November 2, 2020 5.0 Pros Hi, I am Yulia, and I am an expert in the Lean Startup. Last month I was invited to teach this subject in a workshop for students of Jacobs University. Despite of an online nature I wanted participants to take the best out of it, therefore I was thinking to provide some materials beforehand to get them on board with theory basics and fill in Business Model Canvas. I picked the Workademy platform to build my pre work course because it had the functionality other platforms were missing. My goal was to make a wow effect and present content in a new way to grab students' attention and at the same time not to spend too much resources on my side. On the Workademy I used this unique format that is called “dialog-like”. It allows to transform text into a conversation between two people. For the learners it seems like they are inside the chat window reading the conversation. It is super engaging and requires less effort than, for example, video course. The course editor is user-friendly, it is what you see is what you get, you don’t need to open another admin interface, you just click the “editing mode“ toggle and start editing right away. It provides flexibility so I could change the part of the lecture anytime. My students loved it! They told me they were expecting some boring 40-minutes videos of talking heads and they were surprised seeing such an engaging format. Innovative platform hosting the topic of the Lean Startup. It was a perfect! Cons While creating the course I experienced some bugs on the platform but the Workademy team was reactive and fixed them right away. March 5, 2021 5.0 We are an online education studio, so we create online courses and other educational projects. And of course, we need a platform to host them. We used Open edX for years, but it was so complicated. We finally started switching our courses to Workademy about a year ago, it’s made the lives of our content creators much easier. Pros Customizable workspaces for any of our clients and their branding; Easy to launch and edit courses — crucial for the work of our online courses creators; It’s cloud-based — we don’t have to pay insane money for hosting and maintaining the technical infrastructure for the platform; Dialogue-like format of courses — we use it quite often in our projects as it is very engaging for the learners; Workademy team support — whenever we needed help with anything, they always reply within a couple of hours, answer all our questions, fix bugs right away, and implement new features to make our course creation more productive and efficient. Cons Lack of variety of quizzes types for now — only single choice and multiple choice. Other than that, everything is great. If we ever have an issue or a question, we just write to Workademy team and then help us resolve it. Open edX is extremely complex and required us to have IT specialists on board to help us organize everything. With Workademy, our team can manage everything ourselves, and therefore spend way less time on courses organization. Besides that, we can't provide customized solutions to our partners because we can't clone the OpenEdX instance, while with workademy launching new branded customized workplaces for the customers can be done in a couple of hours. I highly recommend choosing Workademy platform for your educational project! Pros We used Workademy platform for our educational project about voting and democracy «ЦВК: просвіта» and I believe it would not be possible to deliver this concept with any other platform. Workademy is super flexible and easy to use. I worked with several platforms before and never saw such an intuitive interface for course editing. All I had to do was to open the course, click the ‘editing mode’ toggle button and start inline editing. Cons The development process was followed by several product bugs with tests system and interactive dialogs (chats) branching, but they were fixed by the team members asap. I've enjoyed the cooperation and contact with the team. They've assisted us with the courses at every step and have always intently listened to our feedback. The platform itself is easy to use. We need a lot of customization to our content, and Workademy is covering these needs. Pros We use Workademy to build online courses on the GDPR and provide access to our clients and partners. I've been involved in e-learning design since the open-source revolution of the mid 2000s and have seen a lot of different software solutions to create online courses. I find the Workademy extremely easy to use. What I like about it is its all roundedness. It's build for the content writer, the course manager, the product owner. It's easy to start using as soon as you've registered. Whether you are alone managing an e-learning course or involving others, it's easy to get things done. The Workademy team team is very responsive and happy to implement features that will benefit you. They are software designers with a learning background, happy to ear your concerns and implement your needs. They even helped us populate our content to help our course release happen on time. They advise on best formats to use, fix bugs on the spot and implement features we requested. It is a pleasure working with them because they understand what you want your course to achieve and are happy to dirty their hands to make it happen. Cons I'd like to see more variety in the type of activities I can create but the current creation process is super straighforward which is a great tradeoff. Besides, I know that the Workademy has this on their roadmap, so I'm not concerned I'll regret my choice of platform. My course and my design process are in good hands. Reason for choosing Workademy I couldn't get the support I wanted and the wikis and functionalities were too rich to make sense of. This was costing me valuable time taken away from my course delivery deadlines. I scrapped it all for a platform with rapid uptake and responsive support. Review Source Ira K. During this time, I've launched 22 online courses. There is nothing to hide, before working with Workedemy I spent up to 25% of all time on filling, preparing, and resolving bugs on the platform. And it was awful. There were two main reasons: I needed specific knowledge, so I had to hire additional staff. Additional costs and additional time to complete the task is not the most pleasant thing that can be. the platform wasn't flexible and usable for new solutions in online-education. With Workedemy, work has become the exact opposite. Quickly, easy, convenient, understandable and, most importantly, I don’t depend on the work of other team members. November 5, 2020 5.0 Pros Hi, I am Olha, and I am the CBDO of Backstage beauty. Backstage Beauty is the biggest beauty salon chain in Kyiv, Ukraine. In July we launched our first online course on Workademy. This course aims to onboard new nail masters to our salons. We have very high standards for design and quality. Our brand book is one of the most creative brand books in beauty industry. We were sceptical at first that e-learning platforms can accommodate our standards of aesthetics. However, the result was astonishing. Workademy platform is so flexible that it could fit all our design elements and style guide and the course we worked on for several months, just fits into it and it looks in the end like an integral part of our business and brand book. We were so excited with the result that now we are working on 6 more internal courses for our masters! We believe that our in-house academy is a unique academy to onboard beauty masters with no analogs in world. We are happy to work with such technology as Workademy to assist us in this journey. Their platform gives an opportunity to create a various courses with multiple tools. For example, we have a mix of video and text materials for our sports team. This way we’ll save our offline time on teaching them and will be able to concentrate on practicing instead. Workademy’s team is very flexible and quick to response. Whenever I have a question, they are 24/7 to help me with any issue. They are also willing to adapt their interface to the most of my needs. From 1 to 10 I'd give them 10++++! :) Cons No cons. The course on such uneasy topic ended up being very engaging for our students. It is a great product for our organization to share with our audience. And we experienced no issues operating the course on the platform. We recommend it! Pros We worked with Workademy though our partners — online education studio. We created a cases-based course about the ethics of finance specialists. Workademy offered a new for us format of courses — dialogues. Our students “communicate” with an expert in a chat, asking questions, getting new information, and answering quizzes. Our partners took care of filling in the platform and experienced no issues with it, and it was easy for us to review the materials and offer improvements. Cons Some pictures in the dialogue course took too long to load for the students, because the files were too heavy. We received feedback from Workademy that it is due to the fact that the pictures files were too heavy. Then our partner studio resolved the issue by replacing pictures files with “lighter” ones. We had a pleasant experience both working with the platform itself, and interacting with the team behind the product. It was easy to organize our materials on the platform. And whenever we had questions, we got immediate support. Pros We created a MOOC on management for local authorities, for reps of local political parties. It consisted of 6 modules with videos, and tests. Workademy platform was a great choice for us: the users had an easy time going through the course, and getting their certificates. We wanted to make it possible to receive certificates with 80%+ points for the course. It was easily adjustable in the platform — through connecting test results and certificates. It was transparent how to do everything. Cons Several of our users experienced issues when going from a landing page of the course to the course itself.
