Pros Super easy to use for our PTO. User friendly and more affordable than the clunkier software we used last year. Very happy that our team can work together to build a site that works great for our school needs. Cons We are still waiting on a payment transfer but hopefully that will be smooth. The platform allows our PTA to be more efficient with all sign ups and donations in one place instead of using another website for sign ups. The visual look of the page is beautiful and clean and I love how we can even have our own webpage with all our open collections in one place. Pros Clean appearance, easy to set up and easy for our families to use. The value for the cost of our membership is fantastic since it is bundled with our MoneyMinder subscription. Cons Sometimes it’s hard to have to click through so many pages. Example we have a sign up to donate money or items and the first page only shows the option to donate money and you don’t see the option to donate food items until you move on the next page. I'd definitely use again and also recommend to friends who are interested in doing a peer-to-peer fundraiser. Pros The platform had a nice design and visual layout. With the first subscription level, things were quite automated. We ran a peer-to-peer ski "lap-a-thon" and I was the organizer, as well as my son participating. From both an organizational and a participant standpoint, it was quite easy after a little bit of a learning curve. Customer service was great. Organizing and transferring money was a breeze. Cons It was a little challenging to find the correct links to share via text or on social media. I would have liked to attended a demo session but there weren't many that worked for my time frame. Troop Leader Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Joy to use " March 27, 2026 5.0 Cheddar Up has overall been an absolute joy of an experience, my troop leaders and myself love to use it and we don’t have any issues with it. It’s easier for us to create a Cheddar Up for our parents and send a link out versus telling them in person or through email or text and then asking for cash. It’s also good for our service unit since there’s a variety of troops with different ages and levels and needs and we’re able to create a campaign where people can just go and select their needs and pay. Then we can pull a report and see what all is needed. Pros I believe that Cheddar Up has been very helpful in the way that my Girl Scout troop conducts business. We use the upgraded feature and are able to accept money for troop dues for outings that we go on for basic necessities and it has been very easy to use for parents and Troop Leader leaders. Payment processing is not an issue with Cheddar Up. There is a slight fee that our parents pay or we pay for them to use the services but we don’t have to take cash payments anymore and it seems like it’s more convenient for our families. Of course there are many features that Cheddar Up offers so it is a learning curve to get started, but once you get the hang of it, you’re moving very swiftly through the system. Cons There isn’t anything that I don’t like about Cheddar Up services it’s more of you having to learn how to use it to the best of your ability and for what you’re looking for. Highly Recommend" September 6, 2025 5.0 Our overall experience with cheddar up is extremely positive. We are going into our third year with the company and we use it all the time. It has increased our member engagement and fundraising efforts exponentially and we couldn't imagine how we would be able to do all the things we do without it. Pros It is so user-friendly and easy to accept credit cards for our PTA. We love that the fees are paid by the customer and they are cheaper than other credit card platforms. There are so many great templates and different things you can create with your fundraisers and donation drives. We also love the point-of-sale features and how easy it is too transfer the money to our bank account. Cons Some times the credit card reader and point of sale give us trouble in the moment of collecting money. This could be a wifi issue or software issue, but I don't think it is a platform issue. August 18, 2025 5.0 Cheddar Up has been a great way for our school, coaches, and booster club to quickly and easily collect team dues, player fees and sell event tickets. It is super easy to setup a payment link and the questionnaire and forms features make collecting player, member and guest information incredibly easy. Pros Cheddar Up is incredibly easy to quickly setup payment links for team collections, events or other activities we need for our school booster club. Linking to our bank is easy and money transfers are generally 1-2 days. Having the option for donors and payers to cover fees makes sure we raise as much money has possible and is much more affordable than other credit card payment solutions. Cons I've had no bad experiences, but if I had to nitpick, sometimes updated URLs to payment links can be tricky if you're duplicating a collection for a new team or year. Pros It's integrations with Zapier and MoneyMinder are really helpful for a small club. Cons I wish we could create QR codes for Items in a collection rather than just the entire collection. That would make it easier to promote specific items without having to create a unique collection. PTA President/ Scouts Events Coordinator Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Perfect for Non-Profits" March 12, 2023 5.0 With Non-Profits such as PTAs and Girl Scouts, it is hard to find a system to accept non-cash purchases that offer low cost to either the consumer or the organization and that provide the level of quality, security and protection and ease of use the Cheddar Up does. The reporting is terrific, and the ability to be protected as an organization is great. It is safer and more secure than the Person-to-Person payment apps, and is easier to track and report. I recommend this product to all the other PTAs in my area, and have actually turned on quite a few of them to using Cheddar Up. Pros This is a fabulous system that is easy to work with in. It has all the bells and whistles needed for even a novice or non-techy person to handle, without being too overwhelming with too many options. Every person I recommend it to is very happy with the program. Their support is terrific. I always receive answers in a timely manner and they go above and beyond to help. I have been using them for a # of years, and they keep enhancing the product with better features continuously. Cons I have very little to complain about. They have done a great job of enhancing their communication/email section. They could use a few more reports, possibly a Custom Report setting. I would like it if the App who should "Items" purchased as it does on the online site. But it really is a great product. Their credit card scanner can use some changes, the process is clumsy and hard to use-- this could be streamlined a bit. The ease of use, and the reporting is unbeatable! We are a non-profit entity needing to keep our records simple; there's no doubt in my mind that everything is correct and I'll have all the information I need to provide financial reports. Pros Easy to setup, can obtain as much detail oriented information as you want - and able to export the info for easy report building, etc. You can choose to pass on the processing fee to the purchaser OR make it optional for the purchaser. The free-version includes a lot of benefits! Cons I don't have any cons so far! Although, the only thing I wish was included in the free-version would be the ability to use promo codes. Pros I liked most that I was able to hold a repeated event the next year and all of my information was there, secure, and I didn't have to enter it all over again. I like the reporting capabilities. I like that I can look back at past events. Most of all I appreciate the user-friendly, ease of use aspect of Cheddar Up. Cons My only "complaint" was terminology - I was using the term "ticket" and needed to use another one to complete my new event -- however, I can't complain because the Support Team told me exactly what I needed to do and it was fixed immediately! November 20, 2022 5.0 As we've come across things that we'd like to see done from within the software we submit our ideas to the company and they are very receptive to ideas and have seen our requests in future updates. Pros We can create numerous collections. We can also organize to be able to refer to from previous years as we have change in board members or committee members yearly. By having something to look back on helps the new people that come along, plus you can refer to what your sales looked like, what was charged, etc. Cons Can't think of anything at this time. There were two other products that we were looking at but they were more expensive and didn't seem as intuitive as CheddarUp. I built the site, emailed our members, and watched the orders roll in. Perfection! Pros I was so impressed with how easy it was to create a great-looking fundraising page for our Plant Sale. Everyone commented on how great our site looked! I was able to easily build a collection, upload images, add descriptions and provide our buyers with a number of options. I liked the built-in email marketing function and tracking on opens and clicks. The payment processing is simple and secure, and I liked that people could buy with no fee by e-transfer or cheque. Pros I LOVE the ease of use, the customizing of each collection and item. We also love that multiples users can participate in different capacities. Cons There is a bit of a learning curve in creating the folders, collections, items, etc. But the webinars are a huge help! Reason for choosing Cheddar Up We were originally looking for an alternative for QuickBooks and came across Money Minder. Pros We were planning a reunion and dreaded collecting money, tracking payments, and keeping up with records. Cheddar made it easy to manage all information and payments in one place. Cons I would like for the event landing page to be more customizable. I originally entered an event name, which I later changed, but when I shared the event link the original event name was populated in the link description. I would have liked the new name to populate. We are glad to be able to use CheddarUp to propel our fundraising efforts forward for our organization. Pros As a nonprofit member, this product has been super helpful in helping us provide the ability to do an online payment system, tracks our expenses and income and helps us to know if we are making our goals. We are very pleased with the overall usability of this application and find it to be extremely helpful in our fundraising efforts. Cons It is expensive. I wish that there were an option for non-profit organizations to get the higher tiers without such a hefty price tag. It is hard for us to find extra to apply, but the features would make it easier for us to make more money.
