Geostationary Satellite
A geostationary satellite, also called a geosat or geosynchronous satellite, is any satellite that moves in the same direction as the earth at the same rate. Although they're moving, these satellites appear to remain stationary. They orbit the earth at about 22,000 miles above the equator.
