Cell Site

A cell site refers to the location of where all of the equipment is needed for the transmission and reception of radio signals to operate cellular voice and data functions. Cell sites are also frequently referred to as cell towers and typically consist of a multitude of different antennas. One cell site, for example, may contain antennas to receive and transmit 2G, 3G and 4G data.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Cell Site

Cell sites play a large role in determining whether a specific cellular service will be efficient for SMB communication needs. Typically, this information is presented to SMBs and general consumers as “coverage maps”. If a coverage map shows a high level of availability in the SMB’s location, it is likely that a cell site is nearby.
