It’s flexible without being flimsy, structured without being restrictive. Once dialed in, it streamlines communication, workflow management, and customer relationships in a way that supports growth instead of slowing it down. It’s especially strong for teams that want control, customization, and room to evolve.

Pros

The level of customization sets it apart. Magazine Manager allows you to shape the system around how your team actually works, rather than forcing you into rigid workflows. The built in AI tools are genuinely useful, helping streamline communication and refine brand voice, while the overall platform supports organization, scalability, and long term growth.

Cons

Because it’s so customizable, there is a learning curve. Especially for teams that want to jump in fast without configuring workflows first. Some features aren’t immediately intuitive, but once you understand the system logic, it becomes much more powerful.

My overall experience has been great. The live chat is a lifesaver and the production workflow tracking saves me so much time over how I used to do it.

Pros

Huge number of ways to pull data. Production work flow is easily tracked and quick to update. Requests for changes in the MM system are welcome and seriously considered when they do updates. Excellent customer service and live chat.

Cons

Since there are so many options, there is a moderate learning curve to master everything. We continue to have a glitch with our emails and are not able to link outbound client/prospecting emails to the MM account.

### "A solid product that can do it all, if you can figure out how to use it."

Pros

We were managing our printed magazine with a series of spreadsheets on Google until we jumped to Magazine Manager. Now our team has real-time access to billing, contracts, pagination and flatplanning. It hasn't been easy and continues to present difficulties, but overall I'd say using Magazine Manager has been a benefit for our company.

Cons

Though they've tried facelift after facelift, I feel that the product is just so complex and has so much "technical debt" at this point in time that it needs a complete rewrite from the ground up in order to feel like a modern product. It is complex software designed to manage complex businesses, but it just doesn't meet the user interface and usability we're accustomed to in 2018.

Everyone of the account managers that we have had for training have been great. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The chat is amazing! The person who mainly runs the board is spot on and helpful. Even the after hours chat bot has been really helpful for us. \[sensitive content hidden\] have been fantastic and Matt has done a great job helping us out with our one off questions!

Pros

We recently switched from another publishing software and we have been very impressed with what MM has to offer. In addition, they continue to make updates every week and listen to the suggestions of their clients. They have been more than helpful in getting us acclimated to the software. We also opted to have Marketing Manager which has been helpful to have the email interactions recorded in our CRM. We are still learning, but so far it has been a great experience, and we are looking forward to future updates. It was worth taking the leap and a good value for the investment!

Cons

The conversion over - which was not there fault per se, but anyone converting I suggest they talk to some at MM and request an account manager that has experience with a conversion from the platform you previously were on. We found that person a little ate in the game and I think planning with that person woul dhave made our conversion a little smoother. Improvements can be made ont he Marketing Manager side as it relates to creating segments and workflows - it seems we should be able to click on groups in Magazine Manager and send vs. having to make that a segment first, name it, then send. Too many steps, but the connection to the CRM and the recording of the interaction for the reps make this worth the extra steps. Also, being able to update a billing contact after it has been invoiced would be extremely helpful.

LaundPad was antiquated. Email system from CRM was clunky and hard to deal with. Could not do top level marketing sends effectively. Reporting also was difficult and custom reporting always would time out after running or when slicing the data would fail during a refresh/update.

The quality of Magazine Manager is excellent for sales and publications. The team does their best to respond to issues quickly, and I really appreciate the ongoing support. Pros

Magazine Manager has been a great addition to my workflow. I really like the platform—it’s intuitive, keeps me organized, and makes it easy to stay on top of priorities. The client tracking and goal-setting tools are especially helpful, and I love having the ability to monitor performance and quickly reference customer history in one place. I’m also looking forward to using more of the production applications as I continue working in the system. Overall, it’s a well-built platform that supports day-to-day efficiency and better long-term planning.

Cons

I do wish there were a way to copy and paste proposals even after they’ve passed the close date, with the ability to update and refresh them as needed.

It works great for us. The support in getting it set up and learning it was great. Also really good training each time we hire someone new.

Pros

Magazine manager was made for publications so it is great for managing both the advertising side and the circulation side. It also helps us do more with our data.

Cons

The one thing I don't like is that you can't map email addresses input through the email upload back to contacts in the CRM. Those two areas are not as connected as I'd like.

I think we've been with them for 15 years and they have always been easy and great to work with. We really like them as a company.

Pros

Well organized, great customer support, Good value, fast and reliable. I'm comfortable with the CRM and know our data is safe and it's easy to get help and training when I need it.

Cons

There are too many options on the menus, it's hard to remember where a certain report or option lives.

Outstanding. I have used multiple CRM platforms and have found the experience with The Magazine Manager second-to-none.

Pros

Hands down, the best CRM platform for a magazine publisher. The team at Mirabel Technologies is investing heavily in technology (think AI), and the customer support is second to none. If you are considering a switch and want to improve your team's productivity significantly, I highly recommend taking a close look at The Magazine Manager. It seamlessly integrates everything from CRM to production, to accounting, and they are even working on editorial integrations.

Cons

It's challenging to identify a downside to The Magazine Manager, so I have to dig deeper. Sometimes it is like drinking out of a firehose? That can be a good thing—rapid advancements and constantly improving. Minor improvements would be to simplify the ability to merge active accounts without tech support, and create a template to easily create a sales-to-goals dashboard by product for management (team individually).

Overall - it's been great! MM listens to their customers. MM has taken some of my suggestions/complaints over the years and have made updates. Customer Service is above a 5 star rating - \[sensitive content hidden\] (our 1st consultant), \[sensitive content hidden\] (our consultant now), \[sensitive content hidden\] ! They are amazing and always up for the challenge of my questions and quick to find a solution.

Pros

The automations that have been added. Like the auto convert of proposals and signed copy to client files. Love having a complete system - from orders, production and layout, Marketing emails, comp subscriptions, etc.

Cons

Some of the "accounting" functions. Could be more Accounting friendly. The access to customer portal. We have customers that have issues and are unable to help them unless they give us their password - not sure how that is more secure.

This is a dedicated company. From the account manager, who is diligent getting you training on your product(s), to the technical support staff, Mirabel Technologies is constantly improving automation for invoicing, production and sales. This system helps us stay on top of our work without needing to hire 5 more people.

Pros

Magazine Manager makes it easy for sales and production to work together to produce digital and print content. Improvements happen often and they are open to suggestions and execute on them quicker than other software companies. Plus, their chat support is almost always immediately available, always courteous and knowledgeable. The workflow process in their Marketing Manager has also helped our company create funnels to classify customers easier and have our customer update their own records. So much simpler than having to hire someone to do it for us!

Cons

Being able to send emails on behalf of a someone else without the Magazine Manager unsubscribe footer. While I understand the reason why this is a new feature and complies with emailing standards, it limits our use of having someone else help out our busy salesperson.

Magazine Manager is specifically designed for those of us in the print and digital publishing industry and it is crucial to our sales success. It is extremely easy to learn and apply immediately. With this software, we are able to quickly and easily pull targeted email lists to generate sales, electronically invoice clients in literally minutes, take payments, and with a click of a button know what our clients' ad schedules are, what they have paid and what they owe. It is totally transparent - the reporting for a sales manager - and accounting - is outstanding. I receive as often as I wish emails listing calls by rep, meetings, sales booked, and more. The digital tearsheets are invaluable. Client portals allow customers to upload their own ads and pay electronically any time. It is so easy to create new reports. As a past Salesforce user, this is SO much easier to use and because it is made for ad sales, the company deeply understands the details of exactly what we need from this software. The support team and trainers are outstanding. There is abundant free training with your subscription and online videos available any time. And it is surprisingly affordable! Magazine Manager is a vital tool to managing our operation and achieving our advertising sales success. We switched two years ago. Many times a day, every day, as we work in the software to serve our clients and achieve our goals, we marvel at how easy it is to do what we need and how much we love this software.

Cons

There is coordination with accounting required to set this up, but the accounting team also loves the software. It is important to visualize your publishing organization and the hierarchy of products and business units in order to structure the software best for you, but once you determine that, it is easy to set it up the way you need.

its been a great experience. The training that your team provides with the support/help desk allows our company to do what we do best, SALES. I don't have to put a training module together for new hires, you've done that for me. And I know that if I need anything your a point/click away with help - love that~

Pros

The product is SUPER easy to use. Not every person thinks the same and in Magman there are several ways to do the same task, I like that. When I train new users on how to use the software, I can tell them how I like to do a search for a contact (for example) and give them other options as well. Its fun to see the 'ah-ha' looks on their faces when you've found a way to do a task that fits how their brain functions.

Cons

The only con I can think of right now is that Magman calendar doesn't sync with Microsoft Outlook. I understand that is a 'Microsoft' issue but ultimately to have our email calendars/Microsoft teams sync with the Magman calendar would be Phenomenal!

This software has promise to solve A LOT of bottlenecks in our workflow. We new it would be difficult to switch technologies but the 3 months free help from our Account Consultant has been fantastic!

Pros

By publishers, for publishers. Almost all of the components that anyone needs to run a publishing business.

Cons

We've had some hiccups with new product releases but our account consultant keeps us updated on the progress of the software engineers.

Pipeline CRM raised our price after 10 years at an introductory rate. When we looked around at what other software was offering for a comparable price it was a no brainer to switch. Now we have estimates/proposals, invoicing, ad trafficking, plus the Marketing Manager (email marketing and subscription management) for basically the same price. Almost everything a publishers needs – all in one platform. Only thing missing is Editorial management!

I like it, my production team likes it, most of my sales staff likes it. The support and training are GREAT.

Pros

that it is easy to learn and easy for various members of our staff- sales, marketing, production, management, to interact with it.

Cons

It changes frequently and people have to get up to speed on how to file things. My sales staff says it's hard to generate mass emails from it, so one of them is using another email platform. Not sure I agree with this.

Excellent. From the initial training to all of the follow-ups and the help center, this program, even as robust as it is, has enough training to be fully implemented with ease. The program is a game changer. The amazing people make a difference. Never have I been overwhelmed as I know there will either be a training video or I can reach out to my personal advisor to ask questions.

Having all the tools under one system and its affordability to a small business.

Magazine Manager has given me much more control and understanding of aspects of my business I had delegated out to others before, which is an adaptive advantage. It allows me to use my time effectively and that of my team. Integrating email marketing and e-commerce further added to the efficiencies compared to when we used multiple platforms for these functions. The customer support and training opportunities continue to help me grow as a business owner. I appreciate that these and the continuous improvements to the platform are expensive. In my direct experience, they are worth what I am paying. At the same time for a business as small and lean as mine, I continue to require the best possible value in comparison what other companies offer out there. Lastly, the cordial (fun!,) positive and attentive support from \[sensitive content hidden\] continue to be remarkable, literally helping me create an effective and dynamic platform for my business by empowering me. For that I am grateful and regularly sing your praises to colleagues.

Pros

Integration into my business was so smooth with the excellence of the platform itself, but most notably with the customer support and ongoing training webinars available. I also greatly appreciate how the MM team is always working to improve all aspects of platform; the differences have been notable just in my short time as a customer.

Cons

I would love tasks and calls made in Magazine Manager to show in my Google Calendar. I'd like emails to allow for multiple attachments and screenshots imbedded in the body of the email. I think the Template system could be made easier to access and use; also it can be more clear that there are different kinds of templates (letters, proposals, marketing email designs) because right now they are all called the same thing. It has been great. I enjoy work with \[sensitive content hidden\] and the rest of the help staff.

Pros

As a person, who was put in the position of preparing contracts and maintaining the ad updates for our company with no experience at all in this process, I have found that Magazine Manager has the most knowledgeable and helpful customer support team around. No matter how small of an issue (but world ending to me) I can do the help chat and the person helps me out each and every time. I have been fortunate, that when I do use the help chat I usually get the same person, \[sensitive content hidden\] and he is fantastic. Helps me every time and never thinks I ask too many questions. \[sensitive content hidden\] is our main person and he is fantastic, also. If I have a major issue, I can contact him and schedule a training session with ease.

Cons

This may be in Magazine Manager and I just have not looked - but it would be nice if adding the next years schedules would be a little easier. For example: we run a weekly digital email and have a space for 1 banner ad and 4 block ads, I would like to set it up where for the Daily Emails the limits for those are posted so we do not oversell ads.

### "Magazine Manager is a great tool."

The overall experience has been great. It has allowed us to use one system instead of multiple different systems. It has stream lined our overall workflow.

Pros

Ease of use and always updating new features.

Cons

I wish notifications could be set up for specific designers. Currently all notifications for ad changes go to all designers even if it's not a project that designer is working on. I wish the ad content that is in the order jacket would show up on the flat plan as the ad gets approved. It would help in the layout process if we could see the ad art as we are laying out the magazines. Currently we can only upload the pages after the fact. It would also be helpful if the order number would show up in the Insertion Info pop up on the Job Jacket in the Flat Plan. It would also be helpful if on the the main management page that I can look at the Goal Summary by Business unit and multiple business units. We currently have multiple teams using the system with all different goals and revenue. I would like to break that out on all the widgets on the main page.

Reason for choosing The Magazine Manager

It has the best fit for us.

Overall, it was easy to start using, and I keep attending the training seminars which help me add more of it's features to use. I know I'm just scratching the surface, having only used MM for 5 months.

Pros

It gives one database management center, easy to schedule activities and differentiate type of activities; can rate level of prospects. Like the ability to write notes and am eager to use the new AI feature to summarize the notes from prospects & customers.

Cons

Reports can be complicated to set up. If I schedule an activity that changes, it's hard to adjust it. Have to clear out the inbox even when a task has been marked completed.

I've had nothing but great experience working with The Magazine Manager

Pros

I've used The Magazine Manager for years (including former jobs and roles) and have always appreciated how it integrates between sales, circulation and production. It also has robust reporting. But my favorite aspect is the epic customer support they provide. I can chat with support and get instant feedback or book a Zoom with someone in a very short turnaround. The customer service is excellent.

Cons

I would like to be able to customize the dashboard to include my own saved reports and focus for the day. Sometimes I come to the software with a sales mindset, sometimes accounting, and sometimes production. While there are quick links to most of these units I would like to customize further.
