Pros:

  • Worked with Northwestern over the course of nine years to develop, deploy, and maintain an enterprise system for our core facilities. Now being deployed and developed at four other universities.
  • The best thing about working with Table XI is their amazing team. I have had the opportunity to work with several of their team members and they all bring a great amount of knowledge, energy, and fun. No matter what challenges we throw at them, they are always up for the task.
  • In 2014, we began working with Table XI as we sought a local agency with expertise in matching algorithms. Throughout the years, Table XI has become our trusted technology partner and a one-stop shop for us. Given that we have no development staff in-house, we have relied heavily on Table XI to help us identify and implement the right solutions that meet our evolving needs. Table XI not only has deep technical expertise but broad knowledge of the industry. For us, their ability to meet our wide range of needs was critical to helping us move forward quickly.
  • High quality code - our fairly complex system has been running for seven years without a serious outage. Exceptionally responsive - even minor issues are resolved quickly.

Cons:

  • A little pricey, but the product is much better than what you get when you've outsourced to Latvia.
  • Table XI's costs are higher than some of the other agencies in the market, but the value they have given is priceless. The caliber of their work has saved us time and resources in the long run.
  • It is difficult to say what I liked the least because overall my experience has been positive. Our team has worked so closely with Table XI on several projects that in many cases it seems that our teams are blended into one. Like any team, sometimes challenges arise with how to approach problems, but we always figure out a way to make it work.
  • Not a low cost option, but you definitely get value for the investment.

Pros:
Table XI did a really good job kicking off the project by helping us with requirements gathering and project planning. They had some great exercises to facilitate this process and I particularly enjoyed how they teased out how flexible we were in terms of scope, budget, quality, and timeline. Doing so helped us ensure our expectations were all aligned prior to starting work. Table XI also maintains a great engineering culture, which was exhibited by their engineers.
Cons:
When debriefing on the project to see if we had additional needs, Table XI was able to identify several areas of future improvement, but not necessarily a concrete plan on how they could help us resolve these issues.

Overall Experience: We worked with Table XI to implement some JavaScript based features that we would ultimately embed on our retailer partners' websites. This particular domain leads to a lot of engineering challenges but Table XI handled them in stride. The overall experience working with Table XI was great, they were prompt, professional and highly engaged from start to finish.

Pros:
We used TXI for a design sprint and further front end development of that functionality. Loved how efficient they were with the design sprint and were able to deliver a succinct story on the user research they conducted. Our team was involved in coming up with ideas for the new flow of information and our suggestions were taken and made into a prototype that was easy for us to demonstrate to stakeholders and customers. Their front end devs were very efficient and delivered good work. Their Sr. Engineers were thorough in their analysis and delivery of requirements. There were some hiccups with being able to test some functionality towards the end and they worked with us to help figure out the issues and fix it.
Cons:
I wish, they had been a bit more vocal when they were not receiving responses from us or raised it as risks to the product sponsor on our side. That could have led to fewer last minute changes.

Pros:
Table XI is honest, transparent, detail-oriented, smart, and creative. TBH, I could go on and on about them. They clearly understand the best way to build incredible custom software. I would say out of all the positive things I could say about Table XI, we liked the partnership mentality the best. I would highly recommend Table XI if you're looking for someone to truly integrate and partner with you.
Cons:
This is a difficult question to answer because there is very little I disliked about Table XI.

Overall Experience: We had an extensive research process in place at the beginning of our project to select our dev vendor. It's odd typing that now because Table XI isn't a vendor at all, they're a true partner. I can not say enough about Table XI, our dedicated team, and our experience. They executed the project near perfectly (I say near because I don't think it's possible to actually execute any dev project 100% perfectly), on time, and on budget. There are a lot of decision points in a development project and Table XI really helped us make the best decision, every step of the way. They are not a "yes firm." They were upfront, honest, and transparent with us throughout the entire project. Some other firms have a penchant for saying yes to everything and then not being able to deliver on their promises. Table XI does not do that. In hindsight, choosing any other firm would have been a misstep on our part. Overall experience was 10/10.

Pros:
Table XI has a great approach to creative solutions, and through their focus on research and design sprints, they are really fun to solve problems with. They have great project leaders and designers, and they are very proactive about anticipating any issues that might come up and resolving them. Their whole team is full of incredible people who are intelligent, insightful, creative, and most importantly, fun to work with for 10 hour design sprint days.
Cons:
Because they don't have the largest team, we have to be more proactive and anticipatory of our needs. We're glad to do it for them, but know that you should contact them as early as you can.

Pros:
I've worked with TableXI a long time and really love their dedication to their clients and quality of their output. They really know their stuff and can help take your web app, mobile app, or even your company to the next level by offering up the technical expertise you may be lacking. Also, their chef prepared lunches make working meetings a unique experience that is hard to find elsewhere and cuts down on wasteful/extravagant client meals.
Cons:
There's very little negative I have to say about TableXi. You definitely get way you pay for (they aren't the least expensive, but the value is there).

Pros:
The TXI team not only did great work, but they also were really great to work with. They were very responsive and operated as if they were a part of our own company. Culturally, they're a great fit. They also brought thought leadership to the project, and helped us think through better, more ideal approaches to our technology efforts.
Cons:
TXI is a boutique firm, so they don't have a deep bench of consultants that can be mobilized at a moment's notice. You have to coordinate timing and scope of work closely with their account managers, because you might miss the window where their team is free to work on your project.

Pros:
The best thing about Table XI is that I felt like I had a partner who completely understood my objectives and goals and executed on that vision. At the same time, they challenged me to consider other options/thoughts that I hadn't considered. They have a mature, experienced team that brings a "can do" attitude to the project that gives you confidence in a successful result.
Cons:
This may sound hard to believe, but the thing I liked least is that we couldn't work together more. I will be looking for more opportunities to engage with them in the future.

Pros:
Sophisticated product development process highlighted by creative methods to align business leader project goals with technical team performance.
Cons:
We’ve worked with TXI for 6+ years. That familiarity may have contributed to some slack in their normal business practices, specifically project management. Detailed project management, planning, resource loading and expected costs were hard to come by at times and/or too opaque, creating risk of overruns, making it difficult to work against a fixed budget.

Table XI is truly a "think outside the box" organization of creative people. The team there is always thoughtful in their recommendations and will properly vet all ideas before proposing an implementation.
Cons:
Even with several large projects pending, they make time for a small business like ours, so I have nothing to comment here.

Overall Experience: Table XI transitioned us from a printed publication to a custom online database over 5 years ago. They continue to innovate with us through “project inceptions,” a great approach to brainstorming ideas, and optimize IDC's Portal Database, so that the experience we provide with our product content is both dynamic and meaningful to our customers.

I love the team at TXI. They are true partners to us and invested in the success of our organization. The team is extremely talented and fun to work with. The designers, developers and project managers know their work like the back of their hand.
Cons:
As with any agile developer, it's hard for us as the client–on a limited budget–to estimate how much a build or feature add will cost. Wish we had more predictability on that front

Overall Experience: "Tech Done Right" sums it up well! With TXI we know we're not only getting quality code but also a strategic partner helping us prioritize stories for development. That discipline has helped us to avoid implementing features that we later clearly saw weren't really needed. TXI's engineers have empathy for the end user and that's really important for us. We highly recommend them!
