Synchronous

Synchronous communications have a constant time interval between consecutive pieces of data or events. One example is real-time streaming video via services such as YouTube or Netflix, transmitted continuously to your device. Both systems—the sender and the receiver—must be "in sync" so that the receiver knows when one block of information ends and another begins.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Synchronous

Large data transfers usually use synchronous communication, allowing the system to quickly send large data blocks (instead of single characters at a time). Understanding synchronous data can help you determine if it's the right method to transfer large groups of data for your business.
