### "Wish I had switched from Wix years ago"

May 14, 2026

5.0

My experience has been extremely positive. I switched from Wix and immediately noticed improvements in site performance, overall usability, and the ability to grow a business. Shopify feels like a platform designed around serious eCommerce rather than trying to be a general website builder that also happens to sell products. The ecosystem is strong, the checkout process feels polished, and it gives businesses room to scale without feeling limited. The migration took effort, but looking back I wish I had switched sooner.

Pros

Shopify feels purpose-built for eCommerce. After switching from Wix, the difference in overall performance, flexibility, and ecosystem became obvious very quickly. The platform is easier to scale, the app integrations are strong, checkout feels polished, and there are far more tools available for growing a business. Customization options are excellent, and there is a large community and support network around the platform.

Cons

There can be a learning curve when first moving over, especially when dealing with themes, apps, and advanced customization. Costs can also increase as you add apps and additional features. Some functions that feel like they should be built-in sometimes require outside apps.

Switched from

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

We outgrew Wix fast and it was painfully apparent that Wix just isn't meant for companies doing over 6 figure revenue.

### "Easy to set-up but requires additional time and knowledge for professional functionality"

April 19, 2026

4.0

Although I was able to set up a store quite quickly, I spent quite a lot of time trying to make the store function in the way that I needed. However, there are fewer issues and more functionality with 2.0 themes. I have yet to switch to the latest block-based themes and hope to maintain a stable 2.0 for a bit longer.

Pros

I was able to quickly create a professional e-commerce store with a free template, and there are many options for customization. Shopify continues to add functionality.

Cons

Shopify relies heavily on paid apps for functionality. Stacking subscriptions for what could be considered basic functionality can be expensive. Also, this requires additional time to research; the apps can slow down the site and conflict with each other.

I liked the simplicity and ease of Big Cartel, but I needed much more functionality.

### "Strong platform"

May 4, 2026

3.0

Overall, Shopify is a capable platform with strong features, but my experience was impacted by billing confusion and a less-than-ideal support experience. While it works well from a functionality standpoint, I would be more confident recommending it if there were improvements in billing clarity and customer support responsiveness.

Pros

Shopify is easy to set up and use, even without a technical background. The interface is clean, and the platform offers a wide range of integrations and tools that make it simple to get a store up and running quickly.

Cons

Greater transparency around billing and clearer communication would go a long way. Felt a little bit confusing initially.

### "he Most Reliable and User-Friendly E-commerce Platform on the Market"

April 7, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been very positive. Shopify is a "one-stop-shop" that takes the technical headache out of running an online store. It handles payment options and security seamlessly, allowing me to focus more on marketing and products rather than server maintenance. It’s a reliable, scalable solution that grows with your business, despite the slightly higher price point for premium features.

Pros

The ease of use is definitely the standout feature. Website creation is intuitive thanks to the drag-and-drop editor, making it accessible even if you don't have a coding background. I also really appreciate the 24/7 chat and call support; they are usually very quick to resolve technical hiccups. The platform is incredibly stable, and the vast app ecosystem allows you to add almost any functionality you need as you scale.

Cons

While the platform is powerful, the value for money can get a bit complicated. Monthly costs can add up quickly once you start adding paid apps and premium themes. I also find the payment structure a bit restrictive; if you don't use Shopify Payments, you’re hit with additional transaction fees, which can eat into the margins of a small business.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing Shopify

I chose Shopify over Wix primarily for its scalability and its massive App Store. As my business grows, I want to be able to add advanced features like loyalty programs, complex SEO tools, and specialized marketing integrations that Shopify handles seamlessly. The ability to handle high traffic spikes during sales and the sheer variety of professional themes made it the better long-term choice for my brand

### "A game-changing platform for E-commerce business owners"

April 16, 2026

5.0

My journey to an e-commerce world started with Shopify, and I can't thank this platform enough. 6 years ago when I was looking to start a dropshipping business, that's when I came across Shopify. I used this product to design and publish my first dropshipping website in no time. Honestly, I had very little knowledge about websites that time, however I was still able to design a decent looking professional website and launch my dropshipping business. Isn't that fun?

Pros

What I love most about Shopify is how easy to use and beginners friendly the platform is. You could pretty much launch your e-commerce website solely with Shopify without having to worry about any other platforms from getting a domain name and hosting space, to securing the website with SSL, everything in one place. Moreover, the cost for hosting your site is very minimal if you compare it with other competitors.

Cons

So far till day, I have no complaints about Shopify. It did fulfil all my needs and requirements with ease during my first E-commerce website launch back in 2019.

### "Pretty easy to use"

May 27, 2026

5.0

Shopify has overall been a good fit for me. I'm still learning how to use it, but the payments and banking information have been easy to navigate.

Pros

I like Shopify because even the more affordable option (the basic level) offers a variety of options, and you're able to customize it to what you need. I also like that you can add in various apps (like a calendar app) to show events. I think it's pretty easy to use.

Cons

I wish that the free options for templates were a bit more robust. There are not many options to choose from.

Switched from

[EtsyMarketingTool](https://www.capterra.com/p/156476/BestAutoRenew/)

I switched from Pattern (by Etsy) because I needed something that had more features. Pattern was nice because it integrated directly with my Etsy website, but it didn't have a lot to offer. (also note that Etsy Pattern is not listed as an option here)

### "Strong eCommerce platform with reliable NetSuite integration"

April 24, 2026

5.0

Overall, our experience has been positive. Shopify handles the front-end eCommerce side really well, and with the NetSuite integration through Celigo, we’ve been able to streamline backend operations like order syncing and inventory updates. There were some initial challenges during setup and mapping, but once stabilized, it’s been quite reliable. It’s a good option if you want something scalable without building everything from scratch.

Pros

Shopify is very easy to use and quick to set up compared to other eCommerce platforms. The UI is clean, and managing products, orders, and payments is pretty straightforward. What worked really well for us is how smoothly it integrates with other systems — we’re using it with NetSuite via Celigo, and that has helped automate a lot of our order and customer data flow. It saves a lot of manual work once everything is set up properly. Also, the app ecosystem is quite strong if you need extra features.

Cons

Costs can increase quite a bit over time, especially with paid apps and transaction fees. While the basics are easy, more advanced customization isn’t very straightforward and often needs developer support. From an integration perspective, maintaining workflows via Celigo sometimes needs monitoring, especially when there are sync errors or data mismatches.

### "Easy to use store builder with a few pricey add‑ons"

April 15, 2026

4.0

Overall my experience with Shopify has been really good. I used it for a small online store and it made the whole process simple, from adding products to handling payments. It’s beginner‑friendly but still powerful enough when you want to grow. There are small annoyances like app costs and limited free customization, but nothing that stopped me from running the store. For anyone who wants to start selling online without dealing with complicated setups, Shopify works well and feels reliable.

Pros

What I like most about Shopify is how easy it is to set up a store even if you’re not super technical. I tried it for a small side project and honestly the whole setup took less time than I expected. The themes look clean and professional, and editing them is simple. Payments are smooth too, customers don’t get stuck or confused. I also like the app store because I can add features without doing coding. The dashboard is clear and I can track orders, traffic and sales without digging around.

Cons

Some apps get expensive fast, and a few features that should be basic are locked behind paid apps. Customizing themes beyond the simple stuff can get tricky unless you know Liquid or CSS. The reporting is okay but not great unless you pay for higher plans. Also sometimes the store feels a bit slow when too many apps are installed. Customer support is helpful but wait times can be long during busy hours. Not huge issues but they add up when you’re trying to run things smoothly.

### "Shopify is probably the best ecommerce platform "

April 27, 2026

5.0

I like Shopify! It made operating easy. It took away all worries from me about how to operate a website.

Pros

It’s easy to use, the platform has everything you need for an E-commerce website and it’s easy enough for people who are not tech savvy to learn and use

Cons

Sometimes it’s hard to find a feather that you are looking for and the AI support is not always helpful, and it takes some time to get a real person support

### "A must have!!!"

May 12, 2026

5.0

It is simply a great product and I would suggest it as a "need to have" business tool to any ecommerce outfit, whatever the size. The support provided by Shopify as well is a "breath of fresh air" as they really work with you to grow your business and optimise your offering.

Pros

The ease of use and integration with existing systems if highly beneficial. The ease with which you are able to track and process online orders is also exceptional. Training staff to use the system is incredibly easy and full proof. The value of the system is beyond all expectations and has become a vital asset for ongoing workflows. It is seamless in the processing of various payment types and is easy to use if refunds are necessary. It is a must have!!

Cons

I have not experienced any down side to using Shopify. It is easy to use, versatile and focussed to provide the best possible customer experience possible. It was not necessary to utilise the website creation options but Shopify understands the retail space so vividly that the roll out was slick and effortless.

### "Shopify is my choice"

December 3, 2025

5.0

Overall, Shopify is very popular and it has great features. The more you use it the easier it is to navigate and that’s a big deal for my customers as well. So far so good.

Pros

For the most part Shopify is easy to use. It initially just takes some getting use to. I like the benefit of it offering 3 months at $1.00 for a small business that helps out a lot. I also like how everything is included you don’t have to use a third party if you don’t choose. Which makes it more convenient.

Cons

I’ve used Shopify previously and I liked how it allowed me to be on a plan at 5.00 a month without having to build a big website. When I tried to reopen it, it wouldn’t provide that plan again and that was very easy and more convenient for me as far as cost.

### "I like Shopify "

July 20, 2025

5.0

I’m glad I’m on the Shopify platform. It has helped me to be able to do things on my own and not need as much help from designers.

Pros

Easy to use and never have ever had a problem. With other platforms before I did have problems. Never once with Shopify. Also it seems relatively easy to figure out when I have questions

Cons

I wish the fees could be less per year. Would be nice to keep cost down ..but that’s my only possible concern.

Pros

Shopify have irresistible offer for new users for first three months where they provide one dollar per month charges .so it's number one option for startups to choose Shopify .the user interface is simple and beginner friendly.

Cons

The Shopify payment is not available in countries like India which makes it difficult to receive payments although there are other third party payment providers like paypal ,razorpay and others which integrate very well .but I hope that Shopify payment will be made available in india as well .

### "Reliable, Scalable, and User-Friendly E-Commerce Platform"

February 22, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Shopify has been very positive. The platform is reliable, easy to navigate, and well-suited for launching and scaling an online store. It offers strong design options and secure payment processing.

Pros

How intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. It allows you to launch and manage an online store quickly without needing advanced technical skills.

Cons

One of the downsides of Shopify is that costs can increase quickly as you add apps, premium themes, or advanced features. While the base platform is strong, many essential customizations require paid integrations

### "no wonder most ecommerce runs on shopify"

September 20, 2025

5.0

i've been impressed by how capable shopify has been for someone with little to no web development or programming skills. like any SAAS worth it's value, some features you want are hidden behind paywalls, but it is flexible enough that there is almost always a way around it if you are creative, or it is inexpensive via 3rd party apps

Pros

shopify has been very easy for me to stand up a web store on short notice. i have a modicum of coding experience, but documentation is widely available and has allowed me to unlock a TON of value from the package we signed up for

Cons

there are some shortfalls of the API when it comes to managing inventory- the API only updates when available qty changes, not when reserved or committed qty changes. it is also difficult to split and combine orders

### "Easy to set up and convenient for tracking orders."

March 16, 2026

4.0

Overall, it works well. It offers extensive integration capabilities across various areas, and the integration with BC, in particular, makes ERP management much more convenient for us.

Pros

The product sales and integrated inventory management system is extremely powerful, offering comprehensive support for product management, inventory management, warehouse management, discount systems, user management, and more.

Cons

We rely heavily on this platform for promoting and selling our products. As a result, it makes managing our inventory and controlling discounts and promotions very convenient. However, the subscription fees and commission rates are somewhat high, which significantly increases the cost of goods; merchants must pay both the subscription fee and a commission on product sales.

### "Shopify Has Been Amazing"

February 19, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Shopify has been positive. As someone who has little to no code experience, I was able to set up my shop all by myself and configure all the integrations. I've used several other e-commerce platforms and cannot say the same about their ease of use.

Pros

Shopify is one of the easiest shop platforms I've used. Setup was very simple and they offer integrations with all of my marketing stack.

Cons

Shopify fees are probably one of my only complaints, although you pay for what you get. The only other "con" I would say is that it seems they are moving away from real-life agents and starting to use AI chatbots for inquiries, which can be frustrating at times.
