I am a DIY'er that needed a reliable, fast eCommerce site that I could go in and change/update often (without it costing me a fortune) as I tested many things for my startup. My previous site was crashing often, and had a lot of glitches that were costing me a ton of sales, as well as a ton of money (and days/weeks delay) anytime I needed to make a change. As soon as I switched to hosting and web design from Cascade Valley Designs our sales increased exponentially. Ann-Marie helped get my site transferred over to safe, reliable platforms, tested for all incompatibilities and broke us free of a super glitchy custom theme from a previous designer/host that did nothing but cause issues and was costing me hundreds of dollars per month. She also helped guide me through recommendations for website builders that are very user-friendly so I can go in and "play" and test all I want, and the changes are immediate. She also is extremely responsive - anytime there has been any issue (usually from me adding a plug-in that isn't compatible or well-tested) she gets right back to me and fixes things ASAP. On top of all of that, Ann-Marie is always letting me know about new and better options that may be a fit for me, she is friendly and pleasant to work with, she actually LISTENS, and all around it's been a wonderful experience! Whether you want Cascade Valley Designs to create a great site for you that is turnkey, or you want to DIY it like I do, I highly recommend them! November 23, 2021

Pros:

  • For a build as large as ours, I think it could have been helpful if we'd had a shared communications or task management platform, like Slack or Airtable/Notion/Coda/Monday, rather than having to rely on emails to communicate.

Overall Experience: I work in the tech industry and have had many different vendors as well as in-house teams with whom I've interacted on websites. Ann Marie is an experienced professional, able to do what needs to be done and then document it -- again, "pro" -- it with carefully made videos so that I can easily maintain it. Our website had some difficult information architecture challenges, many types of customers, many ways the products and services could be configured, and an emerging product type so there's also a lot of insight and explanatory materials. Her suggestions on how to organize these unclear customer journeys were informed by current industry practices, and gave us some elegant results that delighted the stakeholders. Highly recommended!

The work is always fantastic. After they set something up they provide a video that demonstrates how things work and what I need to do to update things. They make everything so easy. She took our ideas - no matter how vague an informed - and implemented them to create a beautiful website that we’re proud to have customers see and use. They answered all questions and solved any issues quickly - sometimes within an hour - and were very patient with my lack to tech ability. Overall Experience: in my 30 years of running a small business, most professionals and individuals providing me with services don't live up to my rather insane detail-orientedness. Cascade Valley Designs and Ann Marie are one of the few exceptions to that observation.
