Alphanumeric (Alphameric)

Alphanumeric, sometimes referred to as alphameric, is a term used to describe all of the letters and numerals that exist within a specific language. For those who use the English language, alphameric characters are composed of both the 26 letters of the alphabet (A thru Z) and the 10 arabic numerals (0 to 9). Typically, operating systems only allow computer users to name files using alphanumeric characters. Most file naming conventions are usually limited to 26 alphabetic characters and 10 numerals.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Alphanumeric (Alphameric)

Small and midsize businesses (or any businesses of any size for that matter) use alphanumeric file naming conventions to assign names to company files. Small businesses with limited budgets often use free spreadsheet software such as Google Sheets to keep track of personal customer information such as customer emails and addresses, which is made up of alphanumeric characters.
