open.

Reason for choosing EARLY

Initially I really wanted the Timeflip because it had twelve sides to it rather than the eight available on a Timeular device. Timeflip had massive, widespread customer service issues so I withdrew my order and got a Timeular. Turns out eight sides is enough for my needs, and I'm very happy.

### "A gamechanger for anyone who works on billable hours!"

January 27, 2023

5.0

Timeular does what it promises, and it does it so extremely well: Save your time! I used it daily, and it has taken away worries about tracking my billable hours as well as non-billables for efficiency control. Here, the word "mighty tool" is really the best way to describe the software. And the speed of Timeular when it comes to implementing innovations and customer suggestions is amazing!

Pros

Once you set up your tracker's sides, just flip it, fill in a tag or two, and at the end of the day your timesheet is ready! So much better than compiling Excel sheets or even writing down hours with a pen. In addition, the exact timing in addition with the rounding feature saves so much time when preparing the invoices for your clients - I can no longer imagine a professional life without Timeular!

Cons

When you have a slow internet connection, the user may be quicker than Timeular when it comes to opening entires for editing purposes, and the user may end up creating new entries on other days. This can be easily corrected, so this is a mere nuisance. In addition, I would love to be able to combine tags with hourly rates to include these in the time sheets for each client.

### "Convinient time tracking for entrepreneurs"

January 28, 2023

5.0

Can see what I really use my time for, can set work time goals and can get useful data easily. Easy to use and fun to personalize and customize my tracker. Tracker battery lasts very long! Only need to charge a couple times every year even though I use it pretty much every day. The only negative I have so far is sometimes the tracker will stop tracking while a task is still in progress (my guess it's a bluetooth connection problem?)

Pros

Easy to use, provides useful information and overall useful software. Customization of the tracker is a nice bonus!

Cons

Wish it had more features such as setting different types of goals for different time periods (per week, per month, per year etc). Could have an integrated to-do-list type of feature, as well as a useful widget for the mobile app version.

### "Loyal fan forever!"

February 1, 2023

5.0

I fully admit that I fell in love with the 8-sided design (it's a giant d8, for this gamer). I wasn't sure about jumping on it for the huge cost, though, so I used the app for a while. After finding it indispensable after a year or so, especially when making site visits, I made the jump and got the physical timer for use at my desk. It all came together! I had some business plans that were halted in 2020, and I ended up paying for the higher-tier plan for a couple of years before realizing I just wasn't getting anything out of that level, but I don't even regret that. How's that for brand loyalty?

Pros

I absolutely love the fact that I can track my time across the board, and set a goal. The physical timer's battery lasts nearly a month.

Cons

Wish I could set more than one weekly/monthly goal, and for more than just one task.

### "Excellent software that reduces the burden of month end billing"

January 25, 2023

5.0

This app has seriously reduced the time to do my month end billing. I’ve got rid of my client daybooks and capture the activity details in each entry, including tasks.

Pros

Ease of use. Whether using the device or the app, capturing the time spent with each client as I chop and change between tasks has never been easier.

Cons

The only thing I didn’t like, and this is really petty, is the occasional update message that didn’t used to disappear after restarting. Thankfully, this seems to have been resolved now.

### "A piece of cake to use and honestly the only way I can imagine staying on track anymore"

January 25, 2023

5.0

Pros

The most important thing about the Timeular software to me is to have a reminder of what I've already worked on. Instead of hyper-fixating on one task/project to the detriment of my other work, Timeular helps me know that it's time to move to another area. Seeing that spread of time spent on individual areas is huge for me.

Cons

My biggest complaint is that I can't get my work to integrate this into our project management strategy using jira, etc. But even as an individual user not on a team, this has been a game changer for me.

### "Love the product, as a POC its solid to improve individual performance. "

October 6, 2018

5.0

The product shipped quickly, it is accurate as I am and sitting on the desk in front of the mouse makes it non intrusive enough to be fairly reliable. The reporting functions on pro could use a few more tweaks I feel and the android app can use some minor UI adjustments but the product is great. I use it as a software engineer to help record time, and improve focus. I took empirical data back to my team members and was able to re-arrange things so I spent more time working on what makes us money. Mandating use of this product is bad micro-management practices, but having the option to use the product is a way to take your high performance individuals to the next level. I don't write reviews for products that are OK, or products that didn't return a high value. Timeular was worth my personal money to improve my work time. No purchasable item, short of better keyboards or monitors, has the value of making work better.

Pros

The software on android is fine. It could use some color to draw attention to things since most of the time you open it and the they is a thick grey on white wall. some times the bluetooth goes wonky and you have to fiddle with it for a minute of reboot it, or reboot the phone, but it is a solid quality product.

Cons

The calendar from the android app when you open it should query your current time and move to that, not pull 12AM. The only reason from a phone you would open the calendar view is to make an adjustment so lets move it to go pull up current time. On the Pie Chart, selecting date ranges feels clunky because it looks like you can slide a range, but the UI can not handle that. Just click twice to get the date ranges works fine but the color pallet makes it appear you should be able to drag a range.

The Bluetooth tracker connection is flaky. Also, increased subscription cost recently with no extra features that I use.

### "Free Edition Well Worth it"

October 4, 2018

5.0

Minimal to no need to interact with Support as everything is pretty clear. I believe the one time I did contact Support (before some major updates), my request was dealt with quickly and professionally, and with a wonderful friendly tone over the email! It really makes it easy to keep track of time with both computer and phone app. If I forget to turn off my timing on the computer, I can do it on my phone at a later time (and/or edit it, of course). It makes me wish I had the Zei. My focus is not spent on spending a lot of time organizing timing of project management, and I love that.

Pros

Timuelar is really easy to use. Interface is clean and there is no confusion about how it works. Time entries are easy to edit. You can create your own types of projects and colour-code them (many colours to choose from). There is even a place to add additional notes. You have a status report anytime you need it and an additional report at the end of the week of time spent on projects. Uploads easy to Excel for tax purposes (if necessary in your area/country) and is super readable. Right now I'm using the free version of the software and I can't say enough about it. I've tested multiple leading time-tracking software and this is by far the best experience so far.

Cons

I wish there was a Pomodoro timer function; set for 25 min (or whatever you set it to). This is what I find lacking (and very handy), but perhaps this is with the Zei/paid version? I don't know. I also wish there was an automatic stop after x-amount of time if I forget to turn off the timer. I want to say this was covered in the last update, but have not seen evidence of this. It's always a surprise to turn on the computer in the morning to see my work on Social Media has been going on for 12 hrs :D

### "Unveils time"

January 25, 2023

5.0

Timeular is a great help to log time and boost productivity.

Pros

I like to know where and how I spent my time, also when I want to look back at an earlier time range.

Cons

Im just missing the possibility to tag a task itself instead of just the activity for being able to group tasks more flexible in reports.

### "Easy to use and integrate"

January 25, 2023

4.0

It is essential in our work to allocate work hours, we continually change projects and the Tracker gives us spectacular agility.

Pros

It is very intuitive and easy to use.It works fine with Linux! The API syncs well to integrate with external ERPs.

Cons

The tracker synchronization sometimes fails when turning on the computer, and then it is difficult to synchronize. It does not notify when the battery runs out. (Linux version)

Reason for choosing EARLY

Tracker integration

### "Still finding it's place in my workflow"

March 8, 2019

4.0

The key purpose for using Timeular was to help reduce my task-switching/multi-tasking habit. On that regard it has helped. Next is to actually make my time use more effective.

Pros

When everything is working and I'm integrated with Jira, I really get a sense for how much time I was spending on different activities. As someone who recently changed roles, I wasn't sure how effective I was in my previous role compared to the new role. How am I spending my time now? How has this changed over time? Do I feel I'm being effective in my use of time? The reporting features provide an insight to the answers to those questions. Having 8 different tasks available using the 8-sided die for the common stuff, and also having options to have additional task types in the software is a great idea. I don't feel restricted.

Cons

2 things: 1) Connection issues using the 8-sided die for tracking what task I'm working on. I leave it at my desk while I take my laptop and move between conference rooms or pair with others in my office. It will loose connection as expected, but sometimes it doesn't re-connect when I get back to my desk. So then when I start my next day, I find that I have to manually enter what 2/3rds of my previous day looks like. 2) Guidance on what kinds of things I should track. This is still something I'm constantly tweaking. Do I only track work time, or should I also be handling personal time use as well? Should I track my lunch break or should that be left open? Should 1 on 1 meetings with my reports all be lumped into a generic meeting task, or should I separate that as something separate. What about preparing for meetings? I realize this is all highly subjective, but any guidance would be helpful.
