It has been a strange saga dealing with this company. I was cold called from one of their salespeople, who asked me if I wanted to improve my website, make so much more money, etc. I told him that I had done some recent basic upgrades with my techie and my hosting provider but that I would be very interested in SEO work. He said he could sell me a great SEO package. Then this is what happened. 1. There was an immediate bait and switch. I wanted SEO and what I got was a technical health package. This was confirmed by the CTO on or about 09/25/2024. 2. I did not agree with the terms of the contract that the salesman presented. I said it was too vague. The salesman said to ignore the jargon, that he "knew" what I wanted and he "promised" I would get what I wanted. 3. That did not happen. There were a number of back and forth emails and concerned telephone calls. 4. Again I was assured that all was well. 5. I mentioned offhand that I was going to go to another full service ad revenue company, because I was getting tired of handling my own adstack and wanted to devote my time to other aspects of my business. 6. The salesman represented that Twelverays was a full service ad revenue company -- much to my surprise. (It is not. That's a total falsehood.) 7. Again, another contract and more qualms on my part about the contract. 8. Then the salesman vanished. The work on the first contract had not been finished and the work on the second contract had not even been begun. 9. I got an email from the salesman, totally out of the blue, terminating the vendor/client relationship due to the fact that I was insufficiently appreciative of some worker there. I began writing furious letters to Twelverays to get my money back. I left phone messages which were never responded to. 10. Finally, somebody responded, but only when negative reviews were posted. My ad revenue contract money was immediately refunded. It was too much of a hot potato, I guess. I am still stunned that the salesman told that level of a whopper, that they were a full ad revenue agency, and had my techie open up ad accounts. 11. But they still do not want to refund my SEO contract money, even though I have it in writing from the CTO that the salesman "gaslighted us both." I agreed with him. 12. The CTO told me what package I should have been sold. I agreed with that, too. 13. I don't know why Twelverays either won't refund my money when they admit I was sold the wrong package. 14. Finally, and this is ugly, Twelverays insists that their jurisdiction clause, saying legal actions have to be in British Columbia, applies, even though there's evidence of fraud here, or at the very least a refusal to make things right after freely admitting that things went wrong and I was sold the wrong services. I find that attitude to be similar to what a lot of companies in China and India have. They are vendors who sell goods (clothing, decorations) that don't resemble the picture on the internet at all and are very shoddy, and when you go to return the product, they make you pay the shipping, which frequently can be as much or more than the product costs. So they're using the physical distance to abuse the customer and make life difficult for the customer. 15. I may fly up to Vancouver to challenge these peoples' dishonesty. It's not right to do business this way. Somebody has to stand up to these people.October 21, 2024
