### "Amazing for teaching and interactive whiteboarding! Best teaching platform I’ve used : )"

June 29, 2026

5.0

Overall, I am quite pleased with the platform, and it has really boosted my teaching experience compared to google meet. I would however recommend to the lessonspace team that they integrate a booking/scheduling feature similar to Zoom and google workspace, and possibly even integrated payments. This would really make it a complete product for tutors.

Pros

Lessonspace’s whiteboarding tool is absolutely amazing and makes lessons so much more interactive. Other platforms such as zoom, and miro also have this interactive whiteboarding feature, but lessonspace’s is simple to use, and I love that out has teaching specific tools, such as a calculator and cobrowser, that both the teachers and students can interact with at the save time, and moreover it even allows you to annotate the contents of the cobrowser.

Cons

I don’t like that you can’t scroll horizontally when you upload a document. Also it’s quite annoying that you can’t download recordings and can only watch them within the lessonspace player. When you look up how to download the recording on their own website, they expect you to play the recording and screen record it. This was quite disappointing for me. Asides from that it is an excellent platform for online teaching.

Alternatives considered

[Zoom Workplace](https://www.capterra.com/p/144037/Zoom-Video-Conferencing/)

Reason for choosing Lessonspace

Zoom had a lot of the same features plus a dew, but I found Lessonspac included more features at lower prices and so Lessonspace it was!

Switched from

Google meet did not have any whiteboarding area, unless you upgraded to google workspace which a found was a on the slightly pricier side. Lessonspace offered all the same features that I needed, minus a few, but at a great price so I knew a switch was necessary.

### "There is no competition YET, but it must keep innovating to keep SEN teachers "

January 22, 2026

4.0

There is no comparison, now, but I am not yet settled because being able to go beyond just sharing a screen was priceless.

Pros

I love that everything for your lesson, even for your semester, can be laid out and organized in one space. The fact that this space is so interactive and fun to use is what pulls me again and again.

Cons

I hated losing the ability to share games for children. This year I have seriously considered leaving because of that. Working with ND students who need little incentives like coloring or playing a game online together, the loss is large. Moreover, I wish there was a way to see the entire space in an aerial view to find missing items. I am always writing to people -wasting their valuable time, because I lose pieces of my main space. Also, the library is so limited. Better to come together with Canva.

Switched from

Everything is here. It is a one-stop shop and the integration of tools recently is promising although quite expensive for teachers like myself who need to have a small number of students in an intervention space that spans many years of teaching. I also felt Zoom was less safe given pandemic events.

### "XL Tuition - Initial Feedback"

January 31, 2026

3.0

In general, I'm not sure how to describe it, but the platform is a bit "clunky" - i.e. not intuitive, and a little bit un-user-friendly. It would be fantastic if things could work more smoothly and obviously right from the beginning for our new tutors and learners. However, as we get used to the platform, I'm sure we'll become more fluent with it – and the awesome features hopefully will make it worthwhile.

Pros

I love the feature-rich environment – with graphs, equations, the library of numerous things to be able to bring in to a lesson. The infinite whiteboard, and multiple tabs gives a lot of versatility in creating teaching and learning space. The video display options are also pretty good. We hope that we can get the resources working nicely for our organisation and possibly even integrate Moodle. We'll see how it goes.

Cons

Unfortunately there are some challenges that we are finding. A number of our students join on their phones – and their browser may not be supported – so they only see a limited part of the screen. Even when turning the phone sideways, when still sees a very limited view – there doesn't seem to be a fullscreen option from the learners side. Tab management is a big area where I think things could be improved. Often, I'm finding that various tabs are "disappearing" behind the Main Room tab. Then what would be really helpful, is being able to save a tab, or archive it – rather than leaving it open as the only way to keep it. Without this feature, particular lesson space for the tutor and learner gets up with multitudes of tabs. I realise one can export and import, but it would be much better for it to be on the system – so, being able to save a tab, in that specific space – give it a name, and then reopen it when one wants to refer back to it.

### "Teething troubles"

May 15, 2026

4.0

Overall, I've been very happy with Lessonspace, despite the aforementioned problem with PDF downloads and turning on mic/camera.

Pros

I love the simplicity of use and the simple fact, that I can collaborate on the PDF document with my students by scrolling vertically, with the horizontal axis locked. Most other platforms of this type don't let me do that, and it's easy to get lost on an infinite space with no boundaries or sense of proportions/size. Also, I like the ability to integrate Lessonspace with other platforms. Personally, I use it with TutorBird LMS and it's working smoothly.

Cons

Unfortunately, when I download the edited PDF with our annotations and my comments to give my student as homework (I do it multiple times every day), I can only get a giant canvas of white with tiny strip of the pages with our edits in the middle. I would like to get multiple-page PDF like the original document, just with the edits I've made during the lesson. Also, my students often experience the problem, or a delay with launching the camera and microphone at the start of a meeting. They don't turn on immediately, but it takes 5-10 seconds to do so. Then everything works as expected.

### "Simple and good performance."

June 25, 2026

Very solid, very few performance issues and just what you want from an online classroom without the faff.

Pros

Lessonspace provides all the tools a teacher needs to provide high quality lessons online, and is very simple to get used to.

Cons

It would be useful to have a more obvious page/tab showing you your currently monthly usage and how much your bill is coming to if you go over your hours.

### "Great platform, terrible customer support"

January 27, 2026

2.0

This is primarily a B2B product. Tutoring companies such as mine, subscribe to the platform to deliver our product - teaching students. If something isn't working, we cannot do business. I feel that as soon as they signed me up, they disappeared. I have only ever has two issues: the first was with teacher on-boarding and the response I received to that question was one of the rudest responses I have ever had (my solution/workaround is to pay two of my teachers to train new tutors on my dime) and the second, with needing support for a teacher account. If this company had a robust support system and team, they would be a 10-star company.

Pros

The platform itself is great. The interface is good and my tutors and students really like it. Having all my tutors/teachers using the same platform makes our company look more professional. It integrates seamlessly with Teachworks which is fantastic. This is a big win for my small company and makes the downsides to this product \*almost\* worth it.

Cons

There is virtually NO support. No support line to call - only an AI-driven chat bot that takes days and days (if ever) to respond. Recently, what this meant for my business, is we had to resort to Zoom (at this point, for five sessions and counting) to tutor a student. All because there was some sort of glitch with a teachers registration and account. Something that possibly could have been solved in a five minute phone call. But despite an initial, unhelpful, response that took three days to receive, the issue is ongoing. I have reached out to sales, the support chat, email. NOTHING. I have gone from mildly irritated to totally irate. And this is student who works with other tutors in my organization and fully uses her LessonSpace account. We look unprofessional.

### "Excellent platform for empowering young learners online"

June 26, 2026

5.0

Our overall experience with Lessonspace has been excellent. As a nonprofit organization, Young Africans Technology depends on tools that can help us reach and empower young people through education. Lessonspace has supported our online Maths, Physics, Accounting, and Coding lessons very well. It has made learning more accessible, engaging, and organized for our students. The students love using it, and it has played an important role in helping us empower young people through technology and education.

Pros

Lessonspace has been very helpful for Young Africans Technology, a nonprofit organization that teaches Maths, Physics, Accounting, and Coding to young people from disadvantaged communities. The platform makes online teaching easier, more interactive, and more effective. It helps our students participate actively during lessons, understand difficult topics better, and enjoy learning online.

Cons

For coding lessons, one feature that would make Lessonspace even better is the ability to run code directly after writing it. At the moment, students can write and discuss code, but they need another tool to test or execute it. Adding a built-in code runner would make coding lessons more practical and interactive for both teachers and students.

### "Learning Curve"

July 3, 2026

5.0

Overall, lessonspace is a well-structured platform for students and teachers to have an interactive sesssion and pretty much simulates a live class session.

Pros

It's a good annotation and teaching platform for students to write on the board and upload practice problems. I also enjoy the leading mode allowing student and teachers to see the same content instantaneuously.

Cons

Sometimes there is a lag in the board images and after uploading like 3+ documents and creating multiple boards, there's usually a glitch with changing the pencil colors (the pencil color stays the same for a while even though you change it) and it only corrects itself if I switch boards

### "Excellent platform for online tutoring"

July 24, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Lessonspace has been excellent. The platform is reliable, easy to use, and has everything we need to deliver high-quality online tutoring. The virtual classroom works smoothly, and both tutors and students have found it intuitive. Combined with the responsive support team and continuous improvements, Lessonspace has become an important part of how we run our tutoring sessions.

Pros

What I liked most about Lessonspace was their excellent communication and friendly customer service. Whenever I had a question or needed help, the support team responded quickly and was always professional and helpful. They genuinely care about their users and are open to feedback, which has made my overall experience very positive.

Cons

I haven't experienced any major downsides so far. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that it takes a little time to explore all the features when you first get started, but once you're familiar with the platform, it's very easy to use.

### "Smooth Collaboration with Room to Improve on Mobile"

September 22, 2025

4.0

Great! Lessonspace has been a reliable platform for online learning and collaboration. It balances powerful features with ease of use, and it has made both teaching and learning much smoother. The whiteboard and collaboration tools are intuitive, and the video conferencing integration works well most of the time. While the mobile experience could use some attention, the desktop version offers strong performance and makes it easy to manage sessions, share knowledge, and engage with students effectively.

Pros

I like how each of the tools is smooth and responsive, and I really appreciate that there are keyboard shortcuts. This makes it easy to draw, annotate, and illustrate quickly without breaking the flow of teaching.

Cons

The mobile interface needs improvement, it feels clunky and is almost unusable. I’d also like the option to collapse the video feed while keeping it active, so that the whiteboard can be used in full-screen mode without distraction.

Switched from

[Zoom Workplace](https://www.capterra.com/p/144037/Zoom-Video-Conferencing/)

I switched to Lessonspace because it offers a more complete virtual classroom environment. Unlike Zoom, which mainly focuses on video conferencing, Lessonspace integrates an interactive whiteboard, collaboration tools, and classroom management features all in one platform. This makes it much easier to teach, illustrate concepts, and keep students engaged without juggling multiple apps.

### "Best Virtual Learning Platform in its Category"

June 23, 2025

5.0

I love it. Performance for price is the best in its class. Classes and lessons can be conducted all over the world with decent real-feel. Only downside is trying to get documents that now have notes, worked-out problems, or revisions saved.

Pros

Very easy to navigate from first use. Good range of basic writing tools (type, pen, highlighter, shapes, colors, etc.). Can upload a range of documents. Can't beat the price!

Cons

Can't re-download documents from interface (often will have important notes, explanations, revisions, calculations etc. on it). Takes a lot of processing power and bandwidth (not compared to gaming, though) - older laptops and for example public wifi connections won't sustain clear connection with video/audio.

### "Great online tutoring platform"

May 11, 2025

5.0

I have used lessonspace through a company that I subcontract for. I liked it so much during the 6 months that I have used it, that I decided to create my own account. As of now, I do not regret this decision.

Pros

I like the fact that I am able to see my students as we are tutoring and they can see me when working (unlike other platforms). I also like that my students can write on a document and it remains where it is supposed to be (also unlike other platforms). I will continue to use this platform for all of my online tutoring needs.

Cons

As of now, I have not found anything that I do not like. So far, it has been easy to navigate and to use for both my students as well as myself.

### "A perfect platform for an online tutor or teacher"

May 23, 2025

5.0

Pros

After launching my tutoring business a few months ago, I spent a lot of time trialling platforms like Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and others. While each had their strengths, none were truly designed with teaching in mind — they’re built for meetings, not lessons. Then I discovered Lessonspace, and I’m so glad I did. It’s tailor-made for tutors and packed with tools that make online teaching smooth, interactive, and professional. Any minor features I thought could be improved are already being worked on, which shows just how proactive the Lessonspace team is. I also had a free demo call with \[sensitive content hidden\], who was fantastic at walking me through the platform. Overall, the subscription pricing is very reasonable for what’s included. Highly recommended for any online educator!

Cons

At times I have noticed some minor glitches, but nothing in comparison to all the other platforms I have tried.

### "So pleased with Lessonspace and how easy it is to use!"

April 29, 2025

5.0

Lessonspace is awesome! It is super intuitive and easy to use, I felt comfortable using it in less than 15 minutes of exploring its features. Honestly, I was skeptical when I first switched from Zoom to Lessonspace because I had always used Zoom for tutoring sessions in the past, but Lessonspace is just so much better for tutoring and anything where you want to work collaboratively with other people.

Pros

I love how easy it is to upload documents to lessonspace, and the fact that all parties can write/annotate them together. This makes it so easy for me to see the work that my students are doing and for me to catch mistakes as they happen. I also love that everything that we work on and write down during the session stays preserved in the space so students can go back and review all our work really easily.

Cons

That when I, as the leader, scroll through the document, it scrolls for everyone else watching as well. It just becomes a little annoying if I scroll to give us more space while someone else is writing and it messes up their writing.

### "A Rare Thing: Technology That Behaves Itself"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been consistently positive. It’s a platform that respects both the teacher’s time and the student’s experience. Lessons run smoothly, the tools support rather than hinder, and one is left with the rare sensation that the technology is on one’s side. In a world where many digital platforms seem to exist purely to test one’s patience, Lessonspace is a welcome exception: calm, competent, and quietly effective.

Pros

Lessonspace’s greatest strength is that it quietly gets on with its job. The value for money is excellent when you consider how much time it saves not having to troubleshoot mid-lesson—time which, as any teacher knows, is the only truly non-renewable resource. The learning curve is refreshingly gentle. One doesn’t need to embark on a spiritual journey or consult a series of obscure tutorials to understand how it works. You log in, and—brace yourself—it makes sense. In terms of online learning, it strikes an ideal balance: interactive without being chaotic. The notes and text tools are clear and responsive, and crucially, they don’t feel like an afterthought. Chat and communication features are similarly well-judged—present when needed, but not constantly clamouring for attention like an overenthusiastic assistant. Assignment management is straightforward and practical, which is precisely what one wants. No labyrinthine systems, no unnecessary flourishes—just a functional, reliable way to set and review work. Security, while not something one notices in a dramatic sense (which is rather the point), feels solid and reassuring. One isn’t left wondering who else might be wandering into the lesson uninvited.

Cons

If one were being determinedly critical, there are moments where one thinks, “Could this be just slightly more customisable?” A few additional tweaks or personalisation options might elevate it from excellent to faintly smug about its excellence. But these are minor quibbles—more the sort of thing one mentions to avoid sounding unreasonably content.

### "Lesson space"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been very positive. It’s easy to use, and the shared whiteboard makes lessons interactive and engaging. Compared to Zoom, it feels more collaborative, helping students stay involved and understand concepts more clearly.

Pros

I like using Lessonspace because it makes my lessons more interactive and engaging. The shared whiteboard allows both me and the student to write, draw, and solve problems at the same time, which feels more like working together in person. This feature helps students stay focused and participate actively instead of just listening. Compared to Zoom, it offers a better learning experience because it supports real collaboration rather than one-sided teaching. Overall, it creates a more dynamic environment where ideas can be explained clearly, questions can be answered quickly, and students feel more involved in the learning process every day.

Cons

How it is in browser and no app. Meaning when i join from ipad, sometimes because of my hand whilst writing, it flips off the screen.

### "Great Tool! But a bit rough around the edges."

December 23, 2025

4.0

Overall my experience with Lessonspace is a very positive one! It is a great tool to help the learners and the tutors deliver sessions seamlessly, there are just a few technical smidges I would like to see addressed.

Pros

Lessonspace is a very useful tool to deliver lessons, as I have used it now for just over 2 years and have found that it has a lot of very useful tools: Not least its whiteboard function which lets me upload worksheets so that I can work on them with my students in real time

Cons

Sometimes, I have some issues with lessonspace when it comes to logging in, where if I have signed into the main portal and go into my sessions, it won't load the part where I can see my video. If I wait a few hours it usually solves itself but that will mean I miss my session and have to make other arrangements.

### "Tutor who loves lesson space for remote session!"

January 30, 2026

5.0

Super positive! This is a great platform for remote tutoring and would happily recommend it to any educator who does remote tutoring. Far superior to simply sharing your screen and having someone watch you work, and then having them share their screen afterwards.

Pros

I love the concept of the interactive whiteboard, and I feel that lesson space is very user friendly. Being able to take screenshots and drag them into the board, resize images and work collaboratively is amazing.

Cons

I haven't found anything about lesson space that I didn't like. The hardest part is taking the time to figure out what the buttons do but that is also part of the fun of it.

### "Has potential but needs work"

April 7, 2026

4.0

I just wish it worked more smoothly and were easier to see. It's a great idea, but it doesn't function on-the-go as well as it needs to for me, regardless of wifi or cellular data.

Pros

It's a great concept and has a lot of great tools. It's nice that you can upload documents and share screens.

Cons

It's not well mobile-optimized and is very hard to see when someone is sharing their screen. It doesn't seem like it has the ability to share screen from the phone either. Sometimes it mutes me or crashes or lags when I try to switch to another tab, and it drains the battery a lot and tries to make the phone quite hot, even for an iPhone.

### "Interactive"

December 13, 2025

4.0

Its a great platform to stay connected to your organization. It has technical issues at times, like any online platform, but an overall great tool.

Pros

The interactive tools are the best, the control the instructor has over student use is also helpful.

Cons

The connection is not always strong, which causes lagging and unexpected sign outs. It takes too long to load/reload regardless of connection.

### "Nice tool, makes education better. "

September 23, 2025

5.0

Tremendous, I actually been welcoming others to use Lessonspace since I think it has a lot of potential for education on virtual environments

Pros

The fact that my student is able to check my screen, movements, pdf annotations, everything at the same time.

Cons

I don't like its blurry effect or its lack of personalization on the video settings when used in a videocall.

### "Solid Product I Strongly Recommend for Online Tutoring"

May 22, 2025

4.0

I have enjoyed using Lessonspace to provide online tutoring services. It is convenient, effective, easy to use, and easy to share with tutoring students.

Pros

It is fantastic that this single platform provides video conferencing and live joint-editing abilities alongside a stable repository of whiteboard and document materials to refer back to after video conferencing sessions end.

Cons

Sometimes the Lessonspace platform can be a bit laggy (although that may be my computer, not Lessonspace). It is also a bit inconvenient how the whiteboard and document tabs are separate interfaces. For example, I would love to be able to annotate a document tab with the whiteboard tools and it is inconvenient that documents uploaded as a whiteboard tab become uneditable. It seems to me that these two interfaces could be integrated into a single tab type that provides the best of both worlds.

### "Great tool for interactive meetings"

April 19, 2026

4.0

Pros

It's easy to use when it works. From the beginning with sharing an invitation and entering a space for a meeting, it's very straightforward and user-friendly. There are many helpful features, like the library for accessing any documents that I'd like to use or even add myself, and cobrowser.

Cons

Cobrowser works when it works-which is not always. Frequently the page refreshes automatically in such a way that you need to re-sign in on a website every 20 minutes.

### "big app with little overheads "

May 19, 2026

5.0

I am very pleased it's easy to use and provides upscaling opportunity. I think some basic systems for students to acces their spaces or files after the lesson would be good

Pros

Very convenient and seems to work quite smoothly, I didn't experience any issues, so reliable. There are some tools to be suitable with maybe more primary school teaching

Cons

The tool sets need to be broader, more table type tools and organisers to make things easier , text input tool is not very smart.
