CompTIA Security+ is an entry-level IT security certification offered by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). The CompTIA+ certification is one of the first certifications that individuals who want to pursue a career in the cybersecurity field typically earn. The CompTIA Security+ certification exam focuses on future IT professional’s skills regarding: cybersecurity technologies and tools, cyber threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities, security risk management practices, system/network architecture and design, identity and access management, and cryptography and public key infrastructure. To obtain their CompTIA Security+ certification, IT professionals receive a score of 750 out of 900 on their CompTIA Security+ exam. CompTIA Security+ is updated every three years to account for industry changes.
