One of our company's major plan this year is to leverage paid ads to grow our sales on Shopify. We sold $5m last year through other online channels, so it's market proven products. But we don't have much history on Shopify sales, facebook ads or google ads. We carefully researched, screened and interewed 7 or 8 agencies, all of which are highly reputable, top agencies, and finally landed on Disruptive Advertising to manage our google ads and facebook ads. I came from a research background so I've always been pretty confident in my research and results. At the time of signing, it was a big relief to me and I thought I found a good partner that will - not to say take me to the moon, but at least grow the ad sales gradually. Instead of to the moon, it went straight the other way. And at the end of the first 30 days, and on the exact date of my 39th birthday, I had to terminate the engagment and their reactions shows no remorse for their poor performance. Here's the rundown of everything: After signing, there're only weekly sync up meetings. The first week is onboarding meeting, and meeting with the team. Week 2 is strategy meeting that's filled mostly with high level template slides, and Week 3 is streagy review with only 2 slides for the facebook ads (1 slide for really simple creative demos, and the other slide for campaign structure as their strategy). Their facebook ad strategy is so amatuer that they are proposing the same set of creatives for each funnel. After week 3, the facebook ad manager had some family urgent matter then just disappeared in communications. Personally, family comes first to me as well, and you have my understanding, my best wishes, my whatever. But professionally, isn't it the reason why I want to work with a big agency that your agency can absorb this kind of individual incidence, and not letting it affect your clients? At the end of the engagement, facebook ad strategy was never revised, hence never aproved. None of the facebook ads were run. And they rejected my request of refund. On the google ad side, that's where their 150-people-agency's business originally built on. My google ad manager said she had 9 years experience managing google ads. They should be good. So after waited for 3 weeks, although I still had concerns about their google ads settings, I was ready to give it a try - after all i naively thought we gonna start running ads and making big money from day 1, and by then it was already 3 weeks gone with nothing. We ran ads in week 4, and over the course of 8 days, it was $2k ad spend, with zero sales. To give you a benchmark, before signing with them, I experimented with google ads myself for three weeks, and I got $2.6k ad sales with $2.4k ad spend. They get ZERO. Then I got confused, is it the lack of expertise, or the lack of commitment? (there's nothing wrong with the website settings, they tested conversion trackings, and I had couple of organic sales during the same period). It's a quite remarkable result isn't it. I don't think any other agency that I interviewed before would be remotely close to achieve the same result with a $2k google ad spend. Disruptive Advertising is truly one of a kind, and I'm even prouder of my research skills now. The rest aren't much interesting anyways. I expressed my frustration and their senior team responded quickly and nicely, and offered to no longer have me bond to the 6 months contract, but rejected my refund request. They charged me $3,500 for the first month of facebook ad management, where they spent the first three weeks to develop the amatuer plan, and disappeared in the forth week. And charged me the same $3,500 for the first month of google ads management, which burned another $2k ad spend with zero, again ZERO ad sales. For those deliverables and performance, they gave me ZERO refund. I hope these experience and the price I paid would be educational to whoever's looking for the paid ads agency now.April 14, 2023

Pros:

  • Very easy to work with them AND understand the work they do for us (even if its not our field).
  • They always break down meeting agendas prior to the meeting and send meeting recaps post-meeting. They deliver items when they say they will, and they are always quick to respond to a question we have or an email we send - no matter the time. They ask great, thought-provoking questions during our strategy calls and bring a fresh perspective to our industry that helps us get creative and think outside the box.
  • Professionalism- even when results are down Communication- even in hard times
  • Help us scale to a whole new level while achieving incredible results.

Cons:

  • None, I wish I had some but I truly don't have any.
  • N/A - honestly, we haven't run into any cons yet working with them (and it's been almost a full year)
  • Language- do not always understand full scope of language when dealing with digital marketing
  • Lack of relative B2B and tech experience by those on our account.

Pros:
I couldn’t say enough good things about Disruptive. The way that they have helped us to scale — efficiently — is nothing less than incredible. I’m so grateful to have a company like Disruptive helping me with the strategy and execution on our paid social campaigns. The success we are seeing directly relates back to the great partnership and collaboration with Disruptive. If you are doing any kind of paid social advertising, stop wasting money and cycles and call Disruptive ASAP. They really get it However, they don’t just talk the talk. They walk the walk. I originally had Disruptive come and run a paid social training with some of the team at Adobe. I was overly impressed with the knowledge they brought and I decided to bring them on to trial them as my agency of record on paid social. That was undoubtedly one of the best business decisions I made all year. If you want results, stop reading this and call Disruptive ASAP.
Cons:
Just like any new relationship/agreement, there have been some minor issues — which is very normal when you look at the scale at which we are buying ads. I would consider them the cost of starting new relationships. The minor issues pale in comparison to the success we have seen.

Overall Experience: I’m absolutely thrilled. We are running a significant number of paid social campaigns, with pretty large spends. The flexibility and response from Disruptive is so appreciated. If there are ever any missteps, we have handled them head on and moved on to more success. Our team is uber responsive. There is never a question of, “what are they doing for us.” They communicate, perform and report back very effectively. I’ve worked with multiple agencies, but I have never received this kind of paid social support aside from this relationship with Disruptive. If you can’t tell,I’m really happy with the relationship and results.

Pros:
We have loved how easy Disruptive has been to work with. They handle everything and free us up to focus on other aspects of our business. They are experts in digital advertising and it shows with the return we've gotten on our ad spend. Always available they will pick up communications immediately whenever we reach out or want a meeting. When a task needs to be done they are the ones hounding us to get things going and not the other way around, WE LOVE IT!
Cons:
We don't have much negative to say about Disruptive but they are very good at sales. No different from all of their competitors I'm sure, they will try up-selling you additional services whenever they can. We had one less than ideal return on a service we were up-sold on, but when we met with them and told them they weren't meeting our expectations, they immediately removed the service from our billing cycle and tried fervently to make amends. They didn't try to fight us on it, they simply made the adjustments that we asked for. For anyone in sales, you know this type of customer service is almost non-existent. Their flexibly in that experience won them even more of our business.

Overall Experience: Disruptive Advertise has been instrumental in helping our small business expand. They take care of all the details in digital advertising which has free up our human capital to work on other pressing issues in our business. In addition to being very professional and effective, they are also great people and a true pleasure to work with. Always on top of the ball, they get tasks done immediately when called upon. 10/10 would recommend them to other small business owners.

Overall Experience: We highly recommend Disruptive for PPC, SEO, and digital marketing services. They take the time to learn about your products and your industry and fully immerse themselves so they can get a full understanding of how best to market it. They ask the right questions, and a lot of them, which is refreshing and unlike many other PPC/SEO/digital marketing companies. They are extremely responsive and timely, punctual and organized, and best of all, results-driven!

Overall Experience: I hired Disruptive Advertising to help manage our company's digital advertising campaigns. They manage all of our social media advertising (Instagram and Facebook) and our Google AdWords campaigns (search, display, video, and shopping). I've hired many agencies in the past but Disruptive Advertising is leaps and bounds above anyone else. We saw almost instant results and they have helped us to continue to grow our D2C online business month-over-month. They delivered on their promises to us. The group at Disruptive really puts the client first and is literally available 24/7. They walk you through their strategy and then put a lot of extra time and effort into getting positive results. They stay within the budget and produce good ROAS. Even during the rough times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disruptive is producing results.

Overall Experience: We used to work with *another* PPC agency. During the sales process of working with them, the impression I got was that everyone was under the one roof. Then when I signed up, I realised their company was split up among many different countries. It never really sat well with me working with a 'freelancer' type of agency where there was no central office and everyone was working from home. And in the end, I definitely felt I wasn't getting the collaborative value you get from when you have one team working under the same physical roof. Anyway, I switched things over to Disruptive Advertising. Their team is all under the one room and they have many different departments. I'm working with them on Google and Facebook PPC for now but they have offered help in other areas (like video production concept ideas) which were included as a gesture of good will (I never paid for this extra help). The guys I work with at Disruptive, Derek and Kevin (very smart bastards by the way) are always at the top of their game. I don't have to go to them with ideas, they come to me with ideas. It's a great feeling jumping on my weekly calls with them and having 2 very smart brains working with me, on my business. I highly recommend them - both Disruptive Advertising - and Derek & Kevin. Thanks very much!

Overall Experience: I have been working with Disruptive Advertising for a few months now, and I have had a great experience so far. We are regularly discussing goals and budgets, and the team does a good job at managing to those expectations. Our calls are very effective because they are structured, but also informal enough to have open dialogue around strategy. I truly feel like Disruptive Advertising is an extension of my team. Our results have progressed really well over the last couple months. The team stays on top of trends, and they are providing technical ideas that are helpful to my business. The value I am getting, when compared to the fee I am paying for the service, is a no brainer.

Overall Experience: I've gotta give a massive shoutout to Disruptive and their team. While I may be one to gush, it is all genuine - they make it feel like we're all in this together, not just a business-client thing. TJ Bishop is the man in charge, and he's been super cool about everything. He knows his stuff and makes things easy to understand. Shelby Crummer handles the Google Ads magic, Cory Wray handles all of our Social Media, and Andrew Gormally rocks the SEO game. They're all solid, no BS, and they really know their stuff. Nolan Haycock, the Sales Manager, is also a straight shooter. No salesy stuff, just an honest guy who's there to help whenever. Overall, Disruptive is one of the best down-to-earth team Ive worked with in a while.

Overall Experience: The Best Digital Marketing Company. Disruptive Advertising has helped my companies start and organize our existing ads. They have helped us optimize our ad budgeting, content, geographic targeting, and conversion tracking. The projects that they've helped me out with are running Google, Bing and Facebook/Instagram ads. For one of my companies they helped us restructure our ads correctly and create new ad content. With my other company, we started our ads for the first time and they've done such a great job from beginning to end. I have hired multiple digital marketing agencies in the past and they cannot even get close to what Disruptive Advertising does. What I like best is the team. They are well organized and have such great communication skills. I flew out and visit their office because I wanted to make sure that the company I hired was well organized and has a great culture in their business. I highly recommend Disruptive Advertising they are the best at what they do.

Our goals were to expand our brand visibility, bring in net-new names into the database and bottom-of-funnel /ready-to-buy leads to Sales. Disruptive has been great at managing our goals, expectations and always meeting our discussed deadlines. Becca, our campaign project manager is great! She’s very organized, knowledgeable, innovative and market savvy. I rarely have to follow-up with her which is very much appreciated. She really works with us like an extended member of our marketing team. We really enjoy working with her.  Since implementing Google Ads PPC in 2021, we received 152% more sourced global opportunities from this campaign than initially anticipated. Overall Experience: The work they have done for us at Adobe (B2B focused) has been spectacular. Our team at Disruptive has achieved off-the-chart results in our time working with them (almost 12 months) and proves to be diligent, intelligent, organized, and personable—the last of which really matters when integrating with your own team/culture.They have also quickly adapted to know our content and company ops. They have created great paid social copy and creative assets (static, video, and animated GIFs), helping find what performs best and letting the data speak for itself. They've also helped us find new ways to segment audiences and report on effectiveness and message penetration on LinkedIn and Twitter. Would recommend to any brand looking for what Disruptive has to offer.
