Pros: It super easy to submit a meeting rfp. I find the hotel sourcing tool to be very intuitive, efficient and overall all extremely easy to use. I once did it in the time it took my plane to finish boarding. I also like that while sourcing hotels, the system maps them for you. this is really helpful when you are trying to find hotels close to a particular place or another hotel. Like when sourcing overflow hotels.

Cons: I wish we could better manage room blocks. I find people that quickly accessing someone's travel/hotel reservation takes a lot of clicks. I also find it odd that they call it travel and not just hotel reservations or something hotel related. Anyways, it's also hard to quickly find out how many nights someone is staying or create a room list by room nights for determining food counts and particular meeting attendance.

Overall: Quite a bit. For one, I now feel a lot more comfortable using the tool. Before, we used Lanyon and I felt like I needed a PHD to navigate the toold. Now I'm comfortable with the tool and can quickly access what I need.

Pros: Seamless integration with Cvent, application is very user friendly for attendees and for myself on the back end. The application looks professional and easily customizable.

Cons: I'm not sure if this is still an issue, but you cannot see the push notifications unless the app is open.

Overall: The use of a phone app for our national conference. This cuts down on paper print outs and can be used for attendees and exhibitors. It allows attendees to communicate between each other and to learn more about a speaker from any of the sessions.

I've always had a great experience using Cvent. Great functionality and timely support always.

Pros: Does exactly what I need it to do. Easy to use and keeps all of my events in a place where I can run reports for greater insight into the sales process.

Cons: Some of the formatting when designing the registration pages and emails are a little difficult. I have had to learn HTML coding and sometimes even that doesn't fix the problems. So sometimes I have to let the design just go when I am not 100% happy with it.

Switching to Cvent has made my work day so much easier and more efficient.

Pros: I love the ease of use and functionality compared to what we previously used. It is a very robust platform that has helped to increase my productivity and also provide better final products to my colleagues and clients. Customer support is excellent!

Cons: It was a little hard to transition from our previous platform however, I think that is expected whenever you are making a switch so isn't necessarily a con of the software.

It's capable of a lot, just really clunky to use.

Pros: You are able to incorporate all aspects of your event in one place. From payments to staff management, to pulling reports, you can manage all aspects of your event.

Cons: It is not intuitive at all. There are lots of little details to learn and understand to fully utilize all the tools available. It's easier to use once you get the hang of it, but certainly not the most user friendly.

Overall great software and great experience with all Cvent team members when questions have arisen.

Pros: There is some much you can do with this product and make the product work for you (data tags). The OnArrival suite/Event in a Box (electronic sign in and on demand badge printing) really take events up a notch.

Cons: I wish there was more customization for the use of Cvent within healthcare industry focused meetings and events. Sometimes the layout is not quite intuitive/you have to do some digging to make changes.

Horrible from day one. They locked us out of our account and app a week befyour event!

Pros: Lots of options, handles accounting for your event and has all features you need. Except you are charged a la carte style.

Cons: It is extremely difficult to understand the logic behind the process they choose to create your event. Im a web developer amd know 4 programming languages and still the whole time was asking myself why is it like this?

Overall: How to recognize when a company just wants your money and once they get it they cant be found.

I've been using Cvent for 2+ years, in multiple accounts with the enterprise modules

Pros: I like the flexibility I have to select the features and functionality that suit a particular event.

Cons: Not intuitive. There's a reason, other than bragging rights, that they offer Cvent user certifications.

Customer service is BEST in class! In 6 years of using cvent I have not had a bad experience!

Pros: It allows us to have all of our travelers in one database. We are able to customize each one of our registration sites. We manage over 130 trips a year.

Cons: It does not speak to our BB platform - cvent is now charging for HTLM support. This used to be free for us to call in for support.

Overall: we have two teams using this sofware in our organization.

Pros: flexible and integrated - we use it for SMM and it helps give transparency to many different areas of the business that we wouldn't have access to otherwise.

Cons: lots of clicks to get to where you need to get to. can't bulk edit many items in the software. slow to load

Pros: Cvent's support is AMAZING. When in doubt, their support materials are easy to search through and contain straightforward information. Moreover, their customer support team is alway kind and incredibly knowledgable.

Cons: The tool can be tough to learn. Unless you are working in Cvent on a regular basis, it can be difficult to navigate. This makes it tricky for some basic users to adopt. Once they get the swing of it, though, they are off and running.

Overall: Enhanced features allow for tailored registration processes that reduce manual work for our event planners while also giving them access to crucial data.

Cvent is easy to use and very convenient. The customer service is amazing! Great experience!

Pros: I love the customer service piece of the software because it is so verstile and like no other customer service I have ever experienced. I also love the endless capabilities you have and are able to achieve with ease. The reporting system is amazing, love the new reports also.

Cons: Some areas of the software can be a little difficult to manipulate, sometimes edits to the website or emails take some time to come through or can cause some challenges.

Overall: Better auditing material, better knowledge of our attendees with surveys and reg. questions and also overall better management of our events.

Pros: I like how you can make each event customized; there are endless ways to change the look and feel of the website.

Cons: I don't have any cons per se...if I had more training I would know the system better. Depending on the issue I'm having, it's taken customer service an average of 30 - 40 minutes to resolve my issue. However, they are thorough and do a fantastic job!

Overall: Streamlining of processes; we no longer need to track housing, registration, biographies, and photos separately. Everything is stored in one list for each event, which is very helpful! We've also been able to customize the look of our name badges; they look more polished!

Great! Has dramatically decreased time manually reviewing data!

Pros: The option to have different registration paths to customize attendee experience. The customer support I receive is always great.

Cons: User friendliness. I don't quite understand the efficiency of having the "admin" page, as many of the features that need to be changed (reports, test users, etc.) would be more time efficient if you could edit that data from the main page.

Pros: That it is robust and flexible, you can accomplish so much with this tool. You can handle complex registrations with multiple paths or quickly get a small event registration out. Also the workflow capabilities are great for strategic meetings management programs.

Cons: Nothing really, would love to be able to do more in it though to help consolidate more processes. Also the CSS editing can get a bit wonky here and there.

This tool can put all my meeting specs in once place.

Pros: The helpful customer service and that it can integrate with many of the other leading systems. This tool not only houses all of my org's meeting specs, but it has also fostered better communication cross-departmentally.

Cons: CVent's capabilities are so robust that it can be frustrating to learn, at first. However, CVent has an incredibly caring and knowledgeable team who are willing to help.

Pros: Cvent helped us a lot with the event management. We have been using Cvent since 2008 and don't have any complaints. Customer service is exceptional.

Cons: It is a little bit difficult to navigate for new users, but when you document the steps and use it on a regular basis, it get's easier.

Overall: Event organization. Can't see us using any other software :)

This platform can do it all. I'm able to run my event smoothly from soup to nuts.

Pros: Flexibility in the registration process! I'm able to customize our registration to meet our unique needs, ensure folks only see what they should see, and gather the data we need to prepare for the event.

Cons: There is a learning curve. I hear they are working on updates, so I'm excited to see the new user interface.

Overall: DATA! We get so much data that influences the work we do.

Cvent has a wide birth in accommodating all stages of your event success!

Pros: The depth it has - previous softwares couldn't meet complex needs, but on Cvent I've made improvements to my registration process that I didn't even know I needed to.

Cons: Because it does so much, it can be challenging for a new-adopter to pick it up. But, with customer rep, they are working to address that issue.

Comments: This is a great program that we have been using for 5 years and will hopefully continue to work with them in years to come. We are even looking into using their event app for our next big conference.

Pros: We do a lot of meetings throughout the year, and Cvent is the quickest way that we hear back from hotels. I usually can get a response from all the hotels within a week. I also like to use Cvent for Event Registration. It is a great program to keep track of attendees.

Cons: The only problem is that when creating your Event Registration there is not a lot of flexibility for sub questions that need to be answered when attendees are registering.

Pros: The software is really smart. I love all of the advanced filters, data tags, and settings that let you customize your registrant's experience from start to finish. I have been using the software for three years and I'm still learning new things every day.

Cons: The software is not always user friendly or intuitive. However, they have a great customer support team that will help you figure it all out. Once you know it, you know it.

e-RFP tool is easy to use and makes life easier. Expecting great things with the addition of FLEx

Pros: The e-RFP tool can send out multiple RFPs at once and pull a report with everything I need. The Event Management tool allows me to completely control my event; from booking the travel to collecting special requests to pulling together custom reports.

Cons: The current event management module does not connect well with the travel portion. I find myself calling support or creating my own work around because the two system do not integrate.

Overall: I can do everything in one place. I can send out RFPs, collect proposals, award contracts, then transfer that information into my event website.

Pros: Cvent is easy to use and navigate. The ability to copy and paste, add attachments and really sell on this tool is key.

Cons: Sometimes we are not allowed to retract a turndown and have to go to the client for them to resend and then follow up to get this done.

Overall: Ease of use, quick response to my clients, ability to sell as much as possible, ability to make quick changes.

Pros: Very user friendly. It was easy to learn and quickly set up events. The dashboard is great for overview of each event for a quick glance.

Cons: I don't like that there is limited editing for the templates when it comes to the colors and backgrounds.

Pros: Our Account Managers have been amazing. They are always willing to help and make sure we find a solution together. They are always willing to listen to our ideas, suggestions and enhancements.

Cons: I wish there was a way to do mobile friendly email. Mobile responsive. There is a lot of "as/if" functions. Easier way to embedd registration pages on our website.

Pros: With the software, it makes event management easy to do. Our team has learned it on our own with minor help from customer support, who has always been extremely patient and easy to work with. The software itself is highly intuitive and walks you through the process step-by-step. The most beautiful thing, in my opinion, about Cvent is that the constantly are taking feedback from us all and improving the products more and more every day. It excites me to work with them!

Cons: The only issue I had was the initial set-up but that was because we did not pay for the additional training and they switched to Blue while we were building our first event, which made everything simple and easy to do.

Overall: They are numerous: ease of use, easy to manage, helpful to our clients, etc!

I use Cvent to manage 3 user conferences per year. We use the registration and mobile app software.

Pros: Easy to use and understand, don't have to be technical to understand and work in the CMS.
Top notch customer service, truly the best around.
On-Arrival is great and helps to streamline the reg process

Cons: Can be pricey compared to other registration systems. Price per registration is high. Cost for Marketo integration should be included.

Out of all the registration tools that I have seen, Cvent seems to have the best functionality.

Pros: Great customer service, always able to get them on the phone or by chat to get what you need done. Also great follow up if you have an open case.

Cons: You need to have a high level of coding to make your website look professional or pay the team to do it for you

Overall: ease of registration, great event app for on site - cuts down the need for paper products

Pros: The support team is always happy to help with any possible question I have! The chat tool is by far my favourite way to get instant answers to the more cut and dry inquiries that I have.

Cons: It can feel a little daunting to try and grasp how much the tool can be customized for you needs - and to determine how best to utilize it for each specific event.

Cvent allows us to complete almost all processes within the same software.

Pros: The customization, and integration with other helpful event management tools. Cvent Support is always available and is quick to answer any questions.

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve (just as with any software). There are some software glitches that make changes not always stick (i.e. in emails). But with coding the problem can almost always be fixed!

Overall: Ease of registration and event management.

Positive, intetegeated into our organization fairly seemlessly.

Pros: Website builds are fairly easy. Easily communicates with crowd compass and the onsite solutions, including badge printing.

Cons: It is not intuitive. You Change a setting and then the next day you can't remember how you did it. Also once you make a change on a website it is final. You can't revert back. I know this will change with Flex.

Cvent makes it so easy to set up and manage an event!

Pros: Very easy to navigate from start to finish. The customer service is amazing and they are there to help find the answer/walk you through the process. You can literally ask them anything.

Cons: When you start integrating other software into Cvent (travel agency, etc.) it gets a little tricky!

Pros: I love that the tool is flexible enough to meet any complex need we have. The company is also always improving their software and expanding their reach to areas we will need help with in the future. Support is great - community for self-help, IM for quick help, call for more complex issues 24/7 which is crucial when onsite.

Cons: The tool can become a little complicated because of how customizable it is and some features look a little out-dated - but new releases solve for both of these problems.

Pros: Even at the minimum defaults, the overall presentation of an event is highly professional.
As a non-for-profit organization driven by data, the data this system has the potential to collect is phenomenal.
The payment process and financial reporting is also easy to use and a huge timesaver.
The support services are the absolute best I have experienced.

Pros: We jumped right into CVENT without much training. I was able to build a site relatively fast and without much distress. When I did have problems, the customer service and website support is really fantastic.

Cons: No dynamic reports without having to add a user and have a password. I think setting up housing is a bit confusingz

Overall: I manage 20 meetings a year and I find the software easy to use and my stakeholders are pleased with the websites.

Pros: The registration process for our events was very manual before CVENT... Everything from event promotion, getting the information to all the attendees in an organized and timely manner, reporting, budgeting, badges, payments, and much more is all handled in one place. It allows me to focus more on the actual event!

Cons: When we first purchased CVENT, it took quite a bit for me to learn how to use the system... You need to be willing to invest the time into learning the system but it's well worth it.

Cons: You can only use one email per event. If I want to have a sponsor register their booth and register themselves separately, it requires a separate email. You cannot run reports by organization. It seems like they don't actually consult meeting planners, or else they would know why certain things are needed (assigning meeting rooms to agenda items, making registration items mandatory - right now you have to make mandatory registration questions to be sure you have accurate numbers and then a separate, duplicate process to have them also add their registered events to their agenda to be sure they have an accurate schedule, they need better event templates, they need to eliminate being able to do the same thing in three different ways/locations of the software - this makes it hard to be consistent through the whole process.

Comments: This is the first event management system I have had the opportunity to use in my job. As with anything new it takes some time to adjust and learn but the customer service is great, I probably call, chat or use their help and support 3 - 4 times a week to double check a step, get clarification on a process or if I need help with something new. Since my company has moved to cvent we have seen many great additions to their suite with the app, on arrival, and inqusium and abstract management. Comments: As a new Cvent user, I feel as though my Cvent knowledge as grown exponentially the more I use Cvent and create invitation campaigns. Cvent is obviously an incredibly powerful tool, however it takes quite a bit of time to play around and "break things" before you start to feel confident and comfortable in your ability to produce a quality invitation.
The one major downside (in my opinion) to Cvent is that many design aspects require HTML knowledge, or the utilization of the HTML team. For example, on a few invitations I have put together, changing a simple font color requires a 30 minute chat to Cvent, rather than simple format change on my own computer.
There are so many awesome features, however not all of them are easy to understand. Thankfully, there is a tremendous web of support and the chat functionality is amazing.

Pros: The integration start to finish can cover anything you need for an event. The software is very robust to allow you to customize for almost any scenario. Registration options are very good for multiple registrations and easy to modify or switch. Customer service is very helpful when you need it.

Cons: Along with the robustness of the software, certain quirks come with it. Some events have a lot of repetitive tasks you have to complete to get it all working properly and some items are hard to find.

Overall: CVENT is great for running single or reoccurring events. If you have a lot of the same people coming, the system can remember them to make the process easier depending on how much personal info you collect. If you use other CVENT software, most of it can be linked to make it even easier to make everything seamless from event apps to on site check ins. Some admin items can be hard to find even after using it for a while because of the logic they use to choose what items are under what headings but not a huge issue. If you are using the software to host your event site, it's best if you can code it all because working with their design and coding team can be frustrating. Customer support is very quick to respond and resolve issues but make sure you contact your account manager and general support just in case your account manager is unavailable at the time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't hesitate to use customer service if you run into any issues. Make sure you test anything you do thoroughly and have other people with fresh eyes test as well on different devices.

Overall: My first time using the Cvent Event Management software was for my largest professional event--which had be planned in less than 6 months. With the event guide option, I was able to have Cvent help me set up my portal and walk me through all aspects of my event to create the complex registration paths necessary to make the management of my attendees seamless.

I was able to tie this in with our Crowd Compass event app and link the complex registration paths and tracks to the app saving time and effort. I would say having to do this on my own that it's quite a complex system but Cvent's customer support is right there to hold your hand along the way. Whenever I had an issue, I was able to get someone on the phone to immediately assist.

Pros: It continues to evolve, they don't just make an update and leave it sit for the next big update. Continuous evolution of the product makes it extremely user friendly and offer solutions to issues you didn't even know could be fixed.

Cons: There are parts of the software that do not do everything we would like; some customization and functionality. However, I am able to share my feedback directly with the team and more often than not, within a given amount of time they have placed that item on the road map and it's completed.

Overall: I inherited our Cvent account when I began at my job nearly 7 years ago and couldn't be more pleased with how much our partnership with them has grown. Through the years they continue to be searching for how to be better, more innovative, always on the look out for the next new thing; all while continuing to keep the focus of the customer top of mind. I am part of the Cvent Advocates program, spoke at the past 3 annual events, presented on dozens of webinars and fostered real friendships with the employees. Cvent feels like an extension of my team, rather than a product or service that we use. I couldn't imagine using a different partner, every so often we have done our due diligence and nothing holds a candle to what Cvent has to offer. If you are willing to put in a little bit of effort, Cvent and its team will match you tenfold and do everything in their power to help make you and your event a success. Thank you, Cvent, for making my job easier.

Recommendations to other buyers: You cannot expect it to do all the work for you. Yes, this software is extremely user friendly and will automate many processes and procedures as well as make your job easier. But just like most things, you have to be willing to put in the effort to be sure that you are getting the most out of it. If you are willing to learn more, the team at Cvent will be there with bells on to continue to make your experience even better.

Pros: Cvent allows me to take my events from the idea stage, through sourcing, registration, all the way to reconciliation.

Cons: There are limitations with every software, but Cvent is always updating so issues you have today may be solved in the next release!

Overall: I've been using Cvent for several years and I've been able to expand my current company's usage of it and make us more valuable to clients.

Recommendations to other buyers: Cvent has so many different pieces to it that every company with events can find some way that Cvent can improve what they do.

Comments: We started using Cvent after moving away from the cumbersome, time consuming and costly method of registration via mail/email, etc... There was an initial learning curve, but the staff at Cvent are the most helpful i have come across. They are eager to help however they can so you can maximize what Cvent can do for your event. They are not hesitant to schedule a conference/video call to clarify any questions or walk you through a setup.
They are fast at replying and i always have 1, or multiple (depends on what product i'm using - Registration software vs. Crowd Compass), dedicated associates with our account so i am not wasting time with 'back story' for every new representative i speak with.
There really are not enough great things i can say about Cvent... in today's society, all too often i deal with call centres, or even email only, but Cvent has kept the customer at the centre of their business, and built it around OUR needs.... WELL DONE Cvent!!

Pros: It is easy to use and intuitive.

Cons: There are some features that could be improved.

Overall: I am a relatively new user to Cvent - I have only been using it for 3 months. In this time, though, I have become very familiar with its features. It has been easy to become familiar with it because it is relatively easy to use, and generally intuitive. There are some features that could be improved, but Cvent does seem to be continuously improving. Their customer support is also top notch.

Pros: The robustness of the features.

Cons: It takes a bit to get the configuration setup but once this is done, you are good to go. You can pay Cvent to setup this stuff but we didn't do that so I would recommend that you do.

Overall: We are a small firm that holds many classes throughout the year. We needed a replacement for our proprietary event calendar. Cvent was a great choice and does everything we need and much more. We look forward to growing with Cvent.

Pros: Ability to manage very simple and complex events. Integration of events, communication and association management systems.
Client success manager that is assigned to your account is great to navigate best practices.

Cons: Would like to see embedded video on e-Marketing platform.

Overall: We are a multi-client firm that focuses on non-profit association management. Most association management systems have very limited event and communication platforms for the complex clients we have. We focused on getting every client on CVENT for communications and all of our events. This has been great to go into one login and system to manage all clients. We then focused on using CVENT as our association management system utilizing the members only section that can be created and tracking and managing CE's. CVENT has been great for us because everything is housed all together and the integrations are terrific. We can put our clients on CVENT whether they have a small or large budget.

When looking at the cost compared to other systems the pricing was comparable, but we were impressed with the options of customer service, online resources and in-person support that are available. I truly see the advances CVENT making that it will be considered a large player in the association management system arena.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend investing in training early and work with your client success manager and you will have a great start. There are different ways you can do something on CVENT but having someone show you a best practice is essential.

Pros: The ability to communicate with all customers at once.

Cons: The inability to send the invite to multiple email addresses.

Overall: We implemented Cvent for the first time this year, and our overall experience was a success. There were a few hick-ups when it came to user capabilities, for example, the inability to send the invite to multiple emails, but overall we were able to have a very successful conference thanks to Cvent.

Recommendations to other buyers: Recommend that your attendees forward their invite email to their personal email so they may access their app when on the go.

Overall: My company has worked with cvent for years, and I started a year and a half ago. There are many options in cvent, which is very nice because if you want to do something, the option is usually there for you, if you know where to look. Customer support can be rough though, because the people tend not to know much about cvent, especially if it's complicated, and then they say they will get back to you, but they don't, at least not until much later (and our events are over by then...) But overall, a great product!

Pros: I appreciate the many tools that exist within the Cvent system. It's truly remarkable that CVent can help you plan and successfully execute every moment from the first step onwards. They seem to have thought of everything!

Cons: I have found that since they are often attempting to 'do it all', the reporting options through Cvent can often be very cumbersome and leave you sifting through too many options. However, please keep in mind that, if you are lost, they will help!

Overall: Cvent is an incredible platform that, when utilized to its fullest, is a planner's dream. It is possible that you can use it for every step of your planning process starting with venue choice, through budgeting and marketing, and ending with full reporting and broadcasting. It also has multiple platforms built into it that allow your meetings to run smoothly. These include web applications for attendees, quick registration tools, and various ways to track your progress along the way. They also provide integration with their own tools as well as some tools your company/organization may already be using.
Throughout the entire process, CVent provides excellent customer support with check-ins that meet your needs/desires. If you'd like them to check in they will and they will also frequently review your account to find ways in which you can better utilize their assistance and products! If you'd rather have a hands-off approach, they're fine with that too.

Recommendations to other buyers: Even if you choose the most basic and intro-level subscription, they will do their best to make it work for you and ensure you are utilizing every aspect of your access to the fullest. It's remarkable to me that the account managers are always trying their best to make the product be as workable for you and your organization as possible.

Pros: registration and sourcing features.

Cons: it is somewhat fragmented and there are too many sections to go update to finish off a meeting. Also, reports are impossible to run across different areas.

Overall: really good tool for meeting planning and understanding meeting spend, registration of attendees, and sourcing.

Comments: I have been using Cvent for nearly a decade. While pricey, the platform can do just about anything you can imagine. If you can't figure it out, call their support staff, they are the BEST trained support of any product I use personal or professional.

Pros: More capabilities than any other event software management tool.

Cons: Customer service can vary and sometimes be unhelpful but they are available 24/7 which is nice. Not the most user friendly but easier to use once you've spent a lot of time in it.

Overall: Cvent - although not the most user friendly software program, is the only one we have found to have all of the functionality that we require. They have extensive capabilities that do some take digging to discover. Have tried other platforms and have had to go back to cvent.

Comments: The phone, chat, and email support are awesome and generally pretty helpfully. The only real issue we've run into is the lack in flexibility in some areas. We host events around the world and there are times we need to tweak some things that are out of the ordinary for North American events and have had to find creative ways around the issue or had to live with the issue. 1 example would be using the hotel accommodations feature; you can set the room rate, but that price cannot change with time. So that someone who books early gets a different rate than someone who books closer to the event.
