Pros: The RFP tool has made life so much easier when sourcing hotel and putting together proposals. Before cvent all of this was manual, now it is automated and you can review each hotel in one place before you source them. For the event management tool, there are just so many features and widgets that you can use for your events. If booking hotels the registration form can integrate with passkey so the attendee can reserve a room right away. It also integrates with our GDS to our air team has the most up to date requests in their system.
The On Arrival suite and the Crowd Compass app are huge time savers for large events. We used the On Arrival suite to check in attendees at a recent event, print their name badges, and confirm their optional activities all in one place and on average it took less than 5 minutes to do all of this. The Crowd Compass app was easy to set up and customize for each event and really streamlined the onsite process for our planners and attendees. I have used the app for a conference I attended as well as for events that I planned. Instead of printing out hundreds of pages (schedules, maps, surveys, so on...) for each person Crowd Compass houses everything an attendee needs. You can upload the event agenda, map of the conference center, you can send notifications about room changes or special pop up events, take real time polls/surveys, and network with the other event attendees through the app.

Cons: It is difficult to navigate and not very intuitive, I frequently find myself searching for the field I need or calling support because I have an issue I can't solve...and I have used the event management tool for over 3 years now, on a regular basis too! The travel module does not integrate well with the rest of the event management models. I am hoping that Flex will solve some of the issues but that will not be completed until Oct. 2018. Reporting is confusing, they offer so many report options which is great but finding the correct report is a challenge. You can create a custom report but again the types you choose from are not intuitive. For example, I recently had to create an air actual report so I chose the report type air actual; however with that report type certain features like airline and the record locator are not available (those fields seem kind of important when pulling a report about flight). I have to select the report type, air actual details, in order for those fields to show.

Pros: It continues to evolve, they don't just make an update and leave it sit for the next big update. Continuous evolution of the product makes it extremely user friendly and offer solutions to issues you didn't even know could be fixed.

Cons: There are parts of the software that do not do everything we would like; some customization and functionality. However, I am able to share my feedback directly with the team and more often than not, within a given amount of time they have placed that item on the road map and it's completed.

Overall: I inherited our Cvent account when I began at my job nearly 7 years ago and couldn't be more pleased with how much our partnership with them has grown. Through the years they continue to be searching for how to be better, more innovative, always on the look out for the next new thing; all while continuing to keep the focus of the customer top of mind. I am part of the Cvent Advocates program, spoke at the past 3 annual events, presented on dozens of webinars and fostered real friendships with the employees. Cvent feels like an extension of my team, rather than a product or service that we use. I couldn't imagine using a different partner, every so often we have done our due diligence and nothing holds a candle to what Cvent has to offer. If you are willing to put in a little bit of effort, Cvent and its team will match you tenfold and do everything in their power to help make you and your event a success. Thank you, Cvent, for making my job easier.

Recommendations to other buyers: You cannot expect it to do all the work for you. Yes, this software is extremely user friendly and will automate many processes and procedures as well as make your job easier. But just like most things, you have to be willing to put in the effort to be sure that you are getting the most out of it. If you are willing to learn more, the team at Cvent will be there with bells on to continue to make your experience even better.

Pros: I appreciate the many tools that exist within the Cvent system. It's truly remarkable that CVent can help you plan and successfully execute every moment from the first step onwards. They seem to have thought of everything!

Cons: I have found that since they are often attempting to 'do it all', the reporting options through Cvent can often be very cumbersome and leave you sifting through too many options. However, please keep in mind that, if you are lost, they will help!

Overall: Cvent is an incredible platform that, when utilized to its fullest, is a planner's dream. It is possible that you can use it for every step of your planning process starting with venue choice, through budgeting and marketing, and ending with full reporting and broadcasting. It also has multiple platforms built into it that allow your meetings to run smoothly. These include web applications for attendees, quick registration tools, and various ways to track your progress along the way. They also provide integration with their own tools as well as some tools your company/organization may already be using.
Throughout the entire process, CVent provides excellent customer support with check-ins that meet your needs/desires. If you'd like them to check in they will and they will also frequently review your account to find ways in which you can better utilize their assistance and products! If you'd rather have a hands-off approach, they're fine with that too.

Recommendations to other buyers: Even if you choose the most basic and intro-level subscription, they will do their best to make it work for you and ensure you are utilizing every aspect of your access to the fullest. It's remarkable to me that the account managers are always trying their best to make the product be as workable for you and your organization as possible.

Pros: The integration start to finish can cover anything you need for an event. The software is very robust to allow you to customize for almost any scenario. Registration options are very good for multiple registrations and easy to modify or switch. Customer service is very helpful when you need it.

Cons: Along with the robustness of the software, certain quirks come with it. Some events have a lot of repetitive tasks you have to complete to get it all working properly and some items are hard to find.

Overall: CVENT is great for running single or reoccurring events. If you have a lot of the same people coming, the system can remember them to make the process easier depending on how much personal info you collect. If you use other CVENT software, most of it can be linked to make it even easier to make everything seamless from event apps to on site check ins. Some admin items can be hard to find even after using it for a while because of the logic they use to choose what items are under what headings but not a huge issue. If you are using the software to host your event site, it's best if you can code it all because working with their design and coding team can be frustrating. Customer support is very quick to respond and resolve issues but make sure you contact your account manager and general support just in case your account manager is unavailable at the time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't hesitate to use customer service if you run into any issues. Make sure you test anything you do thoroughly and have other people with fresh eyes test as well on different devices.

Be prepared for a 180 degree experience with Cvent's Event Management solution.

Pros: Cvent's Event Management solution truly automates your meetings & events marketing, registration and check-in processes. Upload your attendees with from an Excel or CSV file. Create and send save the date, registration open, reminder emails and practically anything else you can think of to effectively market your meetings & events. Check your registration numbers at-a-glance. Run reports to see who registered, who didn't, and even who is possibly thinking about it with the abandoned registrations feature. My favorite tool is OnArrival (event check-in). Put those days behind you of paper tickets, attendee checklists, and long lines & chaos at the registration table. Upon arrival, your attendees check-in on an iPad, or you can scan them with a mobile device, and look cutting edge while doing it!!!

Cons: I would say that Cvent's Event Management platform, like any other tech platform, has a learning curve a moderate one. Setting up my first event was challenging even with training. To my surprise, setting up my second event was even more challenging. Partly because I challenged myself to create vs. copy (feature) my second event from scratch. Due to the platform's many, and I do mean many, features and functionality, I found it difficult to remember all the steps (menu navigation) to create an event. Undeterred, I contacted Cvent's Customer Support (really Customer Care as they go the mile for you) to help me create my second event. For the second time around, I worked smarter and documented all the steps. I can honestly say, it's been smooth sailing ever since! If I run into a snag or have a question, I contact Customer Support or look to my Cvent Community for help. There are many meetings & events solutions out there, but it's hard to beat one of the first and best to market! Stop searching and give Cvent a try.

Overall: Cvent's event management software saves countless man hours and potential marketing costs.

Pros: Ability to manage very simple and complex events. Integration of events, communication and association management systems.
Client success manager that is assigned to your account is great to navigate best practices.

Cons: Would like to see embedded video on e-Marketing platform.

Overall: We are a multi-client firm that focuses on non-profit association management. Most association management systems have very limited event and communication platforms for the complex clients we have. We focused on getting every client on CVENT for communications and all of our events. This has been great to go into one login and system to manage all clients. We then focused on using CVENT as our association management system utilizing the members only section that can be created and tracking and managing CE's. CVENT has been great for us because everything is housed all together and the integrations are terrific. We can put our clients on CVENT whether they have a small or large budget.

When looking at the cost compared to other systems the pricing was comparable, but we were impressed with the options of customer service, online resources and in-person support that are available. I truly see the advances CVENT making that it will be considered a large player in the association management system arena.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend investing in training early and work with your client success manager and you will have a great start. There are different ways you can do something on CVENT but having someone show you a best practice is essential.

Pros: I like that the software is easy to navigate and has a great customer support community in situations where I can't find what I am looking for. I do not often have to reach out to speak to anyone because the information is so readily available for any one to review on their own.

Cons: I wish there was more flexibility for airport arrival and departure fields and the ability to turn of the yes/no toggle buttons at the top of the travel pages while in step mode. While there are easy enough work arounds for either issue, I find it is a constant complaint from most clients that we can not change this. However I understand these issues will be addressed with the updates that are coming down the pipeline!

Overall: I like Cvent and I think once they release the new responsive decision and advanced reporting it will be even more phenomenal of a company!

Recommendations to other buyers: When you begin using cvent, take the time to check out the cvent community and look around. It is often easy to compare it to your old event management tools and find the bad but once you stop looking for problems, you will find that it can handle most event situations. I resisted at first but now truly find using the software a pleasure!

Pros: It's the total package. From sourcing venues, RFPs, budgeting, marketing, communications, contact management, surveying, event management, graphic design, travel, seating, hotel blocks, you name it, it does it , and does it well. Cvent knows how many hats event planners wear and is with you every step of the way .The icing on the cake is the 24/7 customer support. Competent, professional and free help is always a call or email away. You are in a panic at 3am because you are having trouble figuring something out? Cvent support is there to save the day (I know this because I've been there, done that!).

Cons: It is an investment but the ROI is definitely there. If I had to nitpick, sometimes the HTML editor can be finicky but customer support is there to get it sorted.

Overall: Saves so much time (and stress). Allows our organization to host more events without having to increase staffing. We are far better able to communicate with our members and get real time feedback on every aspect of our meetings and conferences. They are very happy with the end user experience (i.e. registration).

Overall Cvent is very helpful when you are a one person circus for events in the office.

Pros: All of the different reporting options and other products that cvent has to offer. I am excited about the new project flex since that will allow for more customization and ability top make every website for registration look unique to its own purpose.

Cons: There are times when I am performing a certain task that the cvent software is not very user friendly. For example when I am viewing all invitess and registrants in order to advance to another page I have to scroll all the way to the bottom and it does not show as an option at the top of page. Also, if I am on page two of the attendee list and click on a name. When I go back it does not take me back to the page it was on, it takes me to the very first page. So when you have 4 pages and on top of that i have to scroll every time to the bottom of the page it is annoying. Also, Cvent does not yet have the capability to do bulk payments or edits when changing a registration type.

I struggled with 'user friendly', at first...I've since learned to navigate and am happy with CVENT

Pros: Even at the minimum defaults, the overall presentation of an event is highly professional.
As a non-for-profit organization driven by data, the data this system has the potential to collect is phenomenal.
The payment process and financial reporting is also easy to use and a huge timesaver.
The support services are the absolute best I have experienced.

Cons: Not as intuitive as I expected
Registration Types do not auto-alpha when translating from selecting registration types to posting them on the event webpage
Would like more options for customizing conference sessions and collecting/reporting the registration data
Would also like to see templates for non-for-profit organizations

Overall: The ability to collect data regularly and consistently.
To readily access that data.
The potential to further collect data significant to our non-for-profit organization.
We are far ahead in our ability to create comprehensive reports than we were prior to Cvent

Pros: It super easy to submit a meeting rfp. I find the hotel sourcing tool to be very intuitive, efficient and overall all extremely easy to use. I once did it in the time it took my plane to finish boarding. I also like that while sourcing hotels, the system maps them for you. this is really helpful when you are trying to find hotels close to a particular place or another hotel. Like when sourcing overflow hotels.

Cons: I wish we could better manage room blocks. I find people that quickly accessing someone's travel/hotel reservation takes a lot of clicks. I also find it odd that they call it travel and not just hotel reservations or something hotel related. Anyways, it's also hard to quickly find out how many nights someone is staying or create a room list by room nights for determining food counts and particular meeting attendance.

Overall: Quite a bit. For one, I now feel a lot more comfortable using the tool. Before, we used Lanyon and I felt like I needed a PHD to navigate the toold. Now I'm comfortable with the tool and can quickly access what I need.

Pros: I love that Cvent is constantly improving. They really take feedback seriously and work hard to find solutions to your problems. We have a very complex event, and have found solutions to the vast majority of our issues, and where some solutions were a little sticky at first, updated versions and new features have consistently improved functionality. I have found the support team helpful and while our initial representative was not the greatest, I requested a new rep which was processed quickly, and he has been wonderful.

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve, but if you require a platform that can handle an event's complexity, I believe this is to be expected. Still, there are a few items that I still don't find intuitive in the interface, but I am confident the release of Cvent Flex will address many of these issues.

Overall: We have been using CVent for our fitness conferences for approximately three years. The program is average at best. I am disappointed that there is not more customization since many of the reports and functionality are very difficult to gear towards your specific business. Additionally, we have had some issues with the program accepting payments from customers along with the way that the reports mislead you into believing that a payment has been processed successfully when it really has not been settled and funds have been entered into bank. When we consulted CVent they provided guidance that caused all of our payments to not settle for five days, which really caused a lot of needless work. They also need to provide an app that is not so pricey. Lastly, you will receive support from them but it is often overseas and the reps are very difficult to understand due to language barriers.

Recommendations to other buyers: CVent will tell you that they are capable of providing more than they really promise.

Pros: The great inventory selection. Love the maps and filters. Like the information showing the meeting space offerings and the age of the venue and information such as last renovation. Really like the comparison reporting.

Cons: Wish we had access to Trip advisor so I can review recent reviews and ratings for lodging when I'm booking meetings that require lodging. Cumbersome to jump back and forth between CVENT and Trip Advisor. Imperative that our employees feel comfortable and safe with the lodging choices. Ratings for cvent venues do not necessarily mirror lodging ratings. Lodging drives my choice for the meeting venues when lodging is also required.

Overall: Very intuitive and saved mucho time for our sourcing team. We are able to administer it and have about 15 people in the field working closely with us to source most effectively.

Recommendations to other buyers: GREAT tool! Has saved us a lot of time and helped us locate difficult to find venues quickly. Recently used for six very large meetings with limited hotel space.

Cvent is great, but it doesn't have tools that apply to the whole meeting/conference industry, yet.

Pros: Sending an email to all the no responses has been easier than ever.
Custom reports

Cons: Unformatted reports, each time you pull a report you have to re-format, add in a title, etc.
Air Actual reports

Overall: I've used Cvent in both for a non-profit industry association and in the corporate industry. Cvent encompasses a lot of the tools needed for industry associations and the service they provide to help was excellent. Using Cvent in the corporate industry has been okay however it's lacking on some items that corporate meeting planners really do need and use. I do feel confident that Cvent does listen to their clients and they do submit enhancements to their software that actually gets implemented.

Recommendations to other buyers: Cvent does listen, so if there is something you'd like to have and it's not there, don't accept that that's how things should be done. The more people speak up the more this software will get better for you.

Pros: I like that I can send invites to all my attendees at once, but can divide them into different registration paths depending on what info needs to be provided to a particular group. I do have some challenges occasionally trying to figure out how to make something work while building a website, which is the reason for the 4 stars for the Ease of Use

Cons: Customer service. When I call the help line it sometimes takes several times to explain what issue I'm having because the rep doesn't seem to understand what I'm trying to do. I think that these are new representatives and aren't as experienced. Also when I use the chat box I'm not always sure someone is still there because of the delay in their responding to questions.

Overall, Cvent has been a great tool for our team and I can't imagine our jobs without it.

Pros: The Cvent software is a data gold mine. The days of manually updating/manipulating spreadsheets are long gone and it can all be done simultaneously in Cvent. It has saved our team hundreds of hours of work.

Cons: One of the things I like least about Cvent is their pricing structure. There are so many features that our team would love to implement to take our events to the next level (Passkey, OnArrival, etc.) but we often struggle with convincing the budget keepers the cost is worth it. For instance, our team is completely on board with OnArrival, but stakeholders question the thousands of dollars it will cost when we can continue to pre-print tags before the event.

Overall: hours of time saved, real-time data upkeep, travel integration, etc.

Pros: Cvent is a great tool when you have lots of small events that need different lists to manage. It makes creating new events from a template very easy and painless. The user interface is very clean and they continually update it to make it better. The reporting features are robust and very easy to use. The customer service are is very responsive and they are very thorough about their follow up.

Cons: I would love easier features when it comes to customizing the event pages. Something like the Squarespace editor for the actual event sites would make it much easier to see what we are creating instead of relying heavily on HTML skills.

Overall: We as a company get a lot of benefit out of this product. It is easy to use and to keep track of lists. Registration is a breeze once set up and it is very easy to collect data and payment. The customer service is great and they are very helpful and responsive.

Pros: You can duplicate an event.

Cons: See previous comments - there's a lot not to like about the software!

Overall: Cvent is a very frustrating software. It seems like they don't actually consult meeting planners, or else they would know why certain things are needed (assigning meeting rooms to agenda items, making registration items mandatory - right now you have to make mandatory registration questions to be sure you have accurate numbers and then a separate, duplicate process to have them also add their registered events to their agenda to be sure they have an accurate schedule, they need better event templates, they need to eliminate being able to do the same thing in three different ways/locations of the software - this makes it hard to be consistent through the whole process.

Recommendations to other buyers: Yes - stop acquiring new businesses and focus on perfecting the software.

Pros: Very user friendly and easy to understand. If I have a problem or questions, the Customer Service team is so easy to contact and offer immediate feedback and solutions.

Cons: Some of the event settings seem to be is places I wouldn't think to look for them, and I wish I had an "Apply to All" feature that I could check if I wanted my settings to be the same for all my registration paths or registration path pages. Its annoying when I make an update and then have to make that change on each path or in each page.

Overall: I've been using Cvent for almost 3 years now and love this software so much. Everyone from the sales team to account management to customer service is absolutely amazing. The best people I've had the opportunity to work with.

Cvent has made a lot of what we do as Event Planners easier.

Pros: I like the ability to print name badges on site. Also the updated website building module in Abstract Management made our submission process a lot easier and more fun. CrowdCompass is a great app. I am looking forward to the FLEX update.

Cons: Abstract Management still doesn't have the ability to push through sessions to Event Management. The website building capabilities in Event Management are not great - they look like 90s templates. I know that Cvent is changing this to be more like Abstract with FLEX. CrowdCompass' map does not have the ability to give a user directions to where they need to go. Event-In-A-Box, while great for probably most use cases, included materials we did not need.

Overall: The ability to print name badges on site and have the app interact directly with the website, pushing information live to both.

Pros: Cvent's event management solution has plenty of flexible features that make logistics including registration and session tracking a breeze for busy event planners. Plus, the customer service is second to none. (Seriously, one call to their support line will transform the way that you think about help & support lines.)

Cons: It can take a while to learn the ropes and feel comfortable navigating across the platform. That said, after you get the hang of it, using the event management tool will be like second nature.

Overall: The ability to scale an event management solution across our large, enterprise program was a huge win for my team!

Pros: The support given around all solutions. 100% felt everyone was invested in our success.

There is something for every organization, every challenge and existing issue is solvable with Cvent. It was refreshing not to have to jump to many different tool to accomplish our meetings and events.

Cons: It's a little intimidating to get into at first. There's just an overwhelming amount of capability. We didn't really know where to start. Once you cross that start line things get rolling.

Overall: Cvent tackles all the classic event problems and even things that you didn't know could be an issue. Time savings is the initial benefit.

e-RFP tool is easy to use and makes life easier. Expecting great things with the addition of FLEx

Pros: The e-RFP tool can send out multiple RFPs at once and pull a report with everything I need. The Event Management tool allows me to completely control my event; from booking the travel to collecting special requests to pulling together custom reports.

Cons: The current event management module does not connect well with the travel portion. I find myself calling support or creating my own work around because the two system do not integrate.

Overall: I can do everything in one place. I can send out RFPs, collect proposals, award contracts, then transfer that information into my event website.

Pros: It makes it easy and simple and you can brand it as you wish, you get support 24/7 and there is always something new to learn and improve on. I love the training and updates meetings in London, they are great and you get to know more people that work in the same sector.

Cons: Suggestions take long to be implemented, or just do not happen. An example is when you register more than 1 delegate using express ticketing, from the second onwards, cvent just call tag delegates as "guests", guests of the first registration. I mentioned this to the support team long time ago, it should be a way to change this tag as they are not guests, and when you create a new ticket for guests it guests confusing.

My experience with Cvent has been very positive and easy to navigate. The Cvent community is helpful

Pros: Some of the pros with using Cvent are its multi-functionality, ease of use, and the choice of express or standard registration. Being able to find answers in the Cvent community or put in a ticket without much effort helps accelerate customer service.

Cons: One of the cons would be that I didn't have control over our plan until recently and some things are not included that would be helpful going forward. Looking forward to plan renewal so that we can revisit our needs.

Pros: Using the product really easy. The online tutorials for learning new features are easy and hey really help.

Cons: I don't like that not all fields are customizable in the registration modual. Sometimes this causes some problems, but there is usually a work around.

Overall: Overall using Cvent has really helped our business succeed. We are a third party meeting planning company and being able to keep all data for each of our clients organized and consistent is essential. Being able to pull real time data is so helpful.

Recommendations to other buyers: Plan ahead! If you need help doing something new on the platform make sure to schedule yourself some wiggle room time wise.

Pros: It is officiant, I have control of look, feel or the website to meeting my design needs. I have control of reporting through customization.

Cons: The session reports lack the organization. The reports for the sessions need to be relooked at as I have trouble with sessions with the same name but different dates and times (The report does not identify this). Also have the issue of peoples names coming up more then once because of the session selections.

Overall: This software gives me the ability to be organized and have everything I need in one location.

Pros: It sounds silly, but the people are amazing. From the leadership to the help desk, everyone really listens and takes feedback seriously. I also have an amazing partner who is not only implement software, but implement a SMM program throughout my company.

Cons: I'll be the first to admit that I'm a hard to please super-user. Honestly almost all my concerns have been addressed over time. If something doesn't do what I need it to, it's generally updated or I'm given a workaround.

Overall: Saves tons of time and money for my department!

Pros: all event needs in one place. hardware and software are fully integrated. a lot of little details about event management have been built in

Cons: needs UX overhaul. api needs to be rewritten. just more around the cms. needs to open up backend to integrate to other CMSs

Overall: all in one solution. we had a major crash during event that was caused by several vendors not cooperating with each other. we've eliminated several extra vendors and hope this year goes much more smoothly

Pros: I like that you have the ability to use this software as an all-encompassing platform - for contact history, event registration and tracking, reporting and data collecting, and survey collection and feedback for next event

Cons: I think that the additional features are starting to have fees attached to them, rather than just a perk for being a current Cvent account holder - which is costly as it is

Pros: Functionality, customer support and future opportunities to add on other features.

Cons: Customization is lacking without ccs help but this should be improved with Picasso. Some things on the back end are difficult to use or find- like waitlists etc. Not always intuitive

Overall: Cvent software is not perfect- rarely us software like that but I do see that Cvent is taking in feedback and always making changes and improvements. Their focus on more than just registration is amazing- they are providing technology to help all facets of event planning. Customer service is top notch- friendly, helpful and educated.

Pros: I love that the tool is flexible enough to meet any complex need we have. The company is also always improving their software and expanding their reach to areas we will need help with in the future. Support is great - community for self-help, IM for quick help, call for more complex issues 24/7 which is crucial when onsite.

Cons: The tool can become a little complicated because of how customizable it is and some features look a little out-dated - but new releases solve for both of these problems.

Pros: The new Flex platform is amazing. It can not roll out fast enough. It is easy to use for all events no matter the size or complexity. I love that all solutions (Event, OnArrival and CrowdCompass) are seamless .

Cons: It is on the pricey side. My account rep feels more like a salesman and not like a partner. I love the new Flex platform as it is easy to use and flexible but cannot use it due to the inability to currently have a multi language system.

Overall: Peace of mind. A great all encompassing event management system.

Pros: It's easy to set up events and customer support is very responsive (although I do wish the online documentation was a little more complete).

Cons: It's difficult to customize the design or URLs of your event website/registration pages, which makes for a less than optimal experience for users and for tracking. There are a lot of reporting options, though I do wish I could get more granular - for example, I'm unable to see the last field a potential registrant filled in on a form.

Pros: The system is robust and can connect with other systems almost seamlessly and it provides planners with the ability to to control their events and provide clear ROI reports.

Cons: You can only use one email per event. If I want to have a sponsor register their booth and register themselves separately, it requires a separate email. You cannot run reports by organization. I have organizations that want a report showing who has attended which event for the past 5 years. This is difficult to run.

Pros: Cvent has improved our event participants' experience during registration, with admin and group registration and automatic confirmation, receipt and invoice emails. Our team spends less time updating and monitoring registration. Parked reports allow our partners to check in anytime they'd like. We have the flexibility to sell different packages for different audiences.

Cons: Sometimes you'll want to use a feature for the first time, but didn't really set up the event from the beginning correctly to use the feature. There's a learning curve in standardizing how each org. will set up events and use Cvent features.

Pros: Cvent saves so much time through automation of processes. We have more than quadrupled our capacity with same number of people

Cons: The contact management is not a query tool so you need to export to really did into the data or integrate a CRM solution if you manage a lot of data

Overall: We have Quadrupled our capacity to provide event support with the same number of clients. We have tripled our collected fees and increased our profit returned to clients from programs 20 x. Registration is also 4 x higher than before implementation

Pros: very robust - there is a tool in their software system for almost anything you need to do. The software looks at the entire event life-cycle . . from inception through completion

Cons: cost - expensive for companies that don't do very many events to afford the full enterprise suite. I work for a company that can afford the full suite, and when i recommend it for use to others who are start-ups or don't do many events, they cannot afford the full suite's features.

Pros: The full 'end to end' solution is the great thing about Cvent, from registering the need for a meeting or event, through to sourcing, event website, attendee invites (with a whole load of functionality) through budgets, on-site management and ROI.

Cons: Cvent is very complex which limits adoption. Inevitably, with such a great end to end solution, complexity is expected, but nevertheless this is the unfortunate downside...

Cons: The editing windows on emails open out into pop up windows and the menus aren't static - you have to scroll up and down each time you want to change something - very frustrating!

Overall: I use Cvent for websites , managing contacts and sending marketing emails. Generally, fit for purpose and easy to use. A bit clunky in places but regular updates and improvements being made. The customer support team on the phones are good, but I would prefer a guide on how to search in the help and support centre - the language I use to search doesn't often match with Cvent terms!

Overall: My company has worked with cvent for years, and I started a year and a half ago. There are many options in cvent, which is very nice because if you want to do something, the option is usually there for you, if you know where to look. Customer support can be rough though, because the people tend not to know much about cvent, especially if it's complicated, and then they say they will get back to you, but they don't, at least not until much later (and our events are over by then...) But overall, a great product!

Pros: CVENT has many bells and whistles and is an amazing piece of software. The events you can set up can be complex and your customers can have a great experience.

Cons: The software can almost be too complicated when you want to put on a simple event. We use it here at Long & Foster for classes and many classes don't need to be presented as complicated events. Sometimes creating simplistic classes takes just as much time as the more complex company events.

Pros: Cvent allows me to take my events from the idea stage, through sourcing, registration, all the way to reconciliation.

Cons: There are limitations with every software, but Cvent is always updating so issues you have today may be solved in the next release!

Overall: I've been using Cvent for several years and I've been able to expand my current company's usage of it and make us more valuable to clients.

Recommendations to other buyers: Cvent has so many different pieces to it that every company with events can find some way that Cvent can improve what they do.

Pros: It's user-friendly, both to the planners and to the users. They add updates and listen to requests for changes/features. My account rep makes me feel like a real person; love the extra time she puts in to our relationship.

Cons: Some minor limitations, but they are always advancing. Our team and our events tend to have very specific needs, but Cvent help & support always help me find work-arounds if they don't have something built in (yet!).

Pros: It's user friendly and easy to navigate. The support team is generally helpful, and the tool has a lot of capabilities

Cons: the travel integration with other tools isn't always the best. occasionally pulls connecting flight info rather than flights directly in and you cannot use email address as matching criteria.

Overall: single event reporting, cross event reporting, less manual and more streamlined process, integration with other cvent tools for an overall strategic meetings program.

Pros: All the different services offered - one stop shopping to enhance the overall experience to our end user. We use registration, mobile app, lead retrivial, and on arrival services to complete our end to end experience.

Cons: Billing process with lead devices. The process for billing is too long from when the event ends and we are finally billed for services. This causes issues with our internal tracking of expenses to close an event.

Pros: The software is really smart. I love all of the advanced filters, data tags, and settings that let you customize your registrant's experience from start to finish. I have been using the software for three years and I'm still learning new things every day.

Cons: The software is not always user friendly or intuitive. However, they have a great customer support team that will help you figure it all out. Once you know it, you know it.

Pros: It is flexible and meets many needs for event management, venue sourcing, and full SMM programs. It also allows for quite a bit of creativity and is a huge asset to a large and diverse meeting planning population.

Cons: Lacks some features, functionality, and flexibility that large corporations with hundreds of users across 5 regions might benefit from to assistance with system administration and customization to various needs.

We could not have accomplished what we did without Cvent.

Pros: Cvent is best of class event management software. That is the core of the product, in my opinion. The suppliers feature and a great RFP management tool that lets us reach potential venues that we would never have heard from without Cvent's help.

Cons: The ONLY drawback for us is that we cannot manage our unusual membership protocol in Cvent. Our non-profit is an association of institutions. Membership fees are paid per institution, but membership benefits are inherited by contacts employed at those member institutions. We have several contacts who are not employed by member institutions. However, the Cvent contact database is not a relational database and so it is hard to distinguish between the two types of contacts.

Overall: Our events are presented to our members in a professional way.

Two years ago we dove in and starting using Cvent for our 400+ meetings each year.

Pros: Everything from venue selection to final budget reconciliation is in one place.
So many integrations that can/have been added.

Cons: There are so many capabilities that it takes quite a while to get comfortable in the software and discover what works best for you.

Overall: Able to see and run reports on all events across the enterprise. Registration website templates were created to provide consistency in look and feel. Provide registration stats and final budget reports all in one place.

Pros: That it is robust and flexible, you can accomplish so much with this tool. You can handle complex registrations with multiple paths or quickly get a small event registration out. Also the workflow capabilities are great for strategic meetings management programs.

Cons: Nothing really, would love to be able to do more in it though to help consolidate more processes. Also the CSS editing can get a bit wonky here and there.

I've been using Cvent for 5 years - it's a great product.

Pros: I'm on the IT side and not an event planner - but I support our events team, and I really like the Cvent product. It is a great product and easy to use and if we need help, the support is the best - everyone is helpful and they will get your problem solved. I like how we can have events and a mobile app all integrated easily - we even integrate with Salesforce. And... we even integrate with our internal systems - Cvent has a great API with lots of functions and they are constantly improving the API - as well as their product as a whole.

Cons: Support is great... but over the past 2-3 years it moved from an 10/10 to an 8/10 ... but they are still helpful. I like the old reporting a bit better than the new.

Overall: It's a great product for Events - the best out there!

Pros: The ease of use. I like that we can create templates and use that to easy set up a new event. I also like the survey module.

Cons: The credit module can be a little difficult to use but they are constantly updating their system and making it better

Overall: I have been using Cvent for about the last 6 years with the company that i work for. The more that I use the platform and learn all the things that i can do, the easier it is manage the registration of my events. It is a great platform to use.

The functionality is great and tons of resources that are user friendly.

Pros: What I like most is the ease of use. Compared to other softwares options this one is by far the best overall. In addition the customer service, continuous account management followup, and resources is beyond expectations.

Cons: The only downfall is the housing piece all dependent on how you use it and internal policies. There are some work arounds but do hope that in to the road map this will be one feature to be updated.

Cons: Some areas for development, or features that don't link together as seamlessly as I would hope.

Overall: CVent has enabled us to grow our events programme, offering a scaled solution that is infinitely customisable. There are a few shortfalls, but that is more down to our own high expectations than a material fault with the platform.

CVent suport are excellent. Always available, and able to explain things in a clear concise manner. They have some great online self-service tools too.

Intuitive software, learning as I go without formal training on the system!

Pros: I like how you can make each event customized; there are endless ways to change the look and feel of the website.

Cons: I don't have any cons per se...if I had more training I would know the system better. Depending on the issue I'm having, it's taken customer service an average of 30 - 40 minutes to resolve my issue. However, they are thorough and do a fantastic job!

Overall: Streamlining of processes; we no longer need to track housing, registration, biographies, and photos separately. Everything is stored in one list for each event, which is very helpful! We've also been able to customize the look of our name badges; they look more polished!

Cvent's technology provides a streamlined way to manage diverse events with quality technology.

Pros: Cvent's support is AMAZING. When in doubt, their support materials are easy to search through and contain straightforward information. Moreover, their customer support team is alway kind and incredibly knowledgable.

Cons: The tool can be tough to learn. Unless you are working in Cvent on a regular basis, it can be difficult to navigate. This makes it tricky for some basic users to adopt. Once they get the swing of it, though, they are off and running.

Overall: Enhanced features allow for tailored registration processes that reduce manual work for our event planners while also giving them access to crucial data.

Overall great software and great experience with all Cvent team members when questions have arisen.

Pros: There is some much you can do with this product and make the product work for you (data tags). The OnArrival suite/Event in a Box (electronic sign in and on demand badge printing) really take events up a notch.

Cons: I wish there was more customization for the use of Cvent within healthcare industry focused meetings and events. Sometimes the layout is not quite intuitive/you have to do some digging to make changes.

I've always had a great experience using Cvent. Great functionality and timely support always.

Pros: Does exactly what I need it to do. Easy to use and keeps all of my events in a place where I can run reports for greater insight into the sales process.

Cons: Some of the formatting when designing the registration pages and emails are a little difficult. I have had to learn HTML coding and sometimes even that doesn't fix the problems. So sometimes I have to let the design just go when I am not 100% happy with it.

Cvent is easy to use and very convenient. The customer service is amazing! Great experience!

Pros: I love the customer service piece of the software because it is so verstile and like no other customer service I have ever experienced. I also love the endless capabilities you have and are able to achieve with ease. The reporting system is amazing, love the new reports also.

Cons: Some areas of the software can be a little difficult to manipulate, sometimes edits to the website or emails take some time to come through or can cause some challenges.

Overall: Better auditing material, better knowledge of our attendees with surveys and reg. questions and also overall better management of our events.

Pros: its dynamic and can mold to each situation - solution for everything. Love the express option.

Cons: Large ramp up time for new employees on my team. Wish there was an option for one-on-one cvent training.

Overall: We implemented cvent a few years back and it's been a huge success. Creating events that are polished and give the best experience for our attendees in a must.

Recommendations to other buyers: expand cvent express! We love how easy it is to use but need more options - custom reports and additional email options.

CVent helps us make our events successful and has allowed us to go paperless at our conferences.

Pros: The ease of submitting payments online (both checks and credit cards); being able to copy over events and update as you go; having a separate website for each event; having access to customer support in a matter of minutes.

Cons: Searching for attendees can be tricky sometimes (people who had been registered didn't know up on our reports).

Overall: Many--too many to list! CVent helps the planning process of our events simple.

Pros: Cvent allows you to control all aspects of your event, including registration, email marketing, and billing. It even allows for integration between many CRMs. Our company uses Weblink as our CRM and it integrates perfectly together

Cons: Most of their options for events is a la carte pricing. So sometimes you may not be able to fully utilize what Cvent has to offer due to budgetary constraints.

Pros: The email analytics that are available.

Cons: It can be a challenge to learn to navigate all the different pieces and figure out how they fit into the complete Cvent puzzle.

Overall: I first used Cvent in 2009 at a prior company and was always impressed with its capabilities. When I started working at my current company in 2012 they were using a different registration platform. I convinced them to make the move to Cvent, and we began transitioning all of our events to Cvent in 2016. Cvent is definitely the most robust event management tool I've used, and I love that it gives me the analytics I need to help my company make the most of our event marketing initiatives!

Pros: The ease of use and the features it offers (paid registrations, multiple pages, personalized registrant experience, templates). It has so much more than its competitors. I also love the customer service experience their team offers 24/7 and great account managers that care about their customers' success. They also offer a fantastic national conference each year for their planners.

Cons: I like least the lack of design features the standard and express versions offer (the express site is better for design but has many limitations). I also dislike that there are so many pieces to creating the standard registration that it is easy to miss or forget something.

Overall: I have used Cvent with multiple companies and truly enjoy what they have to offer, especially in recent years with the addition of Cvent Express. They listen to their customers to continue bringing new ideas to the table and offering a better experience.

Recommendations to other buyers: Give yourself lots of time to set up a standard site, but give the express version a try too! Well worth the money for a large company, but it can be pricey to use Cvent even if you are a non-profit. It does offer so much to an event manager and once I started using it, I do not want to use anything else!

Pros: If you know what you're doing, it can be very impressive. It can save event templates so you can just copy them over to your new event.

Cons: The site is slow and very unorganized. You can achieve a feature in several different ways, but if you don't "discover" where all those different ways are to review them, your event set up will not work properly. They need to simplify the process.

Pros: It's easy to navigate and build events. I like that ig I need assistance with something, I can look it up in the Community or contact Cvent Support.

Cons: Not having full control over editing emails, i.e formatting columns or tables within emails. I would like to have a better understanding of this.

Overall: I can work at my own pace. I can run or set up multiple reports. Parked reports for others to see/run on their own.

Pros: Cvent's reporting feature has changed my daily work routine. It's so quick and easy to pull reports for key stakeholders. I also really enjoy working with the customer service team. They are timely, helpful and great at communicating at all hours of the day. The Cvent Community allows users to increase productivity and streamline processes by sharing with one another.

Cons: There are some functions that are slightly outdated but Cvent has announced that their road map will be enhancing these functions in the near future.

Pros: This software looks like sometime spend time developing it. I use this almost everyday as an administrator, and it is so simple. Easy to add users, edit content, and overall a nice website to have to spend alot of time.

Cons: The customer service department could use some work. Helpful, but with the new integration of systems i feel that they are just looking for more money.

Pros: That it is user friendly, it looks more impressive than previous registration sites we used, and the customer support is awesome.

Cons: There are still a few features I wish it can do such as 2nd and 3rd sub-question in a trail. As well a few of the reporting tools, you have to pull multiple reports instead of one giant one.

Overall: That it Is a easy tool to use for anything, everything and on the go as welel.

Pros: ease to use/ customer support. I also enjoy having an account manager assigned to our company. She is my go-to person for everything and if she doesnt know the answer, she will find out who does and get back to me.

Cons: back end is a bit hard to navigate, have to go thru many screens to get to where you need to be at times.

Overall: Best way to organize an event and get the registration going.

Pros: I like the ability to build sites that are easy for registrants to navigate. I currently enjoy being able to have real control over the look and feel of my sites.

Cons: I fear with the switch to the Flex platform that I will lose my ability to customize sites. Currently the system is easier to customize and I hope they allow power users to continue to have thar functionality.

Pros: CVENT is easy to use. The best part of CVENT is their incredible customer service.

Cons: I would like reports to be generated in a format that is a little "prettier". We do need to edit reports to make them more presentable.

Overall: CVENT has transformed how we do business and how we manage events. Endless piles of paper have disappeared.

Recommendations to other buyers: Learn about all the extra modules you can purchase to make the system even more useful. Attend client seminars.

Pros: I like that it is simple to build event breakouts and easily track attendee count. The venue selection feature helps me efficiently research locations without manually sending emails to hotel sales managers.

Cons: Building the landing pages were a bit difficult. I would also really benefit if this platform integrated with Hubspot or any other Marketing Automation platform.

Pros: The software allows for very complex registration paths.

Cons: The system can be complex the first time you use it.

Overall: My first time using the Cvent Event Management software was for my largest professional event--which had be planned in less than 6 months. With the event guide option, I was able to have Cvent help me set up my portal and walk me through all aspects of my event to create the complex registration paths necessary to make the management of my attendees seamless.

I was able to tie this in with our Crowd Compass event app and link the complex registration paths and tracks to the app saving time and effort. I would say having to do this on my own that it's quite a complex system but Cvent's customer support is right there to hold your hand along the way. Whenever I had an issue, I was able to get someone on the phone to immediately assist.

CVENT has been great to use to promote our events!

Pros: Our Account Managers have been amazing. They are always willing to help and make sure we find a solution together. They are always willing to listen to our ideas, suggestions and enhancements.

Pros: The endless options to customize as much or as little as you want.

Cons: Sometimes it can be restraining in that Inquisium isn't quite up to speed with the customization but overall, still a good survey tool.

Overall: I highly recommend Cvent. Coming from a past of being a SignUp4 user (prior to the acquisition), Cvent is much more encompassing and all-over, easy to use product. The capabilities are endless and I can't speak more good about it!

Pros: Its helped save lots of hours I would normally spend on organising events. The tools that this application have are great, from duplicating events (so you dont have to redo the paperwork) to templates for websites to help promote your event. Its very good.

Cons: Like with all new applications, the initial set up and getting to know the system can be time consuming. But once you get to know it its a very easy application to use.

Overall: All in one place, great event management tools, great for multiple people to work on the same event software.

Pros: Flexibility in the registration process! I'm able to customize our registration to meet our unique needs, ensure folks only see what they should see, and gather the data we need to prepare for the event.

Cons: There is a learning curve. I hear they are working on updates, so I'm excited to see the new user interface.

Overall: DATA! We get so much data that influences the work we do.

Pros: Cvent is a user friendly, professional event registration system with plenty of integration options. They are continually updating their products to keep up with the event technology and listen to the customer enhancement requests.

Cons: The customer service can be confusing bit They are continually improving this process and providing better references.

Pros: Cvent has allowed our company to take our event management process from a manual, spreadsheet-driven one to one that is largely automated and seamless. Their products are truly built on customer feedback, and their customer service is stellar. This software is highly recommended.

Cons: The system could use an update to better accommodate roommate pairing and reporting to host hotels. Otherwise, the software has proven to suit our needs well.

Overall: Streamlined event management, supplier networking, event app software, and event surveys

Pros: Cvent has been seamless, fresh, exciting when it came to event planning. I think they are certainly keeping up with today's tech trends for event planning

Cons: Often time there are Lots of updates that it's sometimes hard to keep track. For instance a few fields were moved around and it literally too me about a hour to figure out where it went

Comments: I have been using Cvent now for the last 2 years with some pretty good results! I used the systems back in 2008-2009 and there are some definite differences. Its much more robust and user-friendly now, with the ability to truly set your meetings and events programs apart from others.
Pros:
You can establish and guide your SMM program through Cvent.
You have total flexibility with your registration process. It can capture as much or as little as you like.
your marketing and social media tasks can be conducted through this system
They have improved the integration system connecting Cvent to CrowdCompass (the corresponding mobile app). Now, whatever you enter in to Cvent as far as agenda, speakers and general info is concerned, will automatically pull over from Cvent.
The onsite check app, OnArrival, is simple, quick and gets attendees on their way.
Customer Service is available 24/7- super helpful during the late night/early morning working hours.

Cons:
The abstract management tool is still in the works. It would be super helpful to have some easier ways that other abstract management systems can integrate/connect with Cvent until they launch their own system.
The OnArrival system is great, but there is no easy way to download the names of the attendees that were checked in onsite via OnArrival vs those that pre-registered. There is a workaround, but this should be standard and easily accessible.
During high-volume event times, Customer Service wait times can get to be upwards of 30mins. Not good if you are onsite and experiencing a problem.

Pros: Its all inclusive - so many functions that can be used within one software

Cons: Too complex sometimes- it's smarter than me!

Overall: I've been using cvent for about 3 years now and each quarter I learn something new and helpful that I can implement in my office. We recently incorporated the mobile app to our annual conference, and will be having our first paperless event!

Recommendations to other buyers: Always call customer support if you have questions, they are awesome

The software is easy to use and easy to train our employees on.

Pros: I like the customer service availability and how helpful they are. I also enjoy the sense of community with other event planners that Cvent offers.

Cons: It is probably the best software available for third party planners, but it is still not ideal. There are still some functions like ground transportation management and travel that are not available/easy to use.

Pros: I love it all of our data is in one place and we're able to pull and make decisions based on it. The consolidation of information has allowed us to show our Executives the value that we bring to our company.

Cons: There are only a few features that I do not care for one of which is how you assign resources to events and there is no way to batch assign.

Working with Cvent has been great! It's helped us create better event experiences for our customers.

Pros: Attendee registration, On Arrival, and budget tracking capabilities. These tools have allowed us to become better and faster at what we do, and improve our overall events for our customers internally and externally.

Cons: I struggle with reporting features. They're very robust so I'm not always sure how to narrow down the reports I'm looking for.

Its been a challenging learning curve but very functional once you conquer it!

Pros: All the options., including passkey, abstract mgmt and OnArrival. It makes the registration process more efficient for both the user and the creator.

Cons: Having to go back and forth between admin and event. There should be an easier step to this. Could use more effecient reports for the event questions.

Overall: Extremely useful registration process and reporting.

My experience has been wonderful, great product and great customer service.

Pros: I like the ever changing technology used. Cvent is always updating and getting better for its users. It also it a one-stop shop. We use it for event websites, registration, certificates, and surveys.

Cons: There is nothing that I don't like about Cvent except that I wish more people used it. It is a wonderful tool.

Overall: Reports, surveys, and budgeting.

Pros: Cvent is easy to use and navigate. The ability to copy and paste, add attachments and really sell on this tool is key.

Cons: Sometimes we are not allowed to retract a turndown and have to go to the client for them to resend and then follow up to get this done.

Overall: Ease of use, quick response to my clients, ability to sell as much as possible, ability to make quick changes.

I use Cvent to manage 3 user conferences per year. We use the registration and mobile app software.

Pros: Easy to use and understand, don't have to be technical to understand and work in the CMS.
Top notch customer service, truly the best around.
On-Arrival is great and helps to streamline the reg process

Cons: Can be pricey compared to other registration systems. Price per registration is high. Cost for Marketo integration should be included.

Comments: I starting using Cvent in 2004 , when it was just getting started. It served our organization well for event management over 9 years. It was very easy to use and user friendly for our members and administration.

Pros: Cvent's system allowed for easy customization of messages to members and potential members and tied in well with our website. Customer service and tech support were excellent. I liked that user recommendations for improvements were always considered and suggestions were implemented to make the system even better.

Cons: The costs for Cvent are a limiting factor for many small non-profit associations. We only moved away from Cvent after our club grew to a point that we needed a more complete and comprehensive association management system that could accommodate the complexity of our organization and serve the needs of our corporate memberships that included c-level members and young professional members, as well as an education foundation.

Pros: It's easy to use and there is a way to get all you need.

Cons: In the beginning it was very limited, but over time they have evolved to allow the system to do more.

Overall: We've had a few change of hands over the years; however, our current management team has been amazing. Working above and beyond our own expectations. I think as the product evolved so did the mind set of the company and their employees.

Positive, intetegeated into our organization fairly seemlessly.

Pros: Website builds are fairly easy. Easily communicates with crowd compass and the onsite solutions, including badge printing.

Cons: It is not intuitive. You Change a setting and then the next day you can't remember how you did it. Also once you make a change on a website it is final. You can't revert back. I know this will change with Flex.

Customer service is BEST in class! In 6 years of using cvent I have not had a bad experience!

Pros: It allows us to have all of our travelers in one database. We are able to customize each one of our registration sites. We manage over 130 trips a year.

Cons: It does not speak to our BB platform - cvent is now charging for HTLM support. This used to be free for us to call in for support.

Overall: we have two teams using this sofware in our organization.

Pros: Cvent helped us a lot with the event management. We have been using Cvent since 2008 and don't have any complaints. Customer service is exceptional.

Cons: It is a little bit difficult to navigate for new users, but when you document the steps and use it on a regular basis, it get's easier.

Overall: Event organization. Can't see us using any other software :)
