Pros Super easy to use for our PTO. User friendly and more affordable than the clunkier software we used last year. Very happy that our team can work together to build a site that works great for our school needs. Cons We are still waiting on a payment transfer but hopefully that will be smooth. The visual look of the page is beautiful and clean and I love how we can even have our own webpage with all our open collections in one place. Pros Clean appearance, easy to set up and easy for our families to use. The value for the cost of our membership is fantastic since it is bundled with our MoneyMinder subscription. Cons Sometimes it’s hard to have to click through so many pages. Example we have a sign up to donate money or items and the first page only shows the option to donate money and you don’t see the option to donate food items until you move on the next page. " April 16, 2026 5.0 This site has everything you need to get started to and to create custom forms for sign ups as well as waivers for any classes. People using your collection can easily pay for classes using several different methods. It's great. Pros I have been using Cheddar Up for several years now to handle all of my yoga registrations for my classes. It is a comprehensive site that has so many wonderful features from building your forms to adding a waiver and collecting payment. It's easy to use and looks polished and professional too. I love it! I'd definitely use again and also recommend to friends who are interested in doing a peer-to-peer fundraiser. Pros The platform had a nice design and visual layout. With the first subscription level, things were quite automated. We ran a peer-to-peer ski "lap-a-thon" and I was the organizer, as well as my son participating. From both an organizational and a participant standpoint, it was quite easy after a little bit of a learning curve. Customer service was great. Organizing and transferring money was a breeze. Cons It was a little challenging to find the correct links to share via text or on social media. I would have liked to attended a demo session but there weren't many that worked for my time frame. Highly Recommend" September 6, 2025 5.0 Our overall experience with cheddar up is extremely positive. We are going into our third year with the company and we use it all the time. It has increased our member engagement and fundraising efforts exponentially and we couldn't imagine how we would be able to do all the things we do without it. Pros It is so user-friendly and easy to accept credit cards for our PTA. We love that the fees are paid by the customer and they are cheaper than other credit card platforms. There are so many great templates and different things you can create with your fundraisers and donation drives. We also love the point-of-sale features and how easy it is too transfer the money to our bank account. Cons Some times the credit card reader and point of sale give us trouble in the moment of collecting money. This could be a wifi issue or software issue, but I don't think it is a platform issue. August 18, 2025 5.0 Cheddar Up has been a great way for our school, coaches, and booster club to quickly and easily collect team dues, player fees and sell event tickets. It is super easy to setup a payment link and the questionnaire and forms features make collecting player, member and guest information incredibly easy. Pros Cheddar Up is incredibly easy to quickly setup payment links for team collections, events or other activities we need for our school booster club. Linking to our bank is easy and money transfers are generally 1-2 days. Having the option for donors and payers to cover fees makes sure we raise as much money has possible and is much more affordable than other credit card payment solutions. Cons I've had no bad experiences, but if I had to nitpick, sometimes updated URLs to payment links can be tricky if you're duplicating a collection for a new team or year. That would make it easier to promote specific items without having to create a unique collection. The payment process is super easy to use. We really love the capabilities to have several fundraisers open for different events and being able to track each events page. It makes it super easy for our treasurer to know what the money being transferred is for and accounting purposes. We also love being able to attach a form with payment that can help distinguish which child receives credit for a donation that was received. Cons Honestly we haven’t found anything we don’t like about CheddarUp! It really is so easy to use and perfect for our non-profit school organization. Everything went through flawlessly. The school got the correct notification on their end that I paid and everything was set. Pros My son used this for his school dance and I thought it was so neat. Before, we would hand in cash, check, etc to pay for the dance. But this was a Glow-In-The-Dark dance. It included a GITD pack so they put the price of that and the dance in one place and we could pay for it all online. Cons Nothing. Treasurer Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "CheddarUp makes Online Payments easy for a PTA" August 29, 2023 5.0 We have been able to pull in much more money effectively with CheddarUp. We find our parents and teachers are able to pay online much quicker than trying to remember to send in a check or cash for whatever event we are collecting for. CheddarUp also provides direct links and QR codes to your individual collections for you to add to flyers and emails. My life as a treasurer and an event planner much easier! Pros CheddarUp makes online payment collections a breeze for our PTA. Before CheddarUp, online payment options such as Zelle or Square were too complicated as each individual payments from a student/parents would need to be its own line item in a report. It also would need to be deciphered to which collection it would go to. CheddarUp batches everything into one deposit per collection. You can organize each collection into its own batch on the back end, plus pull detailed reports on the payments. This worked especially well for us during out PTA Membership drive where we needed additional information such as student name, teacher name, emails, and phone numbers. Cons Obviously, advertising is what pulls in your customers, but I felt slightly misled by all the features advertised. I found out upon signing up, some of the features I wanted to use were behind a pay wall. I understand the platform needs to make money, but I wish it had been mentioned in the advertising so I could expect it. Luckily, CheddarUp offered me a discount code and we were able to pay for the mid-tier and get some of the features we needed. I have no complaints, and have recommended it to people in need of a platform like this. Pros As vice president of my son’s school PTA, I was looking for a way to solve the problem of managing our associations’s membership drive with ease. Previously, the membership drive was a very disjointed, manual, paper process. Using Cheddar Up, I’ve been able to automate the process. Our members have been able to join our PTA (various membership levels) and pay dues (various amounts) either by credit card, cash or check. I was worried I’d hear a lot of mumbling and complaints about the convenience fee, which we opted to pass on to our members. I’ve received zero complaints. Since implementing our membership collection, I’ve created collections to support other campaigns which require payments, such as direct donation, event sponsorship, and pre-sale of various tickets for our Harvest Festival. Easy to implement and use, and the reporting is exactly what I need. Also, I’ve reached out twice to Cheddar Up support with questions, and they’ve responded promptly and thoughtfully both times. Cons Not a deal breaker, but Cheddar Up’s POS credit card reader requires an internet connection (i.e. wifi, hotspot, cellular network) to use. This is challenging for our PTA because our school is in a cellular dead zone, and the school is very hesitant to allow us to join their network. I don't know how I could've done this without Cheddar Up! Pros Thank goodness an accountant let me know about Cheddar Up! I'm able to set up a website, send emails, process credit card payments and keep track of attendees. All for free! This is awesome! A Chat button is the easiest way to get help. The help is excellent. Cons There is a learning curve with this program, just like any new software. There are videos and articles you can access, but that's a bit overwhelming. Instead of only accepting cash or checks, we can now accept credit card payments. Additionally, being able to customize the information we capture has been very useful. Pros We utilize Cheddar Up throughout the year for different events. At re-charter time, we use it not only to collect payments from families, but to also capture their contact information so that we can update our roster. When we have campouts, we have a limited number of platform tents, so being able to track inventory counts is great as well. It's so easy to run reports from the system too. Cons As a non-profit organization, we wish that all of the functionality could have been made available to us at a lower price point. Reason for choosing Cheddar Up We originally started using Cheddar Up because it was free and very easy to implement. It was very easy to set up and to use. It made this part of our organization that much easier. June 20, 2023 5.0 CheddarUp has really streamlined our player fee collection and communication process, and we are looking to expand our use of CheddarUp to collecting entry fees for our annual tournament. Pros I love the online payment system! It is secure, integrates fully with our accounting software and is convenient for our families. The processing fees are minimal and we are looking to expand our use of CheddarUp to more than just collecting player fees. Cons I can't think of any disadvantages or areas for improvement.
