Back-end
The back end of a system is the side that users rarely deal with, as it's the server side. Everything in the back end happens on the server, even though it may be in response to input from a user. This is in contrast to the front end, which is the user interface and everything the user can physically see and interact with.
What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Back-end
Small businesses who create their own apps or develop their own websites will have systems that allow them to program either from the front- or back-end. Front-end programming tends to have graphical interfaces and low code options. Back-end programming involves manual coding, server management, and a greater level of technical expertise.
