### "RECOMMENDED CHILD FRIENDLY WHITEBOARD"

August 18, 2025

5.0

Overall, I would recommend lessonspace as an adult/child friendly whiteboard facility that allows learning to take place within a safe, easy to follow environment.

Pros

This has proved good value for money. It was easy to learn how to use it (and I have been using it within a tutoring app already so I was looking to find a whiteboard that was similar to that). The children adapt easily to using the tool bar with their stylus pen. I like the layout and ability to share different websites within the lesson.

Cons

Sometimes my stylus pen stops working if I have to click on a pop up during a lesson but that might be a laptop issue rather than lessonspace one.

### "General Feedback"

April 13, 2026

4.0

It's definitely been a time saver. Occasionally, students have issues joining sessions, but overall it's a great tool!

Pros

Simplicity and scalability. I like how I can also see who's active during a session. I like the overall design

Cons

Cannot simply copy a lesson link from Teachworks. Need to open it and then copy from Lessonspace. I would prefer deeper integrations with Teachworks.

### "XL Tuition - Initial Feedback"

January 31, 2026

3.0

In general, I'm not sure how to describe it, but the platform is a bit "clunky" - i.e. not intuitive, and a little bit un-user-friendly. It would be fantastic if things could work more smoothly and obviously right from the beginning for our new tutors and learners. However, as we get used to the platform, I'm sure we'll become more fluent with it – and the awesome features hopefully will make it worthwhile.

Pros

I love the feature-rich environment – with graphs, equations, the library of numerous things to be able to bring in to a lesson. The infinite whiteboard, and multiple tabs gives a lot of versatility in creating teaching and learning space. The video display options are also pretty good. We hope that we can get the resources working nicely for our organisation and possibly even integrate Moodle. We'll see how it goes.

Cons

Unfortunately there are some challenges that we are finding. A number of our students join on their phones – and their browser may not be supported – so they only see a limited part of the screen. Even when turning the phone sideways, when still sees a very limited view – there doesn't seem to be a fullscreen option from the learners side. Tab management is a big area where I think things could be improved. Often, I'm finding that various tabs are "disappearing" behind the Main Room tab. Then what would be really helpful, is being able to save a tab, or archive it – rather than leaving it open as the only way to keep it. Without this feature, particular lesson space for the tutor and learner gets up with multitudes of tabs. I realise one can export and import, but it would be much better for it to be on the system – so, being able to save a tab, in that specific space – give it a name, and then reopen it when one wants to refer back to it.

### "Finally a platform fitting my tutor needs"

March 31, 2026

5.0

Pros

I started using Lessonspace a month ago and I am so pleased I did. First of all, my students and I enjoy the whiteboard tools so much that I incorporate them every time now. No internal bugs, no interruptions.

Cons

I cannot think of features that I truly dislike about Lessonspace. However, I think it might be trouble for some tutors to stick ton their subscription plan given the gap between the number of students in different options is quite big.

### "A Rare Thing: Technology That Behaves Itself"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been consistently positive. It’s a platform that respects both the teacher’s time and the student’s experience. Lessons run smoothly, the tools support rather than hinder, and one is left with the rare sensation that the technology is on one’s side. In a world where many digital platforms seem to exist purely to test one’s patience, Lessonspace is a welcome exception: calm, competent, and quietly effective.

Pros

Lessonspace’s greatest strength is that it quietly gets on with its job. The value for money is excellent when you consider how much time it saves not having to troubleshoot mid-lesson—time which, as any teacher knows, is the only truly non-renewable resource. The learning curve is refreshingly gentle. One doesn’t need to embark on a spiritual journey or consult a series of obscure tutorials to understand how it works. You log in, and—brace yourself—it makes sense. In terms of online learning, it strikes an ideal balance: interactive without being chaotic. The notes and text tools are clear and responsive, and crucially, they don’t feel like an afterthought. Chat and communication features are similarly well-judged—present when needed, but not constantly clamouring for attention like an overenthusiastic assistant. Assignment management is straightforward and practical, which is precisely what one wants. No labyrinthine systems, no unnecessary flourishes—just a functional, reliable way to set and review work. Security, while not something one notices in a dramatic sense (which is rather the point), feels solid and reassuring. One isn’t left wondering who else might be wandering into the lesson uninvited.

Cons

If one were being determinedly critical, there are moments where one thinks, “Could this be just slightly more customisable?” A few additional tweaks or personalisation options might elevate it from excellent to faintly smug about its excellence. But these are minor quibbles—more the sort of thing one mentions to avoid sounding unreasonably content.

### "Great Price, Super Effective as well as Productive and You don't have to be Techy!!"

March 16, 2026

5.0

Lessonspace is super easy to use. Uploading anything, from complete reading passages to workbook pages is simple. I can use a website and have students annotate just as they would in person. My sessions are always interactive, productive and effective!!

Pros

This platform is easy to use. Uploading textbook reading pages and worksheets students can type on, it extremely easy. With no techy skills I'm able to engage my students in effective, productive sessions. A GREAT pro is that I'm able to upload pages and leave them tabbed, all ready for next session. Also, using a website & sharing screen while student can still annotate is so useful. The low monthly fee enables me to keep more of my tutoring earnings!

Cons

Actually, there is nothing in the year I have been using this platform that has disappointed. Only thing is that I'd have to pay a little more if I'd want to access session recordings.

### "An intuitive and interactive platform that enhances online tutoring"

March 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Lessonspace has been very positive. It provides a reliable and intuitive environment for online tutoring, making it easy to deliver engaging and interactive lessons. It has helped me improve how I explain concepts and connect with students, particularly through its visual and collaborative features. With a few minor improvements, it has the potential to be an even more powerful teaching platform.

Pros

What I liked most about Lessonspace was the interactive whiteboard and all-in-one functionality. It allows me to explain concepts clearly in real time using diagrams, annotations, and step-by-step working, which is especially useful for subjects like maths and science. Having video, chat, and teaching tools in one place makes sessions feel smooth and well-structured, without needing to switch between platforms.

Cons

At times, the platform can feel slightly limited in advanced features, such as exporting or saving work in more flexible formats.

### "Lesson space"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been very positive. It’s easy to use, and the shared whiteboard makes lessons interactive and engaging. Compared to Zoom, it feels more collaborative, helping students stay involved and understand concepts more clearly.

Pros

I like using Lessonspace because it makes my lessons more interactive and engaging. The shared whiteboard allows both me and the student to write, draw, and solve problems at the same time, which feels more like working together in person. This feature helps students stay focused and participate actively instead of just listening. Compared to Zoom, it offers a better learning experience because it supports real collaboration rather than one-sided teaching. Overall, it creates a more dynamic environment where ideas can be explained clearly, questions can be answered quickly, and students feel more involved in the learning process every day.

Cons

How it is in browser and no app. Meaning when i join from ipad, sometimes because of my hand whilst writing, it flips off the screen.

### "Great Product, Could use some extra functionality "

April 13, 2026

5.0

Good overall! I think as I get more comfortable with it I'm really going to enjoy using it a lot, but there are some small improvements I'd like.

Pros

Its super easy to connect with students and the multiple tabs make organizing my spaces very easy and convenient.

Cons

I think the whiteboard could use more text options. Its a shame that I can't do simple things like bullet points or adjusting the color of individual words for emphasis.

### "Has potential but needs work"

April 7, 2026

4.0

I just wish it worked more smoothly and were easier to see. It's a great idea, but it doesn't function on-the-go as well as it needs to for me, regardless of wifi or cellular data.

Pros

It's a great concept and has a lot of great tools. It's nice that you can upload documents and share screens.

Cons

It's not well mobile-optimized and is very hard to see when someone is sharing their screen. It doesn't seem like it has the ability to share screen from the phone either. Sometimes it mutes me or crashes or lags when I try to switch to another tab, and it drains the battery a lot and tries to make the phone quite hot, even for an iPhone.

### "Great online tutoring platform"

May 11, 2025

5.0

I have used lessonspace through a company that I subcontract for. I liked it so much during the 6 months that I have used it, that I decided to create my own account. As of now, I do not regret this decision.

Pros

I like the fact that I am able to see my students as we are tutoring and they can see me when working (unlike other platforms). I also like that my students can write on a document and it remains where it is supposed to be (also unlike other platforms). I will continue to use this platform for all of my online tutoring needs.

Cons

As of now, I have not found anything that I do not like. So far, it has been easy to navigate and to use for both my students as well as myself.

### "Game changer for Maths tutors "

February 11, 2025

5.0

Great, would highly recommend and a great price!

Pros

The fact that the link remains the same once it is created so it saves a lot of time and admin + makes it easier for my students. Equally, the link can be used anytime and can be accessed by myself, the tutor as well as the students so they can refer back to anything from our lesson. It’s great that the lesson notes are downloadable - a game changer for me and again saves me a lot of time. The lesson space itself is very interactive with the ability of screen share, whiteboard and great tools for a Maths tutor! You can upload multiple worksheets onto multiple tabs or keep building on a current tab. More importantly, the ability to change background colours or have grids can be really helpful for students who are visual learners. It’s also great at showing with party has any connection issues and how to solve them.

Cons

Nothing in particular at the moment though a bigger range of colours could be helpful for the pen and highlighter tool. Equally more maths shapes. A protractor and a ruler could be great too (though I know they use to have this and it seems it was removed.) Otherwise the current shapes and line/graph tools are really great.

### "My experience with lessonspace. "

December 16, 2025

5.0

Lessonspace enables me to tutor privatley, on a consistent and reliable platform. It is nice to be able to plan lessons and save slides as zip file to then use later.

Pros

I am a tutor with MyTutor, as well tutoring privately. It is convenient that mytutor uses lessonspace as well. The camera features, leading mode, and general whitboard tools are really good for my style of tutoring.

Cons

The graphing tool is not good enough to use in lessons. The sizing isn't consistent and goes will go weird (sometimes really long of tall) and I have to scroll or zoom out really far to find the new graph.

### "Lesson Space is Awesome"

December 5, 2024

4.0

When I started my business I used Zoom but ran into a lot of functional problems such as long loading times, using the whiteboard feature, and sharing files. Lesson Space actually works like it should allowing me to interact with remote students in real time rather than me having to do everything and they just watch.

Pros

I love the whiteboard because I can post a worksheet on it and watch the student complete the work in real time. The share screen feature is a go-to for me especially when my student and I need to research something together or I need to share an image that I can't post. I also like that I can post homework and the student can complete the homework in Lesson Space outside of their sessions.

Cons

I hate the text feature. I would like to see a spell checker AND be able to bold, italicize, and underline text.

### "So pleased with Lessonspace and how easy it is to use!"

April 29, 2025

5.0

Lessonspace is awesome! It is super intuitive and easy to use, I felt comfortable using it in less than 15 minutes of exploring its features. Honestly, I was skeptical when I first switched from Zoom to Lessonspace because I had always used Zoom for tutoring sessions in the past, but Lessonspace is just so much better for tutoring and anything where you want to work collaboratively with other people.

Pros

I love how easy it is to upload documents to lessonspace, and the fact that all parties can write/annotate them together. This makes it so easy for me to see the work that my students are doing and for me to catch mistakes as they happen. I also love that everything that we work on and write down during the session stays preserved in the space so students can go back and review all our work really easily.

Cons

That when I, as the leader, scroll through the document, it scrolls for everyone else watching as well. It just becomes a little annoying if I scroll to give us more space while someone else is writing and it messes up their writing.

### "A Game-Changer for Interactive, Structured Online Teaching"

June 23, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been incredibly positive. As someone who designs and teaches structured literacy lessons, I need a platform that’s both flexible and reliable—and Lessonspace delivers on both fronts. It allows me to preload materials, guide students with visual and tactile tools, and keep sessions organized and consistent. The interactive features make it easy to bring curriculum to life in a virtual setting, and the tech is stable, which gives me peace of mind during lessons. Whether I’m working one-on-one or with a group, Lessonspace supports the kind of intentional, high-quality instruction I aim to provide.

Pros

As both a tutor and curriculum developer, what I appreciated most about Lessonspace was how intuitively it supported structured, interactive learning. The platform makes it easy to design and deliver lessons that are multisensory and responsive. I loved being able to preload visuals and activities, then guide students through them in real time using the shared whiteboard and drag-and-drop tools. From a curriculum standpoint, Lessonspace helped me bring my content to life—and from a tutor’s perspective, it kept students engaged and made managing the flow of the lesson effortless. It’s rare to find a platform that supports both creativity and consistency this well.

Cons

One limitation of Lessonspace is the lack of support for animations and embedded videos. As a curriculum developer, I rely heavily on dynamic visuals to bring lessons to life, and not being able to integrate short animations or directly embed video clips limits the range of engagement tools I can use. While the platform is excellent for interactive teaching, adding these features would take it to the next level for multimedia-rich instruction.

### "Easy to Learn and Use"

April 21, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been great and easy to use. The students I work with on the program are able to pick up using it very quickly.

Pros

This is very useful for working 1:1 or up to 3 students at a time. I am able to organize documents and my students are able to easily work with the system.

Cons

This program is difficult to use with more than a few students because of how moving them over to the side view as a group changes the viewing of the document. It is convenient to be able to see what the students can see with the outline but when there are more than a few it gets difficult to read. Paying per second rather than a flat fee also makes it difficult for me to purchase my own plan to use outside of what the company has set up for me to use with the students hired through them. I have more students outside of tutorax who would benefit from this program but the pay structure makes it difficult.

### "Does the job for remote tutoring"

November 7, 2025

3.0

It does the job. See "cons" for suggested improvements. I'm not aware of any other software on the market that allows what LessonSpace does so I think it fills a nice niche.

Pros

Being able to upload files and draw on them Co-browser is neat Different tabs to keep things organized

Cons

\*\*\*I can't copy my own drawings, so if I draw a template, I have to redraw it for every single problem that involves it.\*\*\*\* Text box doesn't start with the cursor in it, very unintuitive to type The tool bar is far too busy. Consider consolidating and making tabs. Speaking of tabs, switching between tabs is also a hassle. They each take up too much space so I can't see more than 3 tab titles at a time. \*\*\*\*Trying to erase my drawings on top of a file that I've uploaded more often than not just erases the entire file behind it instead of the drawing. There should be a way to lock the file that was uploaded so that all edits are made exclusively to the drawn/typed notes.\*\*\*\* Unsure how feasible this would be, but having a ChemDraw-like ability to shortcut draw molecules would be so so effective and a real game changer for chemistry.

### "Interactive"

December 13, 2025

4.0

Its a great platform to stay connected to your organization. It has technical issues at times, like any online platform, but an overall great tool.

Pros

The interactive tools are the best, the control the instructor has over student use is also helpful.

Cons

The connection is not always strong, which causes lagging and unexpected sign outs. It takes too long to load/reload regardless of connection.

### "Great platform, could use a few tweaks! "

April 11, 2025

4.0

I have been using Lesson Space for almost a year. I am enjoying it so far, but would love a few upgrades like adding hyperlinks, more educational games, and perhaps an editable slide show feature.

Pros

I like having one place for all my student's materials. I also LOVE the cobrowser feature.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to add hyperlinks and see tabs without showing them to the student.
