### "Easy, efficient, helpful,"

June 3, 2018

4.0

Ease of ability to find out information I need.

Pros

I love that it can do -everything-. It is where all folks manage their online giving, it is where we print new directories from, we can send our weekly newsletters from it, registration for summer programs, scheduling of acolytes etc., and so much more. It is "one stop shopping" for all things congregational management.

Cons

It seems to have been developed by people who don't have a lot of LGBTQ+ folks in their faith community, and we do. So there's a number of things we've run into with that, some of which have been able to be fixed by customer support, and others not, so that is a frustration.

### "Great Product, Great Partners"

September 16, 2025

5.0

Pros

TouchPoint is not just a company or a product, they really partner with churches and walk along side us in using data to empower ministry! It is highly customizable, and can be leveraged to meet each churches individual goals and needs.

Cons

As a relatively newer church management software company compared to older well known softwares, some of the features are still being worked on and fleshed out. Particularly when it comes to volunteer scheduling and similar.

### "Very good and getting better all the time!"

February 16, 2017

3.0

What I love: web-based, can access anywhere. The smartphone app is WONDERFUL!!! Membership and contact / follow up system are great. Contributions is great! What frustrates me: No full-blown financial management module (General ledger, check printing, accounts payable, etc. which forces us to use very outdated Shelby financials. Reports are not very customizable and sometimes waste space on the page if printed.

Pros

Smartphone app (love this!) Membership (photos, info that individuals can update themselves, family relationship notes, pastoral notes) Contributions, web-based (can access anywhere) Attendance tracking / ability to enter attendance over smartphone app.

Cons

Lacks full financial suite (gen ledger, accts payable, payroll, etc) Reports could be more customizable and outreach forms too. Difficulty of integrating with Microsoft Word for producing form letters. A few other things I can't recall right now.

### "TouchPoint - Pointing to Christ"

February 25, 2025

5.0

When our church began looking for a new church management platform, TouchPoint was the only platform where every conversation began with the goal of how can we work together to bring Christ to your community, congregation, and staff. The service and attention to detail from start to present has been wonderful. There is always a person available to help from the TouchPoint staff or within the user community -- and the goal is to bring people to Christ using data to understand and see opportunities for ministry. It is a team environment that breaks the silo of doing local church ministry alone.

Pros

The ability to customize searches to find accurate opportunities for ministry.

Cons

Whew! What a learning curve! It takes 2 years to feel like you know what you are doing -- this is also a pro because it shows the expansive nature that the system provides.

### "Review of TouchPoint CMS"

March 31, 2025

4.0

TouchPoint software has helped our church tremendously by simplifying a lot of our processes and allowing us to do more than our previous databases. From online giving, statistics, communications, online registrations, and pastoral care, we have seen a great improvement in streamlining what we do digitally in order for our staff to have more time to support our church members in person.

Pros

The team at TouchPoint is a big part of what makes this software so valuable. They are focused on helping churches further the Kingdom by making administrative work simple, streamlining aspects of pastoral care, and providing top notch customer support.

Cons

TouchPoint is constantly developing their program to work better for their church partners by improving current features and releasing new features. This means there are occasional bugs to work out in the software. (The support team is always swift at resolving these issues.)

### "TouchPoint solved all our problems around knowing our people"

February 21, 2025

5.0

We've been with TouchPoint for about five years, and it has revolutionized how we care for our people. The "people falling through the cracks" are no longer hypothetical, but are a knowable list of individuals. We're able to bring people into the church body much more smoothly and intentionally than we ever could have before. Also, while we knew we wanted something that was super-customizable, we couldn't invest the time or money for a system that required major customizations just to get the basic functionality working. TouchPoint is positioned perfectly for us: it's certainly "enterprise" software, capable of handling ginormous churches, but it also worked out of the box for us, and we're relatively small. In these years, I feel like I've gotten to know many of the TouchPoint staff folks, and they are truly partners in our ministry. We're grateful for them.

Pros

TouchPoint's robust features include member data management, online giving, event registration, volunteer coordination, attendance tracking, and much more. Any ChMS if, hopefully, the central place for all things "people," and this is actually true with TouchPoint. The software does great out-of-the-box, but can be customized to do all sorts of other things. Also, the customer support is outstanding, and new development clearly reflects actual church needs. There's also a well-established user community where TouchPoint users at different churches can compare methods and learn from each other. The cost is quite reasonable, too.

Cons

I think this is true of any system that needs to appease many churches: different churches need slightly different things. I think TouchPoint navigates those differences pretty well overall, but not always perfectly.

Reason for choosing TouchPoint

TouchPoint had the right balance between flexibility and out-of-the-box capability. It has an open API, which has allowed us to customize it extensively.

Our pervious provider did not innovate on their current offering, but instead wanted us to migrate to a completely different offering. If we needed to do a full migration anyway, we weren't going to settle for a platform with inferior features, just because it was from the same provider. TouchPoint has continued to innovate on their existing platform.

### "Exciting change to a great platform."

It has been great. People are easy to work with and we love the product. We love the way we can build out groups and organize people.

Pros

I like how it is focused on delivery the best option for church database and contact list. We know it does so much more than we are taking advantage of now but love the tool.

Cons

There are some features that would nice to have included like room and facility management. Other than that its great.

We have used TouchPoint for ten years and are constantly learning. Excited for the future - especially rolling out Mobile 3.0 to our congregation!

Pros

I love that TouchPoint has functionality that allows us to use data to know and love our people well

Cons

Mostly touchpoint has been good to me. I do not like that you put touchpoint updates are not complete.

Pros

Tags are my favorite. I have got everybody on board. The search function is really helpful as long as you know what you’re looking for.

Cons

### "Worth a look! Easy to use but customizable. "

May 19, 2025

5.0

Overall, I have had a great experience with TP. I am very active in the community, getting ideas from other churches and sharing how we can best use the system and the data to serve our congregations and communities.

Pros

I like that it can be used as is for most churches, but if you have a bit of SQL and Python skills, you can expand it quite a bit for custom needs. Also, the support is excellent. They don't provide phone support, but their email support is often quick to respond. When it really counts, it is very possible to get the CEO and other leadership on the phone to fix something. That's something you can't find with bigger companies.

Cons

I think some new features are not thoroughly tested as they should be. This issue has been addressed recently and has improved significantly.

### "TouchPoint is an Organization Tool for the Church, By the Church"

February 16, 2017

5.0

A couple years ago, our local church was looking for a cost efficient people management software that was easy for volunteers to use, could be accessed anywhere, had a built-in check-in feature, and made managing people and giving simple, but detailed if necessary. TouchPoint filled all of those features well, and their pricing (based off individuals) made it realistic for us financially to use. Ease of Use After having a realistic price and the features we needed, it was essential that this software was easy to use for volunteers and the pastoral and secretary staff (some who are not high tech savvy). When we purchased the software, the TouchPoint staff (known as BVCMS back in the day) reached out to us immediately to setup training, and showed our staff how to use the software. It only took about an hour to learn the features and start using it well. Even after that, if a question ever came up, all we had to do was email them, and they got back to us within the day. On the front end, the program is great in how it organizes information. It also has several options for exporting that information as well, which was essential for us in creating directories, email lists, etc. It even comes with a mobile app for check-in and simple search to easily find people's contact information. After learning the front end, there are more options and tools for you to use including an email newsletter designer, ministry organization, options for pastors to keep updates on their visits and meetings with people, targeted communication exports, and mass updates, etc. One feature I would gladly welcome is a simpler person updater using the Search Builder. In TouchPoint, they have a very detailed and powerful search feature. I use this regularly to update information, find specific people in the system, and keep track of new attenders. However, after getting your results, as far as I'm aware, there is no feature to edit person details on the Search page. To make changes, you either need to go to each person individually, or use the Tag feature. The Tag feature is great that it allows you to select all or specific people for later mass updating (which is currently what I do), but it'd be nice to have an option to update information right on the same page. All in all, TouchPoint's features, ease of use, and excellent customer service has allowed this database software to be our one stop location for managing all aspects of our ministry involving people.

Pros

Ease of use, detailed people management, easy and customizable exports, children's ministry check-in, mobile access, powerful search feature.

Cons

Only real con is after using the Search Builder, in order to make changes to individual profiles or select groups, it requires using the Tag feature which includes multiple steps. Would welcome as quicker editing feature.

Pros

This software made actually doing ministry awesome! When a church member told me about a move after a service, I was able to update their contact information directly from my phone rather than making a note and doing it at my computer! It helped our entire team stay on track too!

Cons

### "Perfect for Smaller Churches"

February 22, 2017

5.0

As a small rural church, TouchPoint has helped us better track our guests and make follow-up connections and the mobile app makes taking attendance in our Connection Groups super easy. And the customer support is fast and very helpful.

Pros

I love that we can enter in as many prospect contacts as we need to without being charged per record. This is huge for us as a small rural church of under 100. Another benefit is that our Connection Group teachers can take attendance right on the mobile app. Since we have no church secretary, this is a great help in getting our records in and keeping them up to date.

Cons

I do wish that texting was integrated into the system rather than having to use a 3rd party service. I also would love to see some kind of implementation with Facebook posting, particularly when advertising special events. The scheduling calendar--while a great help with scheduling our nursery workers--needs an update.

### "TouchPoint is a wonderful Member Management Software"

February 20, 2017

5.0

I have used several other Member Management Softwares/Systems over the years and TouchPoint is the most user-friendly one I have experienced. The Annual Cost is surprisingly low compared to the tremendous features they offer. Before switching to BVCMS, which become TouchPoint, I was on the lookout for a system that would be more affordable for our Satellite Campus, yet offered the same features I was used to from the expensive Software/System. I was surprised at their cost then even more pleasantly surprised at the features they offered. I have recommended TouchPoint to many other Ministry Assistants as a system that is "worth the time to switch over to" due to the ease of use for them AND THEIR VOLUNTEERS. It is one of the very best I have experienced.

Pros

Features - some of the Best I have experienced

Cons

They do not have an Account Financial System integrated into Touchpoint. I use Quick Books for my accounting so I have to input my financials (Tithes, Mission Trips, etc). from Touchpoint to Quick Books.

### "Great church management system"

February 23, 2017

5.0

Have been a TouchPoint customer for 3 years. We use the system to maintain contact information on all of our families and guests; maintain contribution data for end-of-year tax statements; online giving; mass email and text messaging capabilities; and online registratation. We have also extended usage of the tool beyond our church office staff to deacons and other ministry leaders. The TouchPoint team helped us to migrate our data from our legacy church management solution (ServantKeeper) and has been very responsive whenever we have had a question, problem or a suggestion on how to improve the product. Would recommend that any church looking for a cloud-based church management system series consider use of TouchPoint

Pros

Cloud-based. Covers our major needs as our church management system. Reasonable pricing. Have never had an outage where the system was unavailable.

Cons

Would like greater level of control when delegating access rights to ministry leaders.

### "Excellent Church Management Software"

February 16, 2017

5.0

TouchPoint has made managing our church's database so much simpler than what we were doing before. I no longer have to keep separate spreadsheets for data. I can run numerous reports all in this one program. It is easy to make changes to data that carry all through the program. The on-line registration has helped to cut down on the paperwork. Creating mass emails, sending out e-newsletters, etc. is an advantage we didn't have with our old software. And the calendar helps remind volunteer workers when they are scheduled to work. The more I work with this program, the more I find I can do with it. On the rare occasions when I have a questions, customer service responds quickly.

Pros

It is flexible. I'm able to do so much more with this software than our previous software. The company is always looking to improve and add features that keep it from from being outdated.

Cons

There isn't anything that I don't like about this software.

### "good church management tools"

February 16, 2017

4.0

I've used Touchpoint for a total of 5 years, 2 at a previous church and now 3 at the current church. I have been consistently happy with the functionality of the features and we continue to learn and integrate more of the features to help us stay organized and on top of ministry growth.

Pros

Some of our church's favorite things about the software include the integrated children's check-in system as well as the ability for our home group leaders to keep member records easily. Our leaders love the app which allows for easy access to member and guest contact information and addresses. This allows for simplified communication in follow-up, outreach, and in-reach. We find the software allows us to easily create new groups and to easily move people from and to various groups as needed.

Cons

My one general complaint is that the software is that when you do a people search you need to use last name (or at least partial of the last name). However, the app actually searches by first and last name, including partial name as well as by phone number or email or address. I think the app functionality in this regard is better than the software.

### "When I have emailed support I have gotten good response. "

March 24, 2018

4.0

It is the software the pastor chose. It offers a lot of good benefits but we have not received much training and the learning curve is big to get the most out of the software. I use it around 1-2 hours a day, which could be cut if I knew how to use it more effectively. That includes utube videos and wherever I can find someone to help.

Pros

Works good and offers practical use for ministry. Once you get the hang of certain functions of the software it offers many practical options for ministry, such as email your ministry area or Sunday school class.

Cons

Not easily grasp. No phone support, which I really liked from ACS software. I have gotten good email support but it has sometimes been difficult to make it work from what has been suggested. That is the reason for phone support, plus they help you get it right then at that moment without wasting so much extra time trying to figure out how to use the software. This is my biggest con-no telephone support. Spend way too much time trying to figure out how to use the software. This has been a hard learning curve.

### "Touchpoint has been a helpful administrative tool for our diocese, which encompasses many churches."

March 21, 2018

4.0

It has provided a way for us to have a central, up-to-date, information database, which was lacking in our organization before.

Pros

The search functions and ability to create multiple criteria for searches; The ease of exporting information from different lists; The extra value functions, as we use that for a lot of our information

Cons

1) I wish there was better integration of the personal info and extra values- It would be nice if you didn't have to click on a separate tab (Profile--Extra Values) to look at someone's extra values. The same goes for search exports- I wish there was an export option that included standard info as well as extra values (maybe there is, and I haven't figured it out yet). 2) While this tool is easy for me to navigate and utilize as an administrator, it doesn't feel as user friendly for other invited users who haven't been trained on it. In other words, some of the features are not very intuitive, but require a good bit of training to understand (especially building a search). 3) Finally, I would like if there were more customization options for our organization. Since we are a Diocese rather than a single church, many of the features don't apply to us, and can make the interface confusing for users. It would also be great if we could have certain saved searches show up on every person's home page.

### "Good database - best for those who desire open source"

February 16, 2017

4.0

We've used TouchPoint at our church for several years. The system has worked well, but the interface isn't very user-friendly. Some of the features require a more in-depth knowledge of software. Emails would be better if they could be "drag & drop" rather than HTML. Individual profiles are difficult to navigate to the information you want to retrieve. Check-in works great for Sunday mornings with children's ministry.

Pros

Ability to do online giving. Ability to do online registrations for events. Children's check-in process.

Cons

User interface. Searches are complicated to run. HTML coding knowledge needed for customized emails. Difficulty in navigating personal profiles.

### "A Very Good Review"

February 16, 2017

5.0

I love the fact that TP is accessible from everywhere. I love that I can so easily look up pictures and personal information on all our members--from work, home and anywhere I go with my cell phone. It's easy to click from tab to tab. Overall, TP is a wonderful program. I only wish it were easier to tailor data and reports. Maybe one day.

Pros

Ease of use and easy accessibility.

Cons

The difficulty of creating my own reports so I can see the data in the ways I wish to see it. Sunday School reporting has its drawbacks as well. But, I realize that I'm still doing it the old-fashioned way--manually.

### "Great graphics hide poor functionality"

February 16, 2017

3.0

It does the basics poorly, but charges you like it does them well. We got in when in was in the early stages and it was a bargain which is what a small congregation needed. Time has increased the price and bettered the graphics but they have never added any real functionality. We still cant communicate effectively within an organization and the calendar functionality is terrible. You have to almost be a programmer to send an email. The only reason we have stayed is the beast of transitioning data to another service is overwhelming as a small congregation.

Pros

not a lot

Cons

email, calendar, communication, events
