3GPP (Third-generation Partnership Project)

3GPP is a partnership between seven telecommunications standard development organizations (ARIB, ATIS, CCSA, ETSI, TSDSI, TTC and TTA), also known as "Organizational Partners." It was initially formed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute to provide industry-standard specifications for 3G mobile and cellular communications. As most businesses are shifting towards 5G technologies, 3GPP has paved the way for upgraded security standards that today's 5G technology utilizes.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About 3GPP (Third-generation Partnership Project)

Most new technologies use the standards established by 3GPP to lay the framework for new ones and without it, it would be impossible for SMBs to conduct business using a cellular connection. This would mean that SMBs would be forced to remain in one physical location to perform tasks like taking phone calls or receiving emails, leading to decreased productivity.
