Common Gateway Interface (CGI)

The Common Gateway Interface enables a web server to send or receive data from an application such as a database. A CGI script passes a request from the web server to the application. The script receives data from the application and returns that data to a web client, which is typically a web browser.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Common Gateway Interface (CGI)

CGI enables SMBs to generate web content for their customers by connecting a web server with a CGI script. Without CGI, customers won't be able to add products to their online shopping baskets or fill out online forms.
