Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)

Capterra Glossary

Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)

Time-division multiplexing (TDM) is a communications technique that transmits two or more low-speed signals into a single high-speed transmission channel. It does this by breaking low-speed signals into different segments and combining them for transmission. TDM optimizes bandwidth by allowing multiple low-speed signals to be transmitted simultaneously, improving traffic volumes in communication networks.

What Small and Midsize Businesses Need to Know About Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)

Telephone lines that use the TDM method can improve communications for SMBs by transporting voice messages at high speeds. That can reduce crosstalk in phone communication and allow business owners to exchange information more successfully.
