What makes a quality review? A good review is—

  • Specific. It has plenty of examples and details.

  • Readable. It uses good grammar, correct spelling, and a balanced use of punctuation and capitalization.

  • Objective. It gives both the pros and the cons.

  • Current. It's about the current version of the software, and describes your recent usage of the software (within the past year). 

  • Relevant. It talks about things that matter to software buyers, stays on topic, and describes your experiences.

You can do it in 5 minutes or less

First, visit Capterra.com and search for a product to review that you currently use or have used recently. Click the “Write a Review” link at the top right corner of the page. Then note your honest and specific feedback. Submit it for approval, making sure it meets our guidelines. And that's it! 

How reviews are approved

Our Quality Assurance team:

  1. Verifies the reviewer is a real person.

  2. Checks for conflicts of interest with the reviewer or companies they are affiliated with.

  3. Scans for originality, authenticity, and quality.

Does Capterra offer incentives for reviews?

Yes. You may be invited to receive incentive offers as our way of saying thank you for your time and effort. Be on the lookout for an email invitation to our exclusive incentive program. Click on a link from one of the offers you receive and submit an eligible review to receive the incentive. Only published reviews submitted after clicking on an active offer are eligible.

How do I claim my incentives?

Offers vary. But, generally, after we approve and publish your incentive-eligible review, we email instructions on how to claim your offer from our third-party provider.

About those incentives…

Is my review eligible for a gift card? Yes, if...

  • It passed our QA process and was published.

  • You clicked an active incentive link to submit the review.

  • You clicked on any email confirmation links we sent.

  • You submitted the review before the campaign deadline.

  • You submitted your review before we reached the maximum limit of reviews for the campaign.

  • You have not reached the rewards limit for the campaign. Some campaigns have a limited number of rewards per campaign or per person. 

It's one of our offers. Some offers are direct from the vendor or other third party. Also, please triple-check your Spam and Trash folders for emails from [email protected] so you get all the rewards you have coming to you. How long does it take to get a gift card?

Typically, we send gift cards within three weeks after publishing an eligible review. 

Do incentives expire?

Yes. Unclaimed incentives expire after thirty days and cannot be redeemed or exchanged. You can view expired offers in your portal page's "Expired Gift Card" section for reference.
